Simply magnificent palace with the best hospitality ever!! A truly relaxing and luxurious experience.

Well maintained and obviously a must-visit if you are in Jodhpur.

Beautiful architecture, well maintained and situated on a hill. Major portion is owned by hotel and small portion runs a museum which is open to public but having some ticket.

Visited the attached museum. Decent display of royal artefacts of the post independence period displaying the complacency that sets in every royal family in its last few generations. The display is primarily made up of Edwardian and Victorian artefacts that were used by the royal family. Highly recommend a visit to Mehrangarh fort to compare the decay in the latter generations.

Extremely good architecture covering a large area. Presently a part of palace is used for residence of royal family another part is used for hotel purpose and only the remaining portion is open for the visitors. The museum is located there and entry fee is collected for that. The middle gate is not open for visitors even taking photographs is not allowed from the front. A nice lawn is in front is open and the garden in front is not open for visitors.

Is quite beautiful in appearance as well as the time I have been to thee is great, it's great place in Rajasthan is quite elegant in appearance too.
The palace was initially known as the Chittar Palace as it was located on the Chittar Hill, the highest point in Jodhpur. It is divided in to three parts of which one part is a luxury heritage Taj Palace Hotel that came into existence in 1972. Out of the other two parts, one serves as the residence to the current members of the royal family headed by Maharaja of Jodhpur Gaj Singh and the other part is a museum, which displays the belongings and the 20th century history of the Jodhpur Royal Family Wow Nice Place

The architecture of the palace is awesome. It gives the feel how ancient Kings use you to stay royally in palace. The museum part displays things used by Kings and his family's. The place is must visit if you happen to visit jodhpur.

The palace serves as the royal residence of the royal family of Jodhpur.

The Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur was formerly known as the Chittar Palace and is located on the Chittar Hill, which is the highest point in the city. The older building was renovated in the year 1929 by Maharaja Umaid Singh and the construction of the new building concluded in the year 1943.

The Umaid Bhavan Palace, Jodhpur is spread over an area of around 26 acres and is surrounded by a sprawling lawn and garden. The palace was designed by renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lanchester and is made with a blend of eastern and western architectural styles. The important part of the palace is the magnificent cupola with a blend of Renaissance and Rajput styles. The interior of the palace is decorated with lavish furniture and elegant artwork according to the Art Deco style.

A part of the Umaid Bhavan Palace has now been transformed into a hotel managed by the Taj Group. The palace consists of three parts namely, a luxury Taj Palace Hotel, the residence of the royal family, and a public viewing area where there is a museum. Truly a luxury hotel. If you've ever dreamed of living in a palace and being treated like royalty then look no further. The Umaid Bhawan Palace hotel in Jodhpur India is an actual palace of a local king that has been transformed into a luxury hotel. The top floor of the palace is reserved for the royal family members that still live/ visit. If you are lucky you might even see the "Maharaja" aka the prince or descendant of the ruling dynasty stop by to mingle with dinner guests. The rooms are divine, the service is superb and the food delicious. You only live once right.... go for it! Its a fantastic experience.

Great. But As a tourist we can Just see the museum dedicated to the king and his family and a one side view of the palace.

The public side was ok, small museum and a little bit of the house. Kind of a tourist trap as a museum or castle, though I would think the hotel is very nice to stay in.

This is a very beautiful palace . But prices of things here are too expensive. Please try to notice on that point.
