A true countryside luxurious castle hotel with beautiful gardens and lakes spread over 400 acres of land. The food in the fine dining Samuel's restaurant in this hotel is fabulous in terms of presentation as well as taste. A must stay hotel if in Yorkshire.

Amazing Chefs table experience on first night. Would highly recommend booking. Lovely room hotel and setting. The newly built spa was lovely and the massages we had booked were excellent. Highly recommend, we had a great 10th anniversary trip there.

Have visited Swinton for a number of years and it never fails to impress, but due to the number of weddings held here, it is always advisable to book well ahead.
The hotel is a complete delight, with fabulous food, excellent friendly service, lovely walks in the grounds, deer in the fields and an aviary of birds of prey. This was the first time I have visited the hotel since it has opened the Terrace restaurant and Country Club/Spa. Far from a plastic conservatory stuck on the side the new section gives it a whole new dimension whilst retaining all the qualities which make it such a pleasure to come here. The bar area is inviting, comforting and draws you in to while away the day whilst the Terrace Restaurant itself is modern serving beautifully prepared, well presented food from an open kitchen. The menu is exciting, interesting without being pretentious. A place to relax and enjoy beautiful food.

I would give it less if I could. Absolutely horrendous customer service. In all honesty I ve had better customer service in premier inn. If you have a choice go somewhere else. It would be cheaper and less of an annoyance. The staff at reception are absolutely ill mannered and rude especially when it come to there time to clock off. One can only assume that the staff don t want to be there either. There is some many structural issues with the hotel itself I m actually surprised there is not seriously injury s. The worst hotel in the area without a doubt save your money and your time. This will be taken down but heed my warning.

We visited Swinton Park and stayed at Swinton Bivouac. The location was lovely, tucked away in a wooded area with great walks from the door. The accommodation was 'simple' and this was part of the charm. We visited the cafe on the site and food and drink was really good, as was the decor and ambience of the place.

3 course Sunday lunch in Samuel's restaurant was superb (we were a party of 2). There were plenty of choices for all tastes and dietary requirements. The staff were attentive and helpful (this was our first visit), pleasant and chatty.
My meal, starter: Ewes milk cheese custard was unusual sounding, but delicate and incredibly moreish. The homemade bread was the perfect accompaniment. Main: The roast sirloin of beef was cooked to perfection (pink) and with plenty of root vegetables to mop up the rich red wine gravy, and a cheeky Yorkshire pudding, and a dish of extra vegetables. Yes - plenty of food! Dessert: The sticky toffee pudding was homely, hearty and just perfect.
The restaurant is set in beautiful surroundings, and there are numerous walks around the estate to enjoy (before or after the meal). Yes, Swinton Park ticks my box for Sunday lunch.

Fabulous grounds, spa etc. Would be five stars if the assistant in the shop had actually bothered to serve me or get another staff member to serve me, instead of spending 15 mins checking someone in to the spa, despite telling me 'I'll be 2 mins. Can be that desperate to make money!

A fantastic building with amazing evening meals and Sunday lunches in Samuel's Restaurant. We've stayed here once too and really enjoyed being able to go for a walk around the grounds and deer park.
Lovely place to have afternoon tea and it's reasonably priced, especially in comparison to other places.
When we booked through an offer (for dinner, bed & breakfast), we weren't encouraged to book our dinner reservation at the time we booked the room, which caused a bit of an issue. We were very much encouraged to dine in the then newly opened Terrace restaurant, being told that we woudn't be able to dine till much later in Samuel's. The menu at the time for the Terrace didn't appeal, so we said we'd wait. We walked past Samuel's and the bar at 7-7.30pm (around the time we ideally wanted a table) and it was empty.
The smaller bedrooms are comfortable and nice, but obviously not all of the rooms have a good view (we overlooked the back of the other buildings) - if this is important to you, check this before you book.

We arrived for a wedding showcase and absolutely loved both the premises and selected partners for their wedding packages. Lauren was a great host and the grounds were stunning in their entirety. Thoroughly recommend Swinton Park from both bug occasions and short stays. They were exceptionally attentive

We enjoyed our trip out to the Bird of Prey sanctuary, where the owls & falcons were incredibly talkative, very well kept. I highly recommend a day out on the estate, the hugely entertaining walk has a birdwatch or two where the lookout is fully equipped with books & binoculars. Tom Henderson, and his staff were very attentive, well-spoken, Informative, Accommodating with varied and intelligible characters that make the place highly exclusive! The suite we stayed in was absolutely too glorious for words, my wife felt like a princess on her birthday out. A must visit for anyone that enjoys the out doors, billiards and rich English tapestry found in and around the estate from old but grand portrait paintings to soothing and relaxing spa therapies!

