Tabbuli Grill Review

PLACE IS AWESOME, ATMOSPHERE IS AWESOME, HOOKAH IS AWESOME, SHANNON IS AWESOME, EVERYTHING IS AWESOME.

I m here visiting from Canada at my step brothers house who lives in Summerville. My boyfriend and I decided to come to this establishment after looking it up online and it said it closed at 2am. It was a 45 minute drive and we got there approximately at 11:50pm. We weren t greeted by anyone and we decided to seat ourselves. Once our server finally arrived with a menu we ordered a drink and a hookah. Once the hookah came out we heard another server announce Its last call . We then asked our server what does that mean exactly for the hookah and that s when she told us that they will be closing at 12. That would ve been nice to know before we ordered drinks and ordered a hookah that we only got to enjoy for 20 minutes because they were at least nice enough to let us stay while they cleaned before they came and took the hookah away from us around 12:15.

The server then told us they don t usually close this early and to come back Tuesday or Wednesday they would be open later. Wednesday night we drove down again another 45 minutes got there at 11:00pm. One of the workers was sitting with her friends at the front smoking hookah and proceed to tell us to sit anywhere someone would come over bring us a menu. We couldn t even respond back to her she turned around went back to smoking and talking to her friends. We then went to find a seat and as we were looking, one of the servers tells us that last call is at 11:00pm and we checked and it was 11:05pm. Her response was oh well yeah then we are closing shrugged us off. While the place still had many ppl still sitting there drinking and smoking. From the inexperienced, rude workers to the false times advertised online and even told by the workers, this has been one of the worst experiences I have had anywhere. I wouldn t recommend anyone goes there til there s a change in staff and management. The owner should really consider being more hands on because the amount of money lost because of these workers is just ridiculous. This isn t a one time thing clearly from the 2 times I went and if you read the other reviews the staff is a BIG problem! I gave them one star but if I could give them less I would!

The seating nice, and the outside seating with heaters was great,
I had the Tabbuli dish, I was expecting the Lebanes fresh Tabbouli, I just got the name?
The service was very good

Came here the other day with a friend of mine and had a great time! Our server, Chance was super friendly and well informed about the menu and restaurant! 10/10 would recommend

Great place to come any night for a night out. Gaby was GREAT and the atmosphere is always great. Wednesday night for the win!!!

This place was pretty damn awesome. The food was delicious; I had their falafel, and greek salad, and both were very flavorful. They have an outdoor seating and dance area with a dj, and on the Sunday I went there was a friendly international crowd. The wait staff was very courteous and attentive. It seems to have several regulars who like coming. I have asthma so I was a bit concerned about smoke from the hookahs bothering me but in the outdoor area it didnt really bother me at all.

The workers here really are great. The environment, food, and group was all super fantastic! Great hangout spot for young adults.

My hamburger was not well done as ordered and I had the reminense of fries that were all 1/2 and well, well done. Must've been fro. The bottom of the basket. Someone else ordered and their fries were golden and regular sized.

Such a great place. Great atmosphere and amazing service, especially our waitress Shannon. We love you!

Lots of potential with location and vibes, but owner had some decisions to make on what this place is supposed to be. Menu is half BBQ, half Mediterranean. Aesthetic is a third nightclub, third outdoor garden patio, and third hookah lounge. Not to mention bathroom was disgusting and mgr sent our waitress home mid-meal to "change clothes." Food quality was decent. Pricing was reasonable. One redeeming quality was no reservation needed on a Saturday evening, but I guess I now know why.

Went last night for my Bachelorette party. Had an amazing time. Service was amazing!

Had food and Hookah. The hookah wasn't really pulling that well and the mouth pieces they provide are weird. HOWEVER, the burger I had was FANTASTIC !.!.! I may go there for lunch tomorrow

Jake rocks and so does this place. The customer service is the best I ve experienced in Charleston. Jake new how to keep me smiling. Please ask for him and visit this amazing relaxing place.

Food was great, but a bit slow. Didn't realize it was a hooka bar, which would have been fine in the open air, but the music was a bit loud and obnoxious.

This place is awesome on Tuesday night. Drag shows and dancing and some of the prettiest boys I've seen in a long time.

