I really like the workouts at SWEAT but the Gold Coast facility which I have gone to on and off for 3.5 years has some major flaws. Strange things seem to come up all the time including but not limited to: no hot water, sewer backup, no towels, no bathmats in the men's locker room, disappearance of water dispensers, toilet not flushing well or the floors seems to be cleaned inconsistenly. There doesn't appear to be one prevailing issue but it feels like random things which are detrimental to a 5 star experience occur very frequently.

I have been to so many classes throughout the city and SWEAT is my favorite one. The class is always challenging and works a different body part each day of the week. Highly recommend SWEAT to anyone who is looking for a good workout!

I joined SWEAT after ClassPass and haven't regretted it since. The workouts are challenging regardless of your level of fitness and they're always new so you're never bored. I would recommend joining to everyone.

I also want to say that I had a very unique situation and had to move from Chicago, and they were SO understanding and flexible with me (unlike some other gyms I have heard of). Definitely worth the price for the workouts, the feedback you receive and the trainers!

I really enjoy taking classes at SWEAT! The trainers are great, and they have a rotation of different HIIT formats targeting various muscle groups in the body, making it easy to change up your workouts. Each class contains several different exercises and the trainers each have their own style/format, keeping you engaged and motivated throughout the class. Would definitely recommend!

Cannot say enough great things about this place. The coaches are so motivating. The workouts are never the same. This place knows how to push you to your limits and gives you mental and physical strength. I joined in November after just completing a marathon- I'm in the best shape I've ever been in thanks to this place. GO TRY A CLASS!!!

Paul and the team do a great job - they kick my butt with an intensity level I wouldn't be able to do on my own... To date I have lost 12lbs and feel stronger / more agile. Highly highly recommend!!! :)

I loved the butt and legs workout, this is exactly what I was looking for. I enjoyed the class because of the in depth instruction from Kristen and the fast paced environment. Kristen has great energy; she helped me whenever I needed help or instructions and paid attention to everything going on around her throughout the class. This was a great way to spend my morning and I feel like I got a great workout in. This was my first time at Sweat and I recommend it.

I love working out at SWEAT! There are two locations- Gold Coast and Lincoln Park, and both are great. The class is always a mix of cardio and strength. The teachers explain each move in detail, help fix your form if it is incorrect, and are willing to offer modifications as needed. I would highly recommend giving SWEAT a try!

I started attended classes here in early January and have loved every class since then. I attend three days a week which is perfect for my goals and my schedule. Every training I have had has been nothing short of wonderful. Andrea, Nate, and Jess are especially amazing and coach challenging, rewarding and fun classes. I am so glad I joined the SWEAT family as it has improved every aspect of my life.

Absolutely LOVE this studio. I wish I could give it more stars. I stumbled upon this through ClassPass & found out it is extremely close to my apartment (so pumped about that)! I love a bootcamp style class and this is everything I could have ever wanted in a studio! They keep me extremely engaged, motivated, and feeling my best throughout the entire 60 minute session. They switch up the workouts every week so I am never bored doing the same workout! I highly recommend this studio to everyone in the area!

Sweat on State is a smaller facility then other workout studios I've tried but they utilize the space well and create great workouts! I attended a class with Andrea which started out with a obstacle warm up. We then did a few circuit workouts and ended with a cool down of shoulder presses and push ups. Andrea was very thorough in explaining and demonstrating each move. She also watched over the class attentively to ensure everyone had proper form. I only wish the class had ended with stretching. Other than that I am very excited to go back to Sweat on State and take a class with Paul!

The Best of Sweat on State:
-used a lot of different equipment throughout the workout
-instructor not only demonstrated the workout but watched the class do the move to ensure proper form and posture

I was a monthly unlimited member for 2 years. The trainers are fantastic and deserve 5 stars, however over the course of my 2 years, the place and overall experience took a significant hit.

- There are no lockers - I was told to go to a different gym if I want lockers.
- For a while the bathrooms had only bar soap and we were expected to share. The toilet is also constantly clogged and the showers are filthy.
- There are no more wipes to clean equipment after each class, so most of the mats and weights are grimy and leave your hands brown.
- There is nobody working at the front to check people in/assist new members etc. You are checking yourself in on an iPad (which was broken for almost 2 weeks meaning the trainers now had to extra work).
- Multiple SkiErg machines have been broken for months and are still not adjusted properly.

There were several other issues, including classes being cancelled without notice, and instead of an apology (in all emails, sorry was never once used), whoever was responding was trying to blame me.

It is obvious that management doesn t care about the place and is happy just taking the money and spending it on themselves, instead of investing it in making the place better.

If you re looking for a decent workout in a pinch, it s a great option, otherwise I would steer clear.

I'm not a big crossfitter but have been trying out the classes here for the last couple weeks. Paul, the owner, is a great trainer and very friendly. I like how this is a small enough community where everyone sort of knows each other, but not in an exclusive way. The workouts sure do make you sweat- what is appealing is that you hit total exhaustion really quickly and it takes more mental endurance than physical to continue. Super easy to sign-up for classes online, check-in at the reception desk on their iPad mini and head downstairs. I've never had trouble getting into a class, even at peak times like 6pm, which is often a problem with other fitness / group class gyms.

SWEAT is one of my favorite studios to go to when I'm looking for a high intensity workout with a variety of stations and moves. It's a large studio that offers strength training and cardio all in one hour and the instructors are super motivating! Would recommend to anyone looking for a great sweat and feeling the burn!
