This place should of have a better rating overall but seriously my last experience explained why they have a 3.9 rating. This was my first and last time going there as a customer I will never go back there, staring with a long with for a drink or a hookah refill the MANEGER was horrible and had a bad attitude trying to cover up their bad service THAT IS NOT HOW YOU FIX YOUR CUSTUMERS PROBLEMS. If you guys want a or need a better rating that manager needs to fix his attitude or get a traning some how, just to clarify his short I do not remember his name. Thank you

This is a cozy place with a very unique atmosphere. We came here with friends and were very happy with our meals. We did see the belly dancer as advertised, but this was more a curiosity than an art worth watching.

Worst experienced ever.Terrible service .we spend They over 400$ in the restaurant and went downstairs to have hookahs.Slow, rude service. They forced us to leave because we spend less than their minimum which we werent aware of that.Mandatory 18% tip included in the recipient.

I have not been to this hidden gem in a few years, but, it still remains the most impressive and decadent restaurant I'd ever been. The floral water hand soaking premeal is a detail I've yet to find anywhere else. The decor is indescribably comfortable and romantic. The food was the best I've had in the Boston area and the service is so professional and accommodating. Everything was just perfect and memorable. The perfect date destination and/or family or business destination to impress. Well worth the price.

Wow I cannot say enough about this place I went for a co-worker s birthday and man we had a a blast! From the moment we got there , the Devore is so sexy and exotic, the food was so delicious, It was the first time I had couscousand let me tell not only it was delicious when I googled the nutritional facts I was wowed, the. Food was so healthy a lot of veggies, protein, dried fruits, healthy spices turmeric, cumin saffron I was really impressed how healthy the food in this restaurant was , we also learned that all the food is delivered and cooked daily, the shorty ribs melt in your mouth, the hummus, the eggplant salad I can go on about the food, the wine selection was good and the cocktails were very exotic French kiss, was great but I loved the Moroccan mojito made with fresh brewed Moroccan mint tea , we were all super happy with service and we got happier after we got to see the bellydancing show, I highly recommend this place!

Great food, beautiful ambiance and decoration. There is a belly dancer that dance through the restaurant once or twice max while you eat it s a great short distraction. You must have a Couscous Royal if you go there it is de-li-cious!!!!!

As a former employee I can testify that this is by far the worst run establishment I have ever worked at. I quickly learned from locals that this place has a very high turnover rate of servers, managers and bartenders. They mismanage payroll and personnel folders. The owner is an arrogant, self absorbed, belligerent fool. No wonder why all these ratings cite abysmal service. Just sayin...

I have come here before and fell in love with the tagine. This time we came for the hookah lounge. Well ventilated, tvs if you don't wanna miss the game, great music at a good volume to still promote chatting, solid food choice to snack on. Check it out for dinner or for some hookah.

Tangierino is a cute and cozy spot. It s perfect for a date night or a pre-party night. Hookah and drinks in the same spot is a plus (don t forget the tea!) I liked the decoration inside too. I got their chicken kabob dinner and was full with that. I would come again!

Food was great. Service was terrible. They prioritized people who had been seated much later than our table (there are no reservations in the lounge). Took 30 minutes to get a drink and it wasnt even busy

Read this and you should know everything.

Read this and you should know everything.
*Parking: 2; I didnt see much parking. I did see a valet sign, may be costly. We took Lyft.
*Age 21+
*Ambiance: 4; quaint, but somewhat roomy. Decor is nice including the seating and the lighting.
*Food: 1; Pretty much nonexistent, you should eat before you go. There is a restuarant next door.
*Drinks 3; The taste is good and the quantity is good, they are just extremely overpriced, and that could be the culture/cost of living here (I'm from Atlanta). I eat around in different states often and I've never paid $23 for a Patron Marg not $25 for top shelf LIT. The drinks are with between 12-15 or 15-18.
*Hookah 5; Very thoughtfully made, taste was good, pricing ($40) fair based on the outcome. 3 free sets of coals.
*Cigar N/A- didn't try one.
*Staff 4; Very observant and attending. So you do get what you pay for, but as others started to come in, I had to flip my own coal and flag someone down for a check.
*Bill 2; Will be a shocker if you haven't been here or haven't read this ( ), but again a bit overpriced, not really a bit to be honest, quite a bit. BUT something that is not mentioned, EXPECT ADDED GRATUITY OF 15%, no matter your party size. With those prices, for smaller parties, it should be announced or at customer discretion. And my husband and I are tippers, so we probably would have left about 12% anyways, there were just more surprises than expected.

