Purchased Sym-tech Warranty for tire-guard with a 4 year lease - no questions asked and easy claims process. Dealer did all the work I just had to drop off car for tire replacement. Total of 3 new tires - 2 summer, 1 winter no questions asked - will purchase now every time I get a new car

I bought my life-time rust protection through deal...

I bought my life-time rust protection through dealer. Sym-Tech do not honor the warranty. First of all unlike advertising, it is not life time. Secondly, their module only works for limited time. A textbook case of rust, hydrogen blistering, were all over my hood. Clearly, the module stopped working. Thirdly, they make all sort of excuses for not honoring the warranty. One such excuse is that it's been more than 30 days that the rust has appeared!
Bottom line, you are wasting your money thinking you have a piece of mind on your car corrosion.
I trusted the dealer, otherwise would have never paid over $2K to this company!

I'd give a zero if I could. Do yourself a favor and do not buy any warranty from this company. They will look for any and every reason possible to deny your claim. This company is a joke. I will now be reporting them to the BBB

I got their service package when I purchased my 20...

I got their service package when I purchased my 2006 Mazda 3 brand new (financed for 6 years) from Carling Mazda on the hopes that my car will be warrantied as long as I own the car and must follow the annual check-up/touch-up. 3 years down the road, the car developed a bit of rust on the trunk compartment door hatch. I reported this with them and instructions was given which I followed. The rust was fixed by Maaco with an estimated cost of CA$450++. After 2 years (5th year of ownership), there was another rust build up from the same area. This was again fixed at no cost on my part by the same provider. On the 6th year of ownership, a few months just right after fully paid-off my car, I reported again to a new set of rust formation to Sym-Tech. This time they refused to have this fixed as they claimed there was a change in the policy where the rusted part should be reported to them within the 30 day period of rust formation. What the hell ! ! ! That statement was not part and parcel of the policy I have. They said that the changes can be made without notice. Therefore, I got F*"%ED by Carling Mazda and SYM-Tech. I will never get their service again.

This is one of the biggest scam companies on the planet. If you are researching their products do yourself a favour and REJECT any attempt to be conned into purchasing Sym-Tech products. Their protection products use the worst quality replacements and when it comes time to pay a claim, they will look for any loophole to get out of it. Look at their recent 5 star reviews. They are now getting staff to put up 5 star reviews. Bill Spanos is the leader of their claims group and the guy who denies all the claims. All the 1 star reviews are from customers they scammed. Look at their canned response designed to look like they are genuinely responding to customers. They slightly change the wording to make it appear as each one is unique to each critical review. Save yourself the headache and financial ruin and AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

Do NOT use this company for GAP insurance.

They are not a real insurance company because they certainly do not follow the rules and regulation of legit companies.

Paid my premium upfront - $1100 - broke down to $137. 50 per year for 8 years -
only had the vehicle for two years and paid it off. SYM-TECH will not refund you the unused portion of your upfront premium, as any other LEGIT insurance company would.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THIS COMPANY - THEY ARE HUCKSTERS! NOT AN INSURANCE COMPANY, and by the looks of other reviews, they suck at everything else too.

If you need GAP insurance, talk to your personal insurance company prior to the purchase. Don t let the dealership push this nonsense on you.

When I spoke to them the day after I paid off my loan, they said I only had 15 days after the purchase for a refund. Pretty sure insurance doesn t work like that. Furthermore, one of the dealships I spoke to said I would get a refund, and could put it towards my new truck purchase.

They have a poor rating on the BBB site as well. I have filed a complaint. Will update this review pending its outcome.

I'm not a person that writes negative reviews lightly, but BUYER BEWARE. Sym-Tech is not the company you want to purchase any protection product for your vehicle. They will honour the warranty only if you do a monthly inspection using a magnifying glass. You have 30 days from the onset of any rust or change in paint etc. This is even though you have the annual inspections - which is deceiving. According to the collision shop I visited this means the most minute speck must be reported, hence the magnifying glass. Sym-Tech also advise of cancellation of coverage at a certain point even when you purchase "lifetime" coverage. I believe automotive dealerships promoting this company must be receiving huge kickbacks or something because this product is not as it sounds. And they convince you "Great buy, you're covered for anything. You wouldn't have to worry about any damage to your paint or rust." Don't waste your money with this company. From what I hear Krown is a much better product and they honour their warranty no matter what, and they don't put the responsibility on the consumer. Might be good for CBC's MARKETPLACE to look into these add-ons that dealerships are promoting for their customers to purchase -specifically Sym-Tech.

Very disappointed with the prompt payment to my dealer. Work approval very quick, work done February 5th, emailed invoice, someone called from company to the dealer to get VIN and by February 29th still no cheque. I contacted them and they said no invoice received so dealer resent March 2, they had dealer resend as blurry and Linda advised a cheque would go out in 10 to 15 days. Now March 31st still no cheque, called and they said would go out by end of week. No explanation for delay, no apologies!!! Very unimpressed with this company and will be letting Kia dealership know.

bought a package that covers my seats from stains. So far NO service. Bought the package through Kia which covers some other useless stuff for over $2000. Called Sym Tech directly was asked why am I calling. the dealership needs to call. Super frustrated and feeling riped off. Been trying to get this services for over a year.

EDIT: So a few months after posting this review, Bill contacted me, said no claim had been forwarded from Kia. and he would assist me with getting my car detailed. I got it cleaned and as promised sent me the funds to cover the cost. Even though months had gone by, I still appreciated to get the acknowledgement as better late then never and of course people deserve the opportunity to defend themselves and make things right.
Although this entire situation took a long time once Bill connected with me, I did feel he did want to make things right. So for that Thank you Bill.

Obviously I cant give the company a 5/5 at this time. However, I did buy a lifetime warranty so there will be another opportunity in the future to redeem themselves by making the experience smooth from the beginning. Which could earn another star.

This thing is a joke. They will just say any perforation is a stone chip. Then they will deny your claim and you are stuck with a unit that does nothing. I am not sure why you sell a rust modul that still allows rust. They tell you have to have bought the extra surface rust protection witch you are never offered just told about when you go to submit a claim. Waste of money
