My family loves Sunday River. Ski in out accommodations are plenty
For New England skiing, this is as good as it gets. Have been visiting Sunday River for years and they always find a way to have plenty of skiing available, regardless of how much snow has fallen.
All around, I enjoyed the mountain and would go back again. The lodge is tight for space and I would enjoy more snowboarding accommodations (the store is all ski things) at the main lodge. The water lines were a bit exposed and unmarked. However, in November it's understandable.
I was slightly confused about how to navigate the mountain. It's difficult to make your way back if you switch peaks but it's not impossible. Arora could use a rope lift back to the main line.
The ski is fun but there is very little in terms of real comfort. If you are coming from MA it is ok.
needs better grooming but good place to be after a noreaster
Great mountain, there are plenty of trails for all skill levels. I'll be back this summer to try mountain biking
Simply amazing food, friendly and quick staff and live music to top it off.
Our hillis not the ski area it use to be. When families and pass holders mattered. The area does not feel safe any longer. Far too many people with not enough control over their skis or boards. Sounding old but back in the day when as young skiers we acted irresponsibly the patrol had no problems pulling your pass for a day or two and calling someone in your family and explain why your behavior was a problem to fellow skiers. Bring back Otten and the days of ASC,or maybe a private owner. This corporate this is doing nothing for your average life long skier who love the sport and lives locally. P. Casey
Good as usual my second bad experience with staff there are many good staff but a few rude people can really ruin your experience
Fall viewing trip. Beautiful view. Ride up and walk down for the exercise and views.
Employees are always friendly. Conditions were great.
Got to love 8 peaks on a snowy day. The food is expensive at the mountain as usual. A little pricey at the ticket desk but discounts can be found.
sunday river should not close at 330pm on sunday! cmon! its called sunday river darnit!
Shout out from Dallas, Tx!! Saw y'all represented on the SB. #selfiekid #JT
Love this resort! Very clean and the staff are outstanding.
If you like high lift ticket prices and questionable terrain that probably shouldn't be open to skiing this resort is for you lol.
Very expensive lift tickets! Lots of ice but grooming guns were going. Skiing backside nice but difficult to get back from!
Great people great environment :) happiest place in the Western mountains of Maine
We ve got along history with Sunday River, when it s good it good when it s bad...
It s great place, always a fun time night skiing.
Stayed at the Summit Hotel...ski in-ski out can't be beat. Accommodations more than comfortable. easy check in check out; outdoor heated pool...all good
Had an amazing ski trip during my Spring Break. Quite possibly my favorite mountain in the east. And I ve been all over Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
Wonderful! First time skiing for my son and just getting back into it myself.
The ski instructors were incredible and the conditions were amazing...especially for the end of March. We are already trying to go back!! My favorite ski experience.
Had a great stay at the Jordan Hotel. Spent two nights and two days here, had plenty of great skiing. We really appreciated the size of the room, which comfortably fit 4 people. The outdoor heated pool and hot tub were also perfect at the end of the day.
I had a lot of fun there, the workers and people were very nice. My group and I went for a trip after our graduation and they provided a great meal and a fun environment!
Thank you for the excellent customer service that I received yesterday (St. Patrick's day) at Sunday River. I had a bad ski tune up from a local shop and asked Sunday River's tune-up shop if they could help me out. It was an epic ski day - so missing out on the fresh new snow would have been "criminal". The tune-up shop was able to fix my skis in 30 minutes! How great is that. Thank you Brendon and ?? So, I waited in their ski shop and looked at demos. And the shop gave me a pair of demos to try out while I waited. Special kudos to the team at Sunday River tune-up and ski shop. They had one objective and that was to have a happy customer. I now have the season pass for next year. Thank you for making my day!! Sunday River and Sugarloaf skier, since 1963
Easily one of the best ski resorts in the northeast. Tons of terrain. Lots of lifts to spread out the crowds. World class snowmaking allows them to open early in the season and stay open longer than most. Fantastic ski school. Tons of lodging and dining options on mountain and close to even more/better dining in Bethel. Only downside is the time it takes to get there, but well worth it.
These people spend a lot of money to keep the conditions fantastic. Massive mountain with consistent shuttle service to bring you where ever you need to go. Kind and courteous staff. Food is average...untill you make your way on top of North Peak and take a look at the menu in the lodge.. Fantastic. Grand Summit Inn on the resort is also excellent with a fun outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi. Rooms are spacious.
Broke my leg because they did up my skis too tight and it will never fully heal. It s been 4 years and it s no better so I would personally not recommend going here if you value your bones. I would give 0 stars if that was an option.
Great ski hill. My family and I used to come here every March break from when I was very young and just learning to ski. Lots of fun and challenging trails, especially the glades.
You just can't beat this place for a family vacation. There is something for every ski ability and is large enough that you rarely have to wait in line more than a few minutes.
Sunday River has great skiing and boarding. Lots of terrain, lots of variety in skill, lots to do off mountain. It has excellent snowmaking capacity and grooming.