I'm leaving this review based on the staff alone, i came to Charleston because my baby thats a week old and in the NICU due to be out this Thursday and I really wanted a shirt as a momento but no where had any, literally everything was sold out so me and my husband stopped here for a drink and I told the bar tender what I was looking for so this amazing and kind woman literally traded me her shirt with mine. All I can say is if your looking for a place to hang out with an awesome atmosphere and amazing staff then Tabbuli is your place. Ill definitely be coming back once everything's settled with my baby

Worst service ever! first of all, I had to pay $5 for entry for something that I didn't even have the chance to sit down at. Cover is supposed to start at 10PM, but they still made us pay at 9:30. We were told when we arrived that there was a 30 minute wait and waited an hour. We watched 4 other groups of people be seated before us because they had "reservations" even though when we called earlier, they told us they weren't accepting reservations. Employees were extremely rude to us and didn't seem to care that we were even there. Never going back!!! Do not eat here! Rats in the kitchen!!!

Some how this little shack has become one of my favorites. Good food, but it is a great atmosphere. You always get a nice breeze from the water. Cooler months they have propane heaters but bring a good jacket.

My boyfriend and I love Tabbuli. I ordered takeout from them last night and it was delicious, service was very friendly, and so much food. Really made my families 4th of July thank you!

Great outdoor patio dining. Nothing fancy but cant beat the sea breezes blowing in off the pier.

Had fun! It is unique and service was good. If it is too busy, prelare to wait a while for Hookah!

A "star" rating does not begin to describe the education I gained while being catered to at Tabbulis. Nick and Evan broadened my simplistic tastes of specialty cocktails.

This stubborn, beer drinking, Gardner Minshew moustache loving, bare foot jiffy store trekking Middleburg boy, developed a taste for entertainment-based personalized beverages.

The beautifully colorful layers of "sex with an alligator" made a Jaeger lover out of me.

Our waitress was absolutely amazing, took care of us very well and even helped take care of an issue that some others were causing

The food was good and the drinks were good. But I went on my 21st birthday and after spending 200 bucks we got kicked out After we closed our tab because they wanted to use our table. Which. Isn t cool. It was only like 10 minutes after we closed the tab too. And I only closed it because I wasn t gonna use my card anymore. I was still planning on getting more food using cash. Also. We were still watching the drag show And it was my BIRTHDAY. Me and my friends will be going somewhere else from now on.

I really wanted to love this place. Gave it 2 tries. Both times service was horrible, first time I assumed it was bc they were semi busy and our server had half the patio, food was burnt when it came out. Second time we were our servers only table, she was smoking cigarettes at the table near us with other co-workers, could never find her to refill drinks, then all the sudden she appears getting a piggy back ride from a coworker. Out of 4 people at our table the "chef didn't see your meal on the ticket". Food also took forever to come out. I had to get up and find a different server on more than one occasion to help us with the hooka. On top of that it's automatic 18% gratuity, which no one in the place did anything to even deserve a tip (normally I too very well 25% or more). Worst $130 I've spent. Food is decent, but over priced for quality. Everyone at our table stayed polite and never let it be known how dissatisfied we were. Such a disappointment after reading other reviews.

This is a SCAM restaurant, and should be avoided at all cost.
To be exact, they list one price on their menu but when the bill comes they add all these extra charges for things that are supposed to be on the order and you did not order EXTRA! And when I brought the over charges to the attention of the manager rather than apologizing, this rude lady that is supposed to be the manager said: "This is the way it is here, you have to pay it..." Really amazing :( If you must go, because they only source of Mediterranean food in that touristy part of Charleston, then double check your bill for overcharges and tell the rude manager upfront that you will not pay for any hidden charges. But really avoid them at all costs you can, since there are so many fine restaurants in Charleston that do not have SCAM based billing and rude management. If I could give them Zero Starts I would.

Tabbuli is a fantastic place to go in Charleston to just relax and chill. It s located in a touristic scenic view, but still has affordable prices. I have lived in Charleston for several years and this is still a favorite go to spot! Ask for Devin, she is my favorite waitress and will hook you up with the best hookahs. They serve strong drinks, and have a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place!

Beef souvlaki with ziki sauce on the side, plus walnut baklava. Simple pleasures.

Tae was an excellent bartender! I recommend the 128 BPM hookah! Definitely one of best places Ive been in Charleston.

