Improved aesthetic renovation has done a solid job...

Improved aesthetic renovation has done a solid job of modernizing an aging arena over the previous few years. Such improvements could include the outer foundation and design, entrances, ticket scanning/security checkpoints, concourse, seats, and scoreboard. Still in dire need of a structural uplifting, though. Seating patterns are still off, lighting is dark and drab, staircase entrances between the seating sections and concourse stand annoyingly in the way of audience view, and movement between levels remains a chore at best.

Nice look and the place is cool after all the facelifts it got recently. The staff are polite and has good view from all stands. Easy to go around with all the assistance from staff and restrooms are maintained well and clean.

The home of the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA and the Lynx of the WNBA, along with many other events, underwent a massive renovation starting in 2016. The arena has been transformed into a venue that caters to a very upscale crowd as typically seen at arenas like the Oakland Alameda Indoor Coliseum or Madison Square Garden. As a "Budget Tourist" patron, the new upscale amenities are really not available to me, but are very attractive, along with the renovation of the concourses, lobby and, particularly, the comfort rooms. Women will appreciate the addition of added comfort rooms. The arena staff, for the most part, are pleasant. Entry and exit from the surrounding area is very easy, particularly if using transit - which is strongly encouraged. No less than 12 bus lines, Northstar Commuter Rail and trams to Mall of America, the airport and St. Paul serve the immediate area. Traffic outside on game days is insufferable and parking rates appear as high as those in New York. As is the case at most USA sporting venues, food and drink prices are astronomical, but look to be enhanced and improved from prior years. The reason why I give a 4 out of 5 is because of the hideous pricing, a team phone app that has compatibility issues, a number of obstructed view seats and a lack of manners by fellow patrons who constantly go from their seats into the concession areas and back again during the run of play - usually to buy alcohol. This is very distracting and frustrating. It's not the best arena in the league but it is a major improvement that ties deeply to the Minnesota culture and its roots. A family of 4 can expect to spend a minimum of $150 for a "budget" evening at this venue, based on event pricing and desired concessions. It appears easy to do a day trip to Target Centre without a car from cities like Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Fargo, Des Moines, Iowa City, St. Cloud or Duluth.

If zero stars were an option that would be my choice. I will never attend another concert or other event there again. They could learn a lot from the Excel Center.
I attended the Allison Kraus/Willie Nelson concert. My first annoyance was the heavy curtains at every section entrance that are designed to keep light from hallways outside the auditorium out were open all around the auditorium throughout the concert. Ushers made zero efforts to close them. Trying to get to the ground floor at the end of the concert really sealed the deal. One of the folks in our party uses a wheelchair. They have one small elevator that goes to ground level. That's one elevator to get everyone who needs it, from every level, to ground level and anyone, ambulatory or not, can use it. When our friend got to the front of the line, we continued to wait for 40 minutes before there eas space for her to get on. When we left there were still lines of folks on every floor waiting for a lift down. I honestly don't understand how that's even legal! Never again. Seriously-F..CK Target Center!

Great venue for basketball, even if it is the timberwolves. Game day operations are handled well and there is never any issue getting through security and to your seats on time. Concessions are a little pricey, I would advise eating beforehand at a place in the skyway!

Everything was great. I had never seen Willie Nelson in concert. It was a priviledge to see him. He is a legend. He sang songs that my mom and dad had sung when we were young. I knew the words- "Hey Good Lookin". Memories of our family sing -a- longs came back because you see my mom and dad are gone. I know mom dad, grandma and grandpa were listening from heaven. But hearing Willie brought back memories of a time long passed.

Willie, legends may come and go, but the feelings and the memories that you give to us when you sing and play will never die. I recently heard a song that asked have I done everything I could in the time you have given me. You have and more. Did you hear the crowd? They loved you. We love you.

Allison Krause's performance with her band was top. She has the voice of an angel. The harmonys' and solos were rad. Her songs rang out some of the lessons that my mom and dad instilled in us as we grew up.

Another reason we went was because my nephew, Dan Smalley, also sang. My mom and dad in heaven, sisters and brothers, especially his dad and mom, wife and children are all very proud of him along with the rest of our extended family. Daniel, you have the opportunity to pass on our families love for country music. Pass It on!

A big arena with decent acoustics for big bands. I've seen a ton of shows there and they are big. Fits a lot of pyro and a lot of people drunk on 15 dollars a glass beer. It's a stadium, may as well enjoy it as your tax dollars paid for it for some unknown reason.

Most seats have a pretty good view regardless of how high up you are. The skyway system leading to it can be very rundown in some sections. Expect to pay 9 bucks for a can of lite beer.

Good show but there is definitely room to make the experience better. For example, they could have used the jumbotron to give the back seats a better view but no. Also, they were very lenient on checking IDs. There were several minors sitting near me that were served alcohol

Thank goodness for the light rail or I wouldn't want to go here because it is cumbersome navigating through all the pedestrian and vehicle traffic in downtown Minneapolis to get to the Target Center. I like how they have many security lines open to get into the venue. Lots of dining options in the area.

Target Center is an older arena by local standards. Because of that, you notice how small and crowded the concourses are. That said, the food selections are overall good, and the atmosphere inside can be incredible, whether you're there for a concert or basketball game. Getting in and out is super easy, although getting from the lower concourse to the upper can be a bit of a chore.
