I was taken to the ER, at least I believe that is where I was taken, as no one informed me of my location. I had been brought in after colliding with a car while on my bicycle. My injuries turned out to not be severe, thankfully, but upon arriving I was unsure of how badly I was injured. A nurse came in relatively shortly after being put in my room, but did not do much more than ask questions and take my blood pressure. The doctor did not come in for at least a half hour, spent approximately five minutes with me, and then left to write a prescription. Another half hour went by with no assistance, resorting to the friend with me having to leave the room to ask what was going on. All and all, this is a very inattentive, unwelcoming and inadequate hospital. I can not imagine having to go here for more serious injuries. If possible, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

This has been the WORST experience I ve ever endured as patient...I ve been waiting for over 7 hours in the wait room. When I finally get to where I needed to be I over hear nursing staff GOSSIPING and Laughing...no wonder any work ever gets done around TMH, they sit around eating and talk with their mouth full. If you were dying I suggest you stay home and die then to come here.

In the ER for 5hrs, still NOT seen. Lady next to me? 7.5hrs. Lady taken back? 4hrs Waiting Out Front. 2hrs Waiting in back. Still haven't seen a doctor. If you have to go to the ER, DON'T come here. If this is your only choice, stay home to die with your loved ones. You'd die here waiting first.

This place is horrible .-10 stars if I could .
First off you don't have enough parking then you take out the bottom parking for a sidewalk and pictures really . How many people do you see walking in there hugh waste of money and sorry design .Trust me all your customers are taking about it in the halls .I only came here because my mother in law was in here. I use the other hospital and it's great .It took 6 people to find my mother in law in the system 30 mins later and 4 different stations later we found her. Tighten up are find a company that can run it .Just my thoughts .That's why there is a review section .

After 7 hours waiting finally doctor came in and did exam. I asked if xrays were clear and he asked ME why xrays were done! He hadn't even looked at them. Basically they ordered them for no reason. That's why our insurance premiums are so high!

My husband was juat seen at the ER at this hospital. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and told repeatedly that he needed to quit drinking even tho he doesn't drink alcohol of any kind. The doctor never said what else could be the cause. What a pathetic excuse for an ER physician.

I just moved here from Chicago about 3 months ago to accept a job as an RN in the newborn NICU at TMH. I was a little worried I wouldnt fit in but my co workers have all made me feel so welcome & the HR department has walked me through mounds of paper work. I had an emergency in my personal home before my 90 day probation period was even up & they were understanding enough to let me take the day off. Tallahassee is a great little city, I enjoy the local shops (and big box stores) and lots of food choices. I hope to be at TMH until I retire.

The worst place you can count on to save your life. I went there a few months ago while I was horribly sick and had a high fever and all they did for me was a urine pregnancy test and a nose swab to see if have the flue. I was released despite all the symptoms and was diagnosed with KIDNEY INFECTION the next day at a different hospital. Not to mention that after a few weeks they sent me a $1,115 bill for endangering my life.

This review is for the TMH NE urgent care facility. I went there for a migraine. Everyone was nice, the facility was clean, and I was seen quickly. However, the nurses caring for me liked to talk about their difficult cases in the ICU. Not appropriate to discuss while attending a patient. The doctor didn't give me strong enough medication to actually get rid of the migraine, so $100 copay was flushed away. They made my ride home physically come inside to my room to pick me up, thereby exposing her toddler to germs. I was out of it, and I forgot to ask for a note excusing me from work. I called back asking for it. I must physically pick it up because they refuse to mail it to me. I'm still home recuperating from the migraine so I can't drive there to get the note. Their rules are crazy and extremely inconvenient for their patients. I won't be back.

I was reading T M H REVIEWS and was certainly taken back. My immediate family , Mom, Dad, and 4 children have been useing this hospital sence the early 80's and would never have rated it less than 4 stares. Serious surgeries, 4 complete knee replacements, 2 hand surgeries, 5 or 6 deliveries, several surgeries for my wife , on and on. I'm the father of this clan and I can speak for then. We have used many of T M H facilities and feel they are better than industry satndard.
WE APPRECIATE TALLAHASSEE REGIONAL MEMORIAL CENTER. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Where should I start. This was one first time at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Hospital and I must say I am so impress with the staff. They re so professional and welcome, before and after my father surgery they made sure that I was as comfortable as I can be. The RNs and doctors are knowledgeable and helpful. I will highly recommend this hospital to anyone.

