Really cool stuff similar to Pier One Imports, but just didn't have anything that really caught my eye or jumped out at me. Little over priced.

so I just called to get find out how to check the balance of my gift card .. they tell me my gift card isn't any good anymore ?! (due to the original owners not compensating for any gift cards sold before going it is business) WHAT THE HELL !! I'm super disappointed .. I sure did like this store ..

Tai Pan is very mixed. It is a fun place to go and see decorations, like another review mentioned it is fun for dates or to kill time, but it is pretty expensive. Their normal prices are way over priced, but they do have great sales where the prices are cheap. Especially if you go after a holiday, all decorations are 50-75% off. So those sales and prices get a 5 star, and the normal prices a 2. Customer service is very low.

Nice place but more suited for my wife's decore taste. Clean, well lit and easy to get around.

It's fine. I can recall a time when Tai Pan was reasonably priced. The products are nice but and decorative but way over priced.

I have been going to taipan for years for neighbor gift & client gift baskets- I save so much money & so much more personal gifts then ordering else where! Selection for my tree is always on point! Love the location at university mall.

Their selection isn't as extensive as I have seen in other locations. I was underwhelmed for the most part, but there are some pieces that are beautifully unique and serve as an inspiration.

These guys should be spending jail time as they close down their business. My kids bought a $20 gift card for my wife. She went to use it as part of her $100+ purchase but was informed they could only accept the gift card on highly discounted merchandise. Does this count as part of the #metoo movement?

I would give this store a Zero for customer service if I could. I was given a gift card last year for my birthday and tried to use it this week at the Orem Location. The Cashier told me they were no longer accepting gift cards and would not allow me to redeem it for the items i was purchasing. She then showed me a sign that said Tai Pan was no longer accepting gift cards with a phone number to call for assistance or questions. I have tried calling the phone number 5 times with no answer and a mailbox that has not yet been set up . I would like to know who decided the store could accept money for a gift card then not redeem it. The sign at the cashier s desk said that Tai Pan is under new administration . Who cares?!? When you acquire an existing company, you are accepting any debts that company has accrued. Tai Pan has literally stolen money from the consumer with no accountability. The cashiers need to be given more information to answer questions and they need to be able to redeem any gift card still in circulation. If Tai Pan decides to no longer sell new gift cards, that is fine. But the New Administration is horrible and needs to find a better system.

Terrible customer service. Employees are rude. Very low-quality stuff that you can't return or even exchange after 2 weeks, period, even with a receipt, no exceptions- including faulty merchandise.

I am happy there is a Tai Pan locally. This location is a far cry from what the Sandy store used to be. If it weren't for the addicting gnomes, I doubt we would have bought anything. #missingoursandytaipanwinterwonderland

this place has hundreds of unique items that you can't find just about anywhere else very interesting and eye-catching store the customer service was great and there was no pressure wide open in worldwide mirrorsof all sorts which I really like located right in the middle of the mall

I really enjoy Tai Pan Trading. The prices are fair and they get new product in regularly. They have good sales and clearance as well. The store is always clean when I've been there.

It's a fun store to explore. Especially on a date looking for cool decorations

Beautiful items but way under stocked. Looked like they were going out of business.

They used to be a such a cool place with tons of affordable, adorable home goods and decor. Now, everything is over priced and there isn t a ton to pick from. We ve had a gift card for a few years and have tried spending it several times, but had a hard time finding anything that we loved. Well, today we went in to use it, found something decent to only be told that they were bought out two years ago and because they are a different company, they won t accept my gift card. If you are a different company, then change your name. If you buy a company, you are not only buying the name, but their obligations. Great customer loyalty. Thanks.

Was extremely hard to find and I was very disappointed once we got there. This definitely is not the same Tai Pan and their prices are ridiculously high from the Thai pan I remember

Selection was minimal and only one gal at the counter. Couldn't find anyone else to help me. This place has gone down hill since they closed the exceptional store in Sandy. Such a bummer.

