The occasional comedy show is always nice to go to here.

A good place for live music. It is a shame it is council run as lacks personality. Limited choice in the bar and overpriced. However they do put on some great music, comedy and theatre and support local artists so is well worth checking out what's going on and paying a visit.

We love this place! The best venue in Reading's brilliant arts scene. The management team consistently find excellent acts from ear-splitting heavy metal to intimate, emotional theatrical performances, usually for about the price of a couple of drinks.

Reliable Reading stalwart for comedy, theatre and music, staffed by ebullient regulars to ensure it's always a good night. 2 performance areas and a small bar with good prices and a line in craft ale. Latest is a creative response to Covid, both on stage with stories of sheltering, and in presentation with super safe perspex boxes to separate the audience from the actors and from each other. Friendly staff. Helpful when I went to perform in a show. But stage is small and accommodates few audience. And green rooms not big enough to accommodate many performers.

Overall experience was very good. Provision of lighting and music was good.

I'd never been before but heard wonderful things about it from ex-colleagues. I went to see Sofie Hagen with my partner and it was a lovely atmosphere. Great beer on draft, lovely staff and an excellent venue!

Great intimate venue. Hadn't been before so wasn't sure what to expect but it was a lovely surprise. Small theatre with good sound and lighting. Nice bar area as well. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere and am looking forward to going back again, hoping they have some more acts that we can go and see soon :)

South Street Arts Center was very helpful, informative and inspiring for everyone especially for the customers who are visiting at late hours.