Ive been here about 4 times in the last 2 months for my gallbladder. When I first came I was told it was just sludge then the p.a. told me today that do actually have gallstones but I will be released because my gallbladder isn't infected. I never saw the doctor at all. I have been vomiting for 3 weeks at least twice a day and all they did was give me pain and nausea medicine and send to home which doesn't work because I am trying to conceive and i don't want to mask symptoms or get addicted to taking pain medication. The pain has been excruciating which is why I came back so many times and I was told if it got bad that my gallbladder would be removed and now they are saying they wont remove it unless it's infected. I am not sure what to think now but im considering just going back to Gainesville(home) to get my surgery done. In other news, my nurse was very friendly.

I do not live in Tallahassee. Just mapped the closest ER and went . Big mistake! When checking in, I explained that I was only visiting the area and did not know the hospitals there. Also stated that I have very good insurance. They should ve mentioned right from the start that they were full . I would have immediately gone elsewhere . Had a fractured ankle. Was placed in the general waiting room for 4 & 1/2 hours before I saw a doctor. My face to face time with the doctor was approximately 3 minutes at best.
X-rays, splint, Follow up with an orthopedic when you get home . That s was it. My ankle had a knot the size of a baseball sticking out of it. Not one word from anyone while I sat and waited. Requested to leave, was told it would be AMA and my Insurance would not pay for the x-rays if I left. Basically held hostage for four hours with my leg propped up the waiting room chair.

THE WORST Hospital experience I ve ever had hands ...

THE WORST Hospital experience I ve ever had hands down. I m currently 39 weeks pregnant I went in because I believe my water was leaking. I go In the staff at the front desk didn t take my problem seriously literally the lady was laughing and smiling when I told her my problem. I do my paper work go in the back... Very crowded with other pregnant women I m talking overwhelming amounts. While I m in the back I tell them I believed my water was leaking and I m having some bad contractions. They tell me to go back in waiting area and they will call me back. A hour goes by nothing. Another hour goes by nothing. Then another hour goes by talking to my mom on phone still nothing. Another hour. A total of 3 hours and 30 mins I finally had enough and got up left getting no care they disregarded me and my unborn child. I understand that labor and delivery gets crowded but this is ridiculous how I was treated as unimportant. This bieng my first pregnancy I have many questions and concerns. I wasn t the only lady who left I seen a couple walk out also another complain while walking out. This was my hospital to deliver at and refuse changing hospitals.

My experience was great with some off the staff such nurse, dietary, cna'scleaning crew, and transporters. The Doctors had no compassion what so ever and that made us very worried with our family member being there.I even wanted too move our love one from there.I'm hurt and disappointed, because my love one wanted too come there for her medical treatment.Something needs too be done about people who don't love what they went too shchool for.I wouldn't recommend my family too go there any more.

DONT GO HERE !!! THEY KILLED MY MOM !!!!! No direction, nobody who cares in administration. Dr told my mom she would never have the same life before she went in . While it may have been some what true , advancement in medicine happens all the time and to give some one no HOPE as a DR is APPALLING. I Don't ever wish bad on anyone but I hope he's dead and his family suffered like I did . Go to hell TMH !!!!

I had surgery a little over a week ago, where I was admitted to TMH for one night. I couldn't have been happier with the care that I received before, during, and after my procedure. I am now home doing well and recovering very nicely; thanks in large part to the great care that I received!

I had to bring my husband to the ER so he could have a knee looked at by a doctor. We tried to make an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon, but that was at least a week away and the knee got so swollen and painful that we had no choice but to come to the ER. The waiting area was so cold we had to ask for blankets to try and stay comfortable. Everyone else there was in a coat or had a blanket too. People were complaining that they had been waiting for at least 5 hours and still hadn't seen a doctor. The employees at the check-in desk can't tell you anything about where you stand on the list either. It took us 6 hours before we saw a doctor and that was after spending an hour sitting in an ER room waiting on a doctor. It was over 9 hours before we were finished and left. We understand that there are protocols for seeing people, but 6 hours? When we finally got to an ER room the nurse told us that we should be glad it only took 6 hours to see a doctor...if we had to make an appointment with our primary care doctor it might take a week to see them. Really? We tried to explain that we were traveling through the area and going home to our doctor was not a possibility, but she really didn't want to hear that. The business model at this hospital is very broken and needs to be addressed. It makes us wonder about the quality of health care in this area and whether we should really consider relocating here.

Took my wife here when she was displaying severe symptoms from Covid. I saw a women come in via ambulance only to be left in the lobby for hours. I saw a boy laying on the floor coughing up blood only to be given a blanket. I also saw a man who appeared to be having a seizure get yelled at because his mask fell down. I would not be surprised if this hospital is hit with a major lawsuit. Avoid this place at all costs. Staff does not care about you.