I was really excited to go get Christmas decorations from here, because in the past they've had a great selection! When I walked in, the store was so bare it looked like they were going out of business. They don't have a good selection of ornaments (just color variations of the same bulb), and the store is overrun with gnomes. So if you like gnomes & round tree ornaments, this is the place for you. If you're looking for something else, I would suggest looking elsewhere for your Christmas decor.

Lots of cool home decor, when they're on sale, it's a great price.

Terrible customer service and inability to return or exchange within the 15 day window and a receipt. The employees did not greet us or provide us with any solutions just blank stares.

Lot of variety for home decorations. Sometimes the prices are high. With patience, sales and coupons, you can find the right price on items.

I love getting lost here for an hour , or it's convenient to pop in and just pick up a quick gift. They have a great selection of the melty waxes. The prices are fair. Great place to get inspired, or ready for a Holiday, or a fun event! I have had good success with the clothing section & jewelry

Went to exchange an item I received as a gift at my bridal shower last week and the cashier working today 10/23 with blonde hair (didn't catch her name) was rude as soon as I walked up and told her I had a return. She then tells me ok the card you paid with will be refunded. Um what? This was a gift to ME that somebody else bought. So what am I supposed to do say "hey, I returned the item you bought for me and the money is back on your card so can you just give me the money back?" No. That is rude. So I will count that gift as a loss. Thanks a lot.

This place is heaven for crafters. That's why I hate going in there with certain people. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because their prices aren't amazing.

New owners. Updating and face lifting. Can't wait to see it open and all the new products and the new updates.

Customer service was terrible. If you have a gift card they are stealing your money and not honoring paid for cards.

Not impressed with selection and prices! Prices were more expensive then Evans Gatehouse. Way too expensive!

Managers are not helpful. They give the wrong number intentionally because the owe money but refuse to pay. Bad business practices. Dont work for or with this company.

Unbelievable variety of products but at times pricier than necessary but good deals are available if you search.

Hands down worst customer service I've ever had. Bought a gift card online and my account was immediatly charged, but a month later still no gift card. Tried multiple times to call someone about it and I either got a disconnect line or "someone will call you back."

Eventually they told me that the are owned by a bank and gave me that number, then after a week of trying to call that bank, they told me there was nothing they could do. So basically my $25 just disappeared. This company is bankrupt and lying to their customers about it.

Lots of great options. Everything is marked on sale to make you feel you are getting a better deal, but everything has clearly been marked up in price before it was marked on sale. Employees are not helpful and will not go out of their way to provide assistance. Selection is wide but everything is priced individually. While this can allow for some advanced creativity, it also minimizes the ability to make the store s visit a quick one.

So what time do you really open? Like when you ll answer the phone and people show up? Because it s not ten.

Got a store credit gift card, went to use it and they said they couldn t accept it because they were getting a new name. I asked what the new name was and they said they didn t have it yet. So they are using the tai pan name and won t take my tai pan gift card? I m sure if they scanned the barcode it would work just fine. So, they just took my $53. That s stealing. How can you feel good about that? I returned items to the store, they issued me a gift card, and I went back to the SAME location and they wouldn t accept it. How do you sleep at night knowing you are stealing people s money? I d give zero stars if I could.

They have the worst customer service. No wonder why their business is going down. I talked to the manager and she sucks at dealing with people. I do not understand how she manages the store. Indeed, she is so stupid that she would not let me exchange an item that was broken. She must be fired since her attitude is kicking the customers out and this store is losing money because of her. I will find out her name and post more on how rude she is.

Tai Pan used to have a lot more to offer in the store. About a year or so ago they cleared out a ton of items. It isn't has fun to visit as it used to be but still a good place to go when looking for inspiration.

Some items are overpriced. But some are priced perfectly. Okay customer service. Sometimes there's not an employee to be found around checkout.

Cute stuff but way too expensive. Also they were bought out recently so they wouldn't honor my gift card. But shout out to the cool guy at the counter who discounted my stuff bc he couldn't honor the gift card.

Awesome coupons, make sure you sign up at the registers. Affordable and beautiful products!