Terrible place. Trashy atmosphere. Me and my gf had to walk out and leave due to the snobby waitresses acting too irritated to come over and serve on us after 15 minutes of sitting.

Steph was exceptionally hospitable and the hookah was spot on. All in all it, was anawesome experience.

Loved this place! Really cool concept with the bubbles and hookah. I really enjoyed the jalapeno poppers and mac and cheese. Drinks were fantasic as well. Fun atmosphere. We will be back!

Havnt been in awhile prices seem pretty steep better to go with a group of people to enjoy the hookah.

Popped in for a quick lunch one Saturday afternoon. I had a falafel sandwich and the wife a falafel platter. The falafels here are amazingly good. Service was great as were the prices.

Came for a late lunch. Began to worry when we heard they had recently opened, waitress didn't know if they had tea, no one was in the main area, and they had no taboulle.

What was the name of this place? Oh yeh, taboulle....

Once the food arrived we were more than pleased that we had made the choice. Everything was delicious, well prepared and near perfect.

Waited for 30 min to get a hookah. Service is terrible.

I posted my review under the wrong business (apology to owner of Prohibition). Went here on Aug 22nd for Latin Night Sunday Funday. It was not fun. A bunch of novice dancers who do not pay attention to their surroundings. I got hit in the face by some broad's hair bc her partner was flinging her all over the place, trying to show off for vid. No designated space to dance: you have to get in where you fit in, which is by tables where people are eating, trying to enjoy their meals. The food was good--only reason this rating is a 2* and not 1*. I went to dance though. So based on that, will have to say I wouldn't recommend. Not on Sunday Funday anyways.

The tables were dirty and we asked for a cocktail that was horrible spicy without warning and we still had to pay for it. Completely average to low place... Not recommended at all.

I love this new location. More importantly, Nick is the best attender at Tabbuli. He s kind, friendly and tentative. (But not so good that you should flood and then I can t get a table with Nick. ) Also, Elliot, one of the managers, is the best back up. It s nice to know that there are still managers in restaurants, unlike the norm, that come to check on tables.

I came in on a nice Sunday to meet with a friend and was welcomed with immense hospitality. Keree took great care of me, giving me excellent suggestions and made sure we were well accommodated. The Hookah and drinks tasted AMAZING! I am so excited to come back and try the food and new drinks and Hookahs! I highly recommend this place. There are not only few Hookah bars in the area, but Tabbuli gets creative with what they made and use great products!

Pretty good vibe. Some of the customers can get a little rowdy. The staff is usually pretty fast and attentive. Other times they can be a a bit sluggish.

I had planned to come here with a group of friends for my birthday and they would not let us come in because apparently there s a dress code certain hours. We all were dressed nice, all had dresses on except one friend of mine, she had a bodysuit in with a pair of ripped jeans. Not to mention an older lady had come out with sneakers and ripped jeans on. They went to get the manager and she had told them we would be able to come in but it would be $200 for a table each, there were 8 of us. We had not planned to pay $200 each for a table. We haven t even considered trying to go back because of that incident. We felt as if they didn t want us there. It wasn t right of them, and definitely hope it isn t under the same management.

Food is great authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Very healthy a nice break from more traditional southern kitchen. Hookah available inside for about 25 $ with wide variety of tobacco. Waiters are all extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

Greatest club in downtown Charleston by far! The hookah flavors are great, food is awesome, and the servers/bartenders were very attentive! Cece was our server and she was the best!

We stopped in for cocktails and an appetizer. Great food and drinks and a fun vibe!

So this is not the worst late night Mediterranean spot I've been to, but it's by far the best. Maybe one reason it sticks out so much in Charleston is because there is a lack of competition. I did not eat the food so this review is solely on the atmosphere, drinks and the hookah.

One important note I want to make is that there is a cover charge after a certain hour and I believe it's around 10p. We arrived shortly after 10p and stumbled across two seats at the bar. We were advised upon entry that there was over an hour wait for a seat in the restaurant. The bar seating the ok. There was a nice breeze in the air and we could people watch a bit. The DJ was playing some tunes and we watched some people dance on the stage. Casual. Relaxed yet groovy. Comfortable. Yea that the vibe.

