I was really excited to be working with Talent Inc. Unfortunately, even after following directions, their system would not allow me to upload my files to the client. When you start out, the Quality Assurance (QA) team requires you to send your files in so they can criticize them. The head of QA, Caleb Sanders, is unprofessional and when asked questions will make you feel useless and dumb as a contractor.
I was doing this because I enjoy it, but also because I wanted to make some extra money. But after speaking with a client and seeing how much they paid for this work to be done and writers only making $23 of that amount to make a resume, cover letter AND LinkedIn profile, I was bothered. It always takes days to get things done because QA is never happy. I read this kind of a review before I signed on and I wish I listened to it. I did all of the work and never paid because he was so rude. Their customer service needs work.
I was a freelance resume writer with Talent, Inc., and be careful; if you go long enough without picking up work, they will delete your account with no notification, though I assume you can re-apply right after. I didn't have much experience with their customer service department. No opportunities for advancement that I saw, but then that's to be expected for a freelance position. Pretty boring job, but that's not their fault. The worst part is when your client actually has a decent resume already; you still have to rewrite 33% of it, or else they'll send it right back to you for more editing. Kind of like a plagiarism scanner. Fair enough, I suppose, because what are you being paid for otherwise?