Labor and delivery "birthing center" needs immediate training in compassion and understanding. Dear friend delivered there what nightmare..She left in a chair in waiting room for 2 hours when they finally checked her she was 7cm and had been in full blown labor..I will be writing letters to the administration as well as her doctor concerning this. I live in S. Florida and have been present for many births in my 56 yrs of life and this was the bottom of the barrell. If patients annoy you I dare say you are in the wrong field. I plan to write and begin new blogs informing all new mothers to look for an alternative place to give birth. The stress level at this hospital is felt from admitting to discharge. Shame on the L&D staff for their arrogance and lack of compassion.

I have been here twice in the past two days with severe back pain. They don't give me anything for the pain, make me wait 5 hours on tests and then try to discharge me, saying nothing is wrong. Dude, I did not miss work just to have a say off in the hospital. I also don't have a car so I had to uber here. I am here now again in so much pain and I have had to fight them for something for my pain.

Also, some of these nurses are lazy AF and have serious attitude. I wish I could take a picture. I am in a room that looks directly at the nurses station. There are 3 wemen nurses that have not moved in an inch. They are just chatting and gossiping.

I will never come back!

The hospital is chronically understaffed. Nurses ...

The hospital is chronically understaffed. Nurses are worn thin and reduced to just handing out meds. There s no time for patient care. This is not a new problem.

It took over a week for TMH Home Healthcare to find me. Those were tough days. I felt quite abandoned.
While the home health care folks were nice they did not have the wherewithal to advocate for me.

The TMH affiliated neurosurgeon washed his hands of me after he closed in what was a fairly serious spinal canal surgery. None of his staff were the least bit sympathetic or responsive to the intense pain I was in. Three months post op and I m still in pain and can t walk properly.

TMH is undergoing a major expansion which begs the question how will the bedraggled staff cope with new demands. Clearly, 24 new surgical suites are a cash cow but what about patient care?

In my view, the mediocrity is a community problem. Most Tallshasseans with means leave town for serious health concerns. Capital Health Plan should use its considerable leverage to demand change.

Hospitals and doctors are being squeezed by the medical industrial complex dominated by big pharma, equipment manufacturers and insurance companies. Patients pay the price. It s all about the money. Don t know if there s anyway out of the morass.

There used to be a time when TMH was, without question, the far better choice for any issues that needed to be seen at a hospital in Tally. Now, not so much. If you have a baby in the Women's Pavilion, you have a 50-50 shot of getting competent staff to help you, especially the nurses. Apparently it depends on the shift. And the ER is atrocious, with both wait times and staff competency.

My wife and I stayed for 4 hours in the ER to learn that they could not do anything for our 3 month old son's fever. I don't mind that they could not do anything. I mind that we had to STAY there for 4hours (if you leave early, insurance won't cover it). They even knew we had not given him Tylenol, and they did not give him any. Oh "a few minutes" really means 30 minutes. They all like to use that phrase; just take a sack lunch.

Was sent over to TMH from doctor's office to be admitted through the ER, said it would get me in quicker for stress test. Was in ER 6 hours then admitted to a room. Was in room for 20 hours without ever seeing a cardiologist or any other doctor. Was told not to eat or drink after 12 that night. Still no test or visit until the rush to get me a nuclear stress test at 2pm. At 4pm, doctor comes in and said he had good news and bad. He saw something on test, but that they had not done the complete test , but was sending me home and to come back next week for rest of the test. Got call the next morning from Nuclear Medicine and said that they had not completed the test and that they wanted me to come back that morning to complete test. In all, I had sent 30 hours and in a rush they had not completed the test and instead of doing it all in one day and not be in a rush, wanted me to come back. Told them no thanks, I would go back to Atlanta and get a heart cath. One nurse advised me that she would go back to Atlanta to get my heart fixed and that she would not use that doctor. Just WOW!!

This hospital has a issue hiring by who a person knows more than who is actually a good fit/would do a good job. Also, it seems as though they have unfair ratios for staff to patients and someone at the top must be looking to make a buck over actually helping human beings.

