I had a terrible experience applying here for graduate school. Before I even started the process, I tried to call and ask questions about what pre-reqs I needed; they never answered or called back. During the application process, I also tried to reach out. I tried in the morning, afternoon, and evening but they never answered or got back to me. Then, I got the decision for waitlist because I had not taken a specific class, which could have been avoided if they answered me months before when I originally tried calling. Still after that, I tried to call to get more information to see what I could do, and once again they did not answer or call me back. As an admissions counselor at a different college, I had heard stories like this before regarding New Paltz.

Great school for becoming a Teacher!! The Education dept was outstanding from 1992..I knew what best schools to teach have been..and best schools for My son..mnow in middle school. Quality education was here.
I found One Spark Academy in Ventura County to be the best whole child school for middle schoolers because great Teachers were at SUNY New Paltz. You'll always know what quality learning is here

Terrible.

Terrible.
While professors are usually good, the administrative policies are terrible. $10 just to get a transcript? Prices of parking went up by $20 this academic year even though they continue to reduce the number of available lots.
Parking tickets are given even when hangtag is on dashboard.

The unnecessary fees are out of control all so that the top brass can take in hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

Although parts are outdated, the campus is beautiful and it fosters a warm and welcoming environment. The campus is well maintained and clean. The staff and students alike are welcoming and inclusive all all people. Their food offers options for every diet requirement. The tuition is reasonably priced for in-state students and well worth it in the quality of education delivered. My one complaint is lack of guest parking throughout the campus.

school is nice, looks great all around, love the nature feel to the school. The professors can be hit or miss, and could be tough. The school is known for art and business, not science. So any science courses will be tough. You really have to earn your grades here, professors don't joke around with exams. I graduated when they were adding on too the campus, Im sure in the next 5 years the place will look so different. Which I am happy for them.. Parking is generally pretty bad during the peak hours of the fall and spring time. If you don't have blinkers on your car, good luck not getting into a fight. I almost got into a fight with a student over a parking space cause my blinker didn't work at the time but I was waiting.

So be warned lol.

It looks like a wonderful college to go to. I would like to take dancing career and early childhood teaching. I went here with my friends to go to the museum across the college. It was beautiful to see all the hard work the students did . I like the Beatles pictured. My cousin and my brother is a big fan of the Beatles pictured. I love looking at them. I love pictures. They are so interesting to see .it is amazing that you have a museum across of the college . And I am not far from my house. I moved here June something. It was the end of June. I am 9 minutes from here to there.!!

Ok

This school is biased and extremely prejudice in their application process. Even if you try to work with them to get them anything they may want they are unresponsive.
They claim that people who worked in family construction business for over a decade doesn't count towards anything. And getting a letter of recommendation from an employer their wouldn't matter because they're "family" as they put it. They ell me I can go to my pastor, guess I was under the assumption I didn't have to be a Christian to attend here now.
This school cares only about one thing and that's is the almighty dollar. They rather have naive kids out of highschool that will waste their parents money than have anybody that actually has a plan and goals fully set.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS SCHOOL.
THEY ARE A BUNCH DISCRIMINATING MONEY HUNGRY SLEEZES!

Jk

Beautiful campus in the heart of the Hudson Valley with breathtaking views of the Catskills. The local community is very welcoming of college students.

It is a solid New York University with many degree programs about an two hours north of NYC.

Worst graduation performance I have been. Not only they was not prepare for a rainy day and started late. Everyone was upset and getting wet. We was only giving panchos to wear and all the chairs was wet. I don t believe after 4yr coming to this school this is the type of graduation the student should it had. Expected better of this school, so sad.

Worst university for computer science grad program...

Worst university for computer science grad program, the university is very biased, they give credits and benefits for impression not for intelligence. I would not recommend any one to this university.

Professors are great but student body is so forceful of others to be tolerant of their differences that they become intolerant of anyone or anything else.
SUNY New Paltz is the most close minded school masquerading as an open minded one.

I visited the New Paltz campus for the first time on Wednesday September 18, 2019. I enjoy visiting colleges and take pictures. What surprised me is how dated the campus looked. It reminded of the school I attended in the early seventies. Almost like going back into time. I did ask someone if there are any new buildings or on going construction and she said yes but I didn't see very much activity. I visited the campus art gallery it was wonderful. The campus has a couple of lakes but other than that, the SUNY New Paltz campus is as dull as dishwater.

Absolutely absurd that they don't sell water bottles anywhere on campus. They should start updating the school and its appearance before they worry about eliminating water from their vending machines etc.

Nice