SERVICE: Now this is where we start to go down hill. We were greeted in a timely manner but the bartenders seemed very rushed. They were the smiley talkative type you could "expect" (yes expect) at a late night atmosphere. It was no "Hey guys, welcome...."....it was more a deep stare and a "Are you ready to order?" and if there was no immediately answer..... "on to the next." (M'am, I need a minute to review this high priced hookah...) were the thoughts running through my head. I attempted to spark conversation by asking about the most popular flavors but I gathered she was just listed whichever came to her head first. I just didn't get that personable, warm and fuzzy feeling that I expected.

I don't know which of the high priced hookah's I ordered but I do know that the base was made with milk. I was excited to give this a try and it only seems right that the milk would make it extra creamy. Well, my hookah showed up with soda in it. Yes. Soda. When I inquired that there must be a mix up, I was told by one of the hookah ladies that they ran out of milk so they just substituted. (Ummmm, no one thought to check with me to see if I might want to change my order??) I just asked her to take it off and I didn't re-order.

I ordered two drinks that were extremely weak in my opinion. Kind of watered down and not worth the money. It should be noted that I did not order a fruity drink...I'm a whisky girl so if I say it was watery, it was watery.

If you took away the late night hours and the DJ, I don't think this place would be around long. However, it gets by with mediocre service because downtown Charleston is trying to keep itself alive. I wish I had a better experience for a better review, but it is what it is. I'm not sure that I would give them a try again.

Tonight, after being admitted into the bar and ordering a drink, an aggressive bouncer demanded to see my ID in a threatening & intimidating manner. When I presented it to him he walked away with my ID without saying anything. Long story short, he continued to act aggressively & refused to give me back my ID. I was forced to call 911 and have police offers demand they turn over my ID. The owner nor the bouncer apologized. I will never spend a cent in that establishment.

Stopped in for a beer while walking Charleston, staff is not very welcoming. I am 71 and staff in their 20's, maybe we had nothing in common.

Large groups steer clear. We brought 40 people to this bar on a dead Saturday night and after they let our group in they charged us a retroactive cover charge. Then when we protested they settled for a flat group fee. Don't scam people out of money when they come with a huge group.

Had a great time with my friends. Island fun hookah flavor was fire! I loved the service. Our curly haired waiter was beautiful and so polite. I'd definitely go back.

Falafel is amazing. If your looking for a bloody mary, try one topped with bacon and falafel.

Me and my friends came from Greenville, SC and googled hookah bar and this one was the first one to pop up and I see why... Hookah happy hour was great and the flavor was delicious. And Ryan M. was great at catering to our needs. Great Atmosphere

I was here last Monday with my wife and our friends. The food was great and our waitress Hilary was amazing she suggested the hummus dip for my wife and she loved it. Our drinks never even came close to being empty and she was so upbeat and personable. Half the time she was waiting on us there was a phillipino girl with short hair sitting on the bar stool next to us, who was obviously very drunk even yelled about how her tab was so cheap she could get even more "tore up", that was barking orders at our waitress and telling her that she was doing everything wrong. I am guessing that this was the manager which is disgraceful. Our waitress and the food get 5 stars, but the manager is not even worthy of 1. Who let's their staff get sloppy drunk on the clock and let's them berate their staff who are being a thousand times more professional. Hilary great job it was a pleasure to meet you and I am sorry that you have to put up with such things to make ends meet.

You need to come here! The staff is very friendly, and food is great. Daniel was our waiter and he was always so quick and polite. Awesome guy! He made the experience their so much better. Great music. The hooka prices are great. Lots of awesome flavors. Daniel was very knowledgable and made some killer recommends. I highly recommend this place. I am definitely coming back!

Great customer service, expensive, couches for lounging could be updated as they kinda hurt after a few hours. Music is great and dancing is a must. Atmosphere is great for all ages.

Ive been coming to tabbuli for more than 5 years and Chance by far is one of the best server we ve had,not only here,but in any place we ve been to!!If you come.HIGHLY RECOMMEND having him as your server!He is always timely,nice,and on point through out our entire visit!!You rarely meet genuine people like him!!PLEASE CHANCE,BE OUR PERMANENT SERVER!!!!

Love this place! The BEST guy to get is Nick at the bar. Always wears a formal vest. He's awesome to talk to and makes the best Whiskey Sour on King Street.