The nursing staff is so uneducated that I don't believe they know their left from their right. my grandmother was put on the 5th floor she was dying and the nurses there were loudly goofing off and playingin the halls. Thay couldn't even take the time to put in for her to get Tylenol it took them 4 hours just to get it to her. My aunt's and me finally had to stand there and watch them put it in. By the time they got around to giving her an IV she was so dehydrated her veins had collapsed. I truly believe they killed her before her time.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This place is horrible and they don t care for the patients. It starts on a Thursday night when my husband wanted to get help so he went to TMH ER and was told they would detox him. Well they released him and said we don t do detox for that. Well fast forward to early Saturday morning he lost his mind and jumped from the 3rd floor of a building and was a trauma alert. He had broken ribs and a fractured scapula. He was discharged on the streets with no sling for his broken scapula thankfully his sponsor sent him to Apalachee to get detoxed. Then later that Saturday afternoon I get a call that he needs to come back in because they left a big piece of glass in his neck that they missed due to him being in a c collar when Apalachee took him to get the glass out the doctor came in and said you should of never been discharged. So if you have an addiction be prepared to get no help or compassion from this place. They would rather you die then help you when you want to get help. I HATE this hospital.

TMH is hands down the best hospital I ve ever been in. The hospital is clean, smells nice, and they do everything they can to protect everyone against Covid19! The staff/nurses are amazing! Everyone was very friendly to me and treated me with the upmost respect. A special thanks to a lady named Gladys in registration, my night nurse Charisma, my prep before surgery nurse (I cannot remember her name but she PRAYED with me before surgery and it meant so much), and my recovery nurse Christian, who was one of the kindest people I ve ever met. All of the surgery nurses were amazing and very respectful to me....and the biggest shout out to Dr. Bavikati for being the best EP anywhere! My surgery was successful and I already feel amazing! I live 90 miles away and would travel to TMH again for healthcare if needed.

Die. If you're coming here for an emergency ,just die in peace regardless of what state you're in. The wait time is absolutely ridiculous and I have never seen a more unorganized hospital ever. Asked for a wait time and the lady at the front said she couldn't give a timeframe. If this is in EMERGENCY care facility you'd think they'd treat it like you're in an emergency, based off the other reviews it also seems many many other people have the same issues going on and that it is not being acknowledged or getting fixed.

This is by far the worst hospital I have ever experienced. The staff was friendly but none of them seem to be very knowledgeable when it comes to medical advice, which is horrible since this is a medical facility. They simply write you a quick prescription for some medication and send you off.

The billing department is terrible as well. There are about 10 different billing departments who will all bill you at the same time for the same thing. Even with your health insurance information on file, they still bill you the full medical bill until you have to call them over and over again to correct it.

Absolutely ridiculous and sad that this is the primary healthcare facility in Tallahassee, FL. If you have an alternative hospital you can visit please go there!

My Mom was taken by ambulance to this hospital. The Dr's in the ER were great but as soon as they put her in ICU we were not allowed in and no one told us anything for 3 HOURS. Wish I didn't have to put any stars! The incompetence of this hospital astounds me. My husband is an employee through a contract. He doesn't work their permanently, but has been assigned to this hospital for at least 8 months. Yet, the idiots doing the payroll can't get his paycheck correct! I don't know the excuse they gave other times, but this last time, they said it was a new payroll system. So... what was the problem every other time? So, these idiots only put 12 hours of pay on his check that was deposited in the bank when he actually worked 36 hours. When his check came in, the health ins payment also came out, leaving very little of the check in the bank for bills and necessities. We called them and let them know of their mistake, to which they responded with their BS excuse, and said the rest of the money would be in our bank the following day. I checked the bank the following day, and yes, more money is in the bank, with close to $300 missing. We looked at the new check stub and realized that the health insurance payment came out a second time from the same pay period. I called the insurance company and they said I had to contact payroll at this hospital to have it corrected. I then called the hospital payroll and they state that it isn't their problem! Like hell it isn't!!! They are the idiots who screwed up to begin with!!! So in short, they have morons working in the payroll office. With the way they are handle business, they may do a better job working at the local McDonald's flipping burgers. Can't wait till my husband gets a new assignment and leaves this pathetic excuse for a hospital behind for good! In the mean time, if this BS happens again, I will be contacting a lawyer and sue for the stress and aggravation they are putting a pregnant woman through.

When you walk in the the parking garage, the newly remodeled entrance was aesthetically pleasing until you looked closer. There was dirt and trash all of the stairs and the floor. As we proceeded to the room, hallways looked ok but smelled musty. Once in the room, the floors were dingy and still had what looked like bodily fluid on the floors, wall, and chairs. There was someone elses, what looked like pubic hair, on the AC and all around the bottom of the ac unit. Staff had apologized about the concern for cleanliness of the room and had it "mopped" up, which basically just smeared everything around. By far the dirtiest hospital I have ever been in. Just sad.

My niece fell and fractured her tibia in multiple ...

