I got off on the wrong foot with this company due to some things I personally did not like but to each its' own. I wrote a review and personally received a call from a supervisor almost instantaneously. She let me vent and then went on to debate her issues in the most professional way, on why things were the way they were and I definitely see a clearer picture now. She helped me get an aid to cover hours that I needed. Their services ended after a month due to funding which is on the state and not them.

As of late, I am going through a rough time because of my other respite agency not being able to assist my 95 year old mother for an additional 2 weeks while I wait for permanent services to kick in. I called Andrea and left her a message on what's going on and she called me back the same day within hours to let her know they are going to assist me with these 2 weeks because they love the work that I am doing for my loved one. I just want to say thank you to Andrea from Sunnyside for coping with my stress and keeping it professional to show me that not all agencies are the same!

I called SCS after my 85 yr old Mom passed from covid19. Diana Salerno was awesome. Even during a pandemic she answered the phone on the 2nd ring. She offered such promising help with my 88 yr old Dad. Things were dire since Dad tested (+). Although he was asymptomatic, he was a threat to others. Ms Salerno gave my details to Joaquin Burgos. He called me and identified himself as Dad's Case Manager. That's when my Dad's life changed for the better.
Mr Burgos and Shelia Williams worked together keeping on top of changing details.
Ms Williams agreed to send an aide in less than 40 hours. I can't believe how quickly Mr Burgos and Ms Williams worked (on a weekend )to ensure that help was on the way.
Dad is in great hands thanks to Mr Burgos and Ms Williams. They truly are part of an amazing asset to our community. On behalf of the Connolly family, many thanks to all the hard working folks who make Sunnyside Community Services the amazing asset it is to Sunnyside and all of Queens.

This is a great place for seniors. There are activities during the day and its a place where seniors can make friends and socialize. The community center also provides very affordable healthy lunches. All of the volunteers and people who work here are extremely friendly which provides a great atmosphere. They have bingo here daily and they take it very seriously. On Thursdays there is usually a DJ set up to entertain the seniors. So if you know any seniors who are home alone all day this is a great place to suggest for them to check out.

It was two years ago. I was caring for two sick, elderly parents. I went to the center looking for a support group for myself to join. What I got was a high pressured sale of their home healthcare agency. When my parents decide that they were not interested, I had a home visit by one of their social workers. The man could barely speak English. He called and I could not understand a word he said. My father let him in the apartment, I was in bed nursing a migraine. I got up and was confronted by a six foot tall black man. I had no idea who he was. I was shocked that he was looking aound and criticizing my efforts as a homemaker.

By March my father had died of end stage COPD. And I was returning from the cemetery. While still in the car, I was called by said social worker. Upon hearing that my father had died, asked me if it was due to natural causes! I have never been more offended by someone who is supposed to be resource for the community.I will never use this community center again.

My mother-in-law, Maria Molina, had a visit today from Ms. Alisson Garib, the case manager assigned to her. She brought into our home a wonderful energy. She had a joyful disposition and warmth that opened up my mother-in-law. She came across as one who truly loves her work. And based on the amount of time she spent with my mother-in-law, she strikes me as also quite thorough in going through details with her. Sunnyside Community services can be proud of her. What she showed today is precious!

Totally unreliable . Getting the same Home Attendent consistently is like pulling teeth. The supervisors are hard to reach on the phone , and fail to communicate with both the Home Attendent, and the Client that is assigned to the Home Attendant. This agency lacks sensitivity , and professionalism. I would not recommend this agency to anyone.