We have been to this place a couple times with my husband a couple of years ago. Everything (service, food, etc) was excellent!
We went there for my mom s 60th Birthday (it was a party of 7) and were so disappointed! We ordered drinks and my mom s drink wasn t good, we asked to change it, our waiter called for a manager who started to explain that they can t do it, because liquor is expensive and she is loosing money. She agreed to do it as an exception after a few minutes. Since my drink hasn t arrived yet at the time I asked our waiter if he could go easy on alcohol, he said the drink is done and he can t change anything.

We were done with apps and all the plates were collected. Then we were waiting for 10-15 minutes for main course. When main course started to finally being served (all plates were covered), the waiter asked were to put the first plate, we asked what it is he said I don t remember, we are too busy today . For the record there were just a couple of tables occupied. It was a slow night!

Whenever we were celebrating anything at the restaurant, a birthday girl/boy received a desert on the house. Here it wasn t the case! We mentioned about Birthday when we came as well as I mentioned it in notes when making reservation.

The food was much better before as well as service! I don t know if management changed since 2017, but whatever changes happed, they ruined the place!

Excellent food worst service I had. I called and made reservations and they still didn't have enough place settings for my group. We ended up sharing table napkins. We had to serve ourselves water. And when I asked to speak to the manager I was told he was tied up and was given our waitress to speak to who defended her service. Mind you the restaurant was not even close to being packed. There was probably 4 groups. For the money we paid not worth the service we received but once again the food was amazing.

Food is just fantastic, bursting with rich Moroccan flavor. Great variety of traditional kebabs, tagines and couscous plates. B'stilla to die for. Service is very friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere transports you to a restaurant in Marrakech. One of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Be sure to grab a reservation online if you're going during a busy dinner time.

Outstanding! I was blown away, what a great place to celebrate with friends, the decor is so exotic and unique! the food was super flavorful, a lot of vegan options that taste Amazing, (I am not vegan but a lot of my friends are )homemade hummus and eggplant dip, the marinated olives were a good way to start, so delicious, forget about the store bought hummus this is the real deal, the couscous with veggies was so tasty, tiny tasty pasta served with 6 different and caramelized onion, my friends were all happy with their meals, we all agreed that the lamb was the best in town, the short ribs were sweet yet salty smothered in a delicious brown sauce full of flavors, the rose Sangria was great, we finished by having moroccan tea and baklava and that was just delicious, this is my favorite place to go from now on.

We stayed in Boston for a weekend from NY and were missing good hookah badly. This place has a great vibe and nice decor but what REALLY made it was the service. A gentleman named Elias (Eli) stopped by and MADE OUR NIGHT. Listen to his recommendations! We had the best drinks and our hookah lasted so long. I believe the guy making them was named John - he really helped us out. But truly, Eli's warmth and hospitality turned a kind of blah night into a wonderful night - we're sorry we missed you there next night. Seriously stop by and make sure John sets up your hookah and try to be in Eli's section: You will not regret it! We can't wait to come back! - 4 ladies from NY <3

Was my first experience at a hookah bar, and it was pretty relaxed and easy to navigate. Friendly and helpful staff are more than willing to answer any questions to set you on the right path. The product is great quality, too.

One of the best restaurants in the heart of Boston. Exquisite Moroccan cuisine, just like home ! The salmon tagine and the couscous royale are delicious ! Love the decoration and the atmosphere, the service was also very good!

Amazing experience!! They had a dj, belly dancer and the drinks were amazing. Fun servers and the food was good too. Was so surprised. Only thing I wish is that they stayed open a little later but I m definitely coming here again!!

Excellent place to relax and enjoy with your friends. The staff was very prompt and friendly. The only downside that i felt was wrong is, that they charge you 12 % gratuity without your consent and just put you in a very awkward position.