My niece fell and fractured her tibia in multiple places, as well as her talus. We were in Alabama and she was transported via ambulance to local ER. They were unable to do the surgery there, but strongly advised she go home to a trauma center. I was not able to accompany her into the ED at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, due to coronavirus precautions, which I understand. She was in extreme pain, crying and asked twice for something for the pain, but nothing was given. The ED physician did not even look at the x-rays, with multiple views from the Alabama hospital. While I understand his desire to acquire their own, he discounted my niece s comments regarding what she was told by a family friend, who looked at the x-rays. The friend is a board certified orthopedic surgeon & he even asked a colleague at a University Hospital to review the x-rays & they both stated she needed surgery immediately. The ED doctor from TMH only ordered x-rays of the tibia & fibula, not of the Talus bone. The ER physician did not communicate with my niece regarding the results of the x-rays or of the CT scan that he finally ordered, nor had he read the results of the CT Scan before discharging her. She knows this because the nurse told her the results were not available when the order to discharge was made. He discharged her and then left, according to the nurse. The ED physician did not give my niece any reason for discharging her with multiple fractures in a long bone and the talus bone. When the talus bone is fractured there is an increased risk of avascular necrosis. Which means that she could lose the blood flow to the rest of her foot. He discounted her voiced concerns. He saw her twice very briefly and failed to refer her to an orthopedic specialist after stating he would so. He recommended she follow up with her primary care physician in five days. I believe, as a retired Healthcare Professor at a University & a retired practicing health care professional, that his conduct was not only unprofessional, but very probably negligent and unethical. She felt abandoned & helpless. Her family is beyond frustrated and if there are any complications due to the ED physician s action, there will be legal consequences.

Staff on the 3rd floor was rude and mistreated my grandmother.. They wouldn t answer light when she pressed it for help. Took them 45 mins to finally come and check on her. She had to ask for daily care and when she got it they they gave her minimum effort. We spoke with the manager and she acted as if she didn t care.

This ER sucks. Brought my 2 month old in with a fever and labored breathing and sat there for quite some time before I said forget it and went to capital regional instead -- no wait and was in and out

Literally the worst place ever. Waited for over 8 hours, didn't know that was even possible. I'm surprised I lasted so long. Very poorly ran and unorganized hospital. Watched a guy roll passed me and laugh about how he just got there and got put on express because of a sprain ankle. That was 7 hours in to our waiting btw. Overall, I hate this place.

When calling the emergency room for a friend who was haveing trouble breathing, also haveing severe night sweats and haveing
severe chest pain , who also had swollen lymph nodes . I can't believe what the reply was . When i called they transferred me to the ER . A Mr Kevin responded with its not an emergency . When asking to speak with the head nurse he hung up the phone . What kind of helth care system is this . This is prime example of how our helth care system is failing in America . We're on our way to the ER now . This is a terrible hospital . For what they are chargeing . I should receive A 5 star treatment . If he dies I will be suing the hospital . And I will make sure that Mr Kevin loses his license . That I can promise .

So I went to the THM emergency room because my blood sugar was high. The staff there made it seem like it was no big deal and I shouldn't have come. They just gave me fluids and monitored my glucose level for a few hours. In the past i have been admitted to the hospital for a day or two for the same issue. The emergency room was dirty and the equipment looked very outdated. The doctor only came for 5 minutes and then left. The worst part is they just sent me a bill because they didn't bill my insurance. Even after they took down my insurance information twice. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because the awesome nurses I encountered. Overall if you can go to another hospital don't go to TMH.

Went to Urgent Care with a stress fracture in my foot. Staff were extremely rude and unhelpful- they even mocked me and wouldn't believe I broke my foot simply by walking in bad shoes. Xray technician was similarly unfriendly. Leaving on crutches, I had to fumble for every door handle and none of the staff members around thought to come help me out to my car. Nurse practitioner was nice and seemed to know her stuff. Pretty efficient for an urgent care clinic. Only complaint is with staff.

The hospital is called the morgue for good reason.

Stay away! Medications are forgotten and patients left unattended. The few good people are vastly outnumbered by idiots. (I am being kind) The building is dirty and unhygienic. The floor plans and signage are confusing. They over use traveling nurses who are either sadistic or do not care. Avoid at all costs unless you are going to the Woman s Pavilion.

I give the Woman s Pavilion 5 stars! WP is excellent. Clean and well designed. Wonderful staff. The nurses and doctors are amazing. It feels like a completely different hospital.

My husband was neglected by staff in the ER for serious allergic reaction. He was put in a treatment room for 2 hours with chest pains and serious hives all over his body. Doctor came in and gave him script without examining him or doing EKG. This was the second visit within a 12 hr period. Had to go to another hospital ER to get proper care. Clearly negligence by staff.
