Fun place outdoor and indoor dining. Gave 2 stars bc the service was terrible. 2 people, we ordered same thing, cheeseburger and waters. We were served 1 burger, server left and we assumed he was getting the other meal...not.. about 7 minutes from when the 1st burger served I had to walk up to another waitress to see where my meal was bc my waitres no where in site, never put in order for 2 burgers, so again I'm waiting another 15 minutes for my meal, terrible, and waitress unattentive no sincere apology so we basically ate separately
Gave it 2 stars for atmosphere and when the burger did arrive it was good.

Food & atmosphere were enjoyable! Menus were single use and so were most of table set-up, assuming to be extra careful during COVID?

Reason for lower score was because not all staff were obeying wearing a mask at all times, host suggested seating that was not 6-feet apart, and indoor dining/bar (no social distancing!) was open which should be a hard no!

It s like having a smoking and non-smoking section, everyone still suffers/is at risk for the inconvenience of a few.

Highly recommended! What a local delight. We walked to Surf's Out after parking at Robert Moses State Park (because unfortunately, you cannot visit the nearby neighborhood by car, unless you have a federal permit), it was about 20-25 minute walk on a sandy/pebbly road. Did a brief Yelping prior to ordering, the food tastes delicious!

Ordered:
Shishito Peppers $15
P.E.I Mussels $18
Maine Lobster Roll (Comes with side of fries) $27
Lobster Tuna Sashimi $14
Tuna Tataki $15
Tuna Salmon Sashimi Burrito $23

The white wine garlic sauce in the mussels was so good, I finished the sauce with my lobster roll. YUM. We had to drain out some sauce on the tuna tataki, but tuna! Is on point! We also loved the tuna salmon sashimi burrito and the touch of crunch?? How is it so crunchy?! So good. I mean look at the photos yourself. The lobster is exploding from the roll. Wouldn't you want to do a 30 minute walk (and possibly resist of ordering togo for your way back)?!

Thank you Surf's Out for the wonderful experience despite COVID19. There was even a band playing live music! Everyone was so cheerful for the band, we almost forgot that we're in the midst of a pandemic. Anyway, shoes and masks are required to enter the restaurant! (of course besides the time when you're stuffing your face).

Food was great. Prices fair. Service good. The seafood de mare was really great. Also sushi was amazingly fresh. Fantastic rolls and sushi dishes. Italian and Japanese food all in one and they do both great. Worth the trip. Went back a year later. We had an even better meal and Megan our server did an outstanding job with great suggestions, knowing how often to come to the table. Changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

The menu is really great. I think the menu is new with a fantastic sushi and sushi bowl selection in addition to the usual fare. Our friends had the lobsters (it was lobster night on a Thursday) they also enjoyed. Decent beer and tequila selection. Friendly waiter, fast service. Will be back.