RESTAURANT REVIEW...Their Morrocan theme decor gest you right in the mood for the food. If only their food itself was as exciting as their decorations. Their dishes were good, but not great. Their plates were perfectly presented, but the food lacked any depth of flavor. The prices are quite high, especially for the suburb of Charlestown. For this reason, I expected their food to be exceptional.
PERSONAL NOTE: I was left with the runs that night, which could have
been from the food...or smoking the hookah for over an hour in their lounge.

HOOKAH LOUNGE REVIEW...Their lounge, located downstairs, under the restaurant, has a dark, smokey mystery about it. We enjoyed our hookah experience, and, surprisingly for non-smokers, our lungs were not overwhelmed by this second hand smoke filled cellar.

BELLY DANCER REVIEW...Although both belly dancers were talented, ONLY 1 SEEMED TO ENJOY HERSELF, by smiling at people and making eye contact. (Other reviewers note the same thing) The dancers only came out for 5+ MINUTES, and ONLY ONCE AN HOUR. We wanted 5 minutes 2-3x/hour.

SECRET: The lounge staff sometimes allege $25 minimum/person,
but they will waive it when you come from their restaurant.
They also automatically add a 15% gratuity in the lounge.
No one tells you about this, so you might end up tipping twice.

A complete disappointment. There are very few Moroccan restaurants in Boston and I had been looking forward to coming to Tangierino for my birthday last night. I didn't think when calling the day before to ask if they still served Moroccan food (silly me) -- The menu is now Spanish tapas only. When we arrived at 8pm, we were told the dining area was closed for the night and only the Hookah lounge downstairs was open (which also only served tapas, even though the hostess said they had Moroccan plates). All of this could have been prevented by 1, updating their damn Google listing and website, and 2, not being misinformed when we called about the 7:45/8pm wait times the day before. I am sure the food, ambience, and what have you are all fine (definitely not organization skills, though), but I am posting this here in case I can prevent any disappointment for someone else.

The food was OK, but nothing special. I asked for straight shot of vodka and they brought with melted ice. They have valley no sign how much it cost, long waiting time to get car back. When I got my car , they ask for $22, after I gave them a $5 tips. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!!

Not the best hookah place. Very expensive $$$$, the service has gone down from 2 years ago, and prices went up. The lounge ventilation is poor, particularly on weekends, when it s busier than usual. Not worth spending your money there.

Bad service at the bar upstairs. Had nothing on the drink menu. A group of 13 of us wanted to go downstairs to the hooka bar and the staff rudely told us it s a $50 minimum per person 4 different times. We got it. We were willing to spend the money but felt like they were trying to get the point across to scare us away. Needless to say, we went to a club instead

Very tasty food in a calm street, very good service ! Went there for lunch outside of lunch time and I ve been welcomed warmly with some free tasty appetizers ! Food came in a fancy original typical marocain plates! Meat was cooked tender and smelled nice! Was not expecting such a good quality ! Tea and coffee are home made and comes with a variety of cookies! Keep it like this !

Hookah is supposed to be social and relaxing. This place is neither. I regret ever going in this place and even more so knowing I spent $120+ for two drinks, two hummus plates and one hookah. Everything is overpriced, and the music is too loud to talk even to the person next to you. Did I mention the giant TVs everywhere? What a nightmare.

So excited to find this place not only open on Christmas, but also tucked away in a charming neighborhood. The atmosphere was exotic and every bite of food was flavorful and the best Moroccan food we ever ate.

Place is good and but the waiters r so rude in hookah place in basement. They don't know how to talk to the customers or respect them. Super rude guy(Waiter/In management have earphone on it). He was so rude that after telling him about the issue he said I don't have time to talk to u and Gdn8. They forget the order n keep on asking again n again what u ordered sorry we Forgot.

We asked in advance to have 2 separate checks in a party of 10. Then we were offered a handwash in rosewater, which was nice. Then we waited AN HOUR for our food, which was not exceptional. Then we were told to wait AGAIN because the waiter needed to consult with the manager to split the check. The manager arrived and said that it was impossible to split the check. Unhappiness ensued. They did reduce the bill. The self-importance is a problem. The rosewater handwash is not a substitute for a routine function like splitting the check.