Very disappointed with New Year afternoon tea here. Service was hopeless. It was a buffet meal but we had to wait ages for prosecco and then it seemed a big problem to supply us with tea! Stewed cups of tea were brought eventually but it was a struggle to get our own pot.
The sandwiches had thick bread and thin filling. Scones were good but we had to ask for jam and cream as there were just dirty, empty containers on the buffet. We stood waiting so long that we had to ask a second person as the first never came back.

We were on a secret escapes voucher and the staff didn't explain what was and wasn't included and any point. Ended up paying for a very expensive meal, which was just ok. Wrote a patronising response to our review on Tripadvisor and did not contact us to make amends. Probably a great place if your well off and can afford it.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and interior. It didn't disappoint and the service was excellent. Afternoon tea in the drawing room was delicious and great value for money, especially on the first week of the month special offer. Looking forward to visiting soon and exploring the grounds.

The spa is incredible and the rooms and estate are very very impressive. However the place needs an overhaul in some areas.

A huge negative of our stay was that myself, my wife and our 7 month old baby got stuck in the clearly old and well used lift for 5 minutes making us very stressed. The door then had to be prized open by two of the housekeepers. Apologies were made and our drinks that we enjoyed at dinner were paid for. This was not enough in terms of being compensated on reflection.

The bedsheets were clearly very old and were like cardboard! They were loud when we moved in our bed and the duvet didn't go to the edges of the sheets. Poor given the money we paid for our stay.

Super location, very pleasant staff but seem disorganised at times, food & wines were excellent.
Glorious walking around the estate, pity that the bird area looks so neglected.

An absolutely wonderful hotel in beautiful natural grounds with wooded walks, walled gardens and lakes. Staff are caring and helpful without being pretentious. Afternoon tea is one of the best you'll get anywhere. The rooms are immaculate but relaxed. A must place to visit not only for the hotel and it's facilities but the many nearby attractions. We'll be back as soon as possible!

We got married at Swinton last weekend. (19/10/19) and had the best day of our lives. Everything about Swinton is just amazing - the food was exceptional (mass catering can sometimes be a bit hit and miss!), all of our guests commented on how beautiful their rooms were, the staff couldn t do enough to help (a special thanks to Gay - a lot of our guests mentioned how wonderful she was, nothing was too much for her and she really went above and beyond to ensure we had the most enjoyable time for the whole weekend so Thankyou Gay! Keep doing what you re doing!). The day ran so smoothly, all thanks to the wonderful team. 100% the best wedding venue in Yorkshire!

I felt some aspects of the interior were a bit dated by my other half loved every bit of it. Perhaps more a woman s stay than a mans

Have been coming to Swinton Park for a few years now, either for splendid afternoon tea, morning coffee and a walk around the spring garden in May or to stay over.We have just returned from a couple of days for my birthday treat, and can only say what a wonderful time we have had again. From a long walk through the woodlands, a mooch around the walled garden, which we love to do, comparing all the veggies growing there to our own, they maybe have the upper hand there. Watching the deer roaming in the parkland, a proper Downton Abbey couple of days. The staff are always so helpful and friendly, spotless rooms, crispy white cotton sheets, we love it all. I just want to mention our so lovely waitress at breakfast, I think her name was Gaye, she'd only been there 5 weeks, but really couldn't do enough for us, I hope she has a long and happy stay at Swinton.Food as always exceptional, why doesn't mine look and taste like that?Hopefully will be returning again for our special treat next year. Thank you all at Swinton Park.

My wife and I booked at the last minute for some much needed rest and relaxation.
The hotel and spa was superb and spotlessly clean.
The staff were so lovely and made sure we had a memorable visit.
Before coming home we had a walk around the estate gardens which were so beautiful and tranquil.
We highly recommend this hotel and spa and sha l return very soon.

A friend and myself went for the mini half day spa package that included use of the spa facilities a mini treatment and afternoon tea. The actual spa facilities here are fabulous. Some of the best I've been to so that part of the package was lovely. The treatment was just half hour but was fine. The girl I had for my massage couldn't speak very good English so it made trying to communicate my requirements with her very difficult. The staff however were very friendly and helpful. The very disappointing aspect of this package was the afternoon tea. A big let down. It wasn't a proper afternoon tea by any stretch of the imagination. We got a sandwich on a plate in bread that seemed like it had been left out all day.. it wasn't nice. We were then given 2 full size scones on a plate and a separate slice of chocolate cake. It was very strange as It wasn't afternoon tea at all. It was like someone just couldn't be bothered! We didn't complain at the time because it was a treat for my friend for her birthday and we didn't want to spoil the afternoon. We would return but on booking we'll mention the bad experience about the afternoon tea2abd perhaps ask just to have something off the main menu instead... all said it is a lovely spot and my friend and I hope to go again.