Love the mountain great snow making... Disappointed that they discontinued the frequent skier card this year was looking forward to buying one again this year
Skiing was good, includes all natural trails and ranges from greens to double black diamonds. Very spacious lodge.
Had to wait in line for over an hour on Friday morning to get $90.00 lift ticket purchased online because there was only one person working the ticket counter at White Cap Lodge. What a joke , absolutely inexcusable.
Management needs to be fired. This is the 2nd year in a row this has happened. Someone needs to be held accountable!!!
Great ski resort with large number of well-maintained trails. The terrain parks were well-designed with features for all levels. Night skiing was a wonderful bonus (although was limited to a few trails). We hope to go back in the future.
Ski trails were nicely groomed and managed, but food options could have been better.
One of the most fun weekends of my year! Always look forward to it!!!
Went for the New England Forest Rally. The lidge was nice, and the event was well managed. Parking wasn't great though.
Break / dining areas way too crowded. Nice trails. Summit lodging & dining (Camp restaurant) very disorganized and some areas/rooms quite a distance from acton areas (dining, ski check, hot tub, shuttle area). Definitely try to stay closer to southridge area and avoid Summit hotel. Camp restaurant folks nice but clueless and disorganized/not service oriented.
Buy tickets in advance it's cheaper this place is amazing make sure you keep an eye on your friends because the park is so large and has so many lifts that you will lose your friends for days!
Lovely resort with top notch staff and an abundance of equipment.
If you have the Ikon Pass, you still have to wait in line to get a day pass, so come early. It was almost an hour of waiting to get mine.
Not great, not terrible. It is a huge mountain, but they hardly run the lifts if there is wind or some other slightly less than perfect condition. Also, it s really a family mountain. Which is fine, just know that there is nothing to after the lifts close, you have to make your own part wherever you are staying. They do a nice job of maintaining trails.
I went to Sunday River for skiing and the snow was fantastic!
Picked a great day! Check lyftopia for great deals!
The zipline and chondola experience were fantastic. The disc golf course was great but, thanks to the humidity, the terrain was a bit muddy but otherwise fine. Staff were friendly and helpful.
My personal property was stolen there. French people were rude. Expert French youth on the ski team ran over other skiers' skis on purpose. One particular man with an 80,000 dollar Mercedes from Quebec parked where ever he wanted outside of posted parking. People had a horrible attitude there.
I stayed at the Grand summit hotel. We had a suite, it was pretty spacious. The elevators are a little out dated, byt it gives you that old ski resort feeling. The out door pool and hot tub were amazing!
I'm here right now. Perfect conditions, killer slopes! I will be doing this again next season. I recommend getting tickets early. Price seems to goes up the longer you wait.
Phenomenal skiing, incredible food and I just love how nice your staff is. This has always and will be "my happy place"
It's a fun ski area that gets way too jammed with people from Massachusetts to New Hampshire. It feels like whenever there's a decent amount of snow, all of New England comes crashing down on to Sunday River. The only other negative feedback I have for this Resort is that their report seem to be very inaccurate. When they say it's just a Sprinkle you can be assured it's a full-blown rain storm hitting on now. I'd be there Mountain conditions report with a grain of salt and a jaundiced eye. There is lots of challenging terrain at this mountain and it's a lot of fun to ski when the conditions are right. I wish they would do less grooming and let the mountain just mogul up
Lots of trails of blue and green. Alternatively, shuttle bus goes between bases. Slower detachable lift to go to green to get kids used to the faster lifts.
Awesome snow, but a little crowded. Grooming is always first rate, but the amenities are showing their age.
Spent a great few days skiing here. Lots of good powder and staff was very good at making the best of it when it started raining on us.
Expensive but really good for every level of snow sports. Don't take lessons for snowboard it's not worth it my gf spend 3 hours and didn't learn anything. Really dismissive not caring.
Best skiing in the East for skiing. You can almost always get a way from the crowd
Everything here has decayed in quality over the last few years. From the customer service you get when you walk into the door to the selection of food at the breakfast buffet, Sunday River just wants to make that extra buck off you (one waffle - five dollars - and not even a please). The last time I stayed up at the hotel the security staff Ron profiled me based on how I look after he came to our room and was intimidating both my mother and father claiming that my father had smoked in the room. My 63 year old father had been going outside onto an unshuveled deck that we paid extra for so that he could go on the deck and smoke a cigarette as many who go to the hotel do. We were told by Ron that he could have us evicted if he continued to smoked outside. After returning from dinner our hotel door was locked and we went to the front desk to ask what was going on with keycards we were told that sometimes the locks have to be reset and to wait for security to let us in. After 20 minutes of waiting for there security my mother went back to the desk to find what was going on. They told her that she was being evicted and wouldn't even attempt to recommend a place to stay. They claimed someone has walked in the room and a guest was intimidated. The only people that were intimidated where my family by Ron Sunday River security staff who claimed he was an retired state police officer as he walked into a room. Meanwhile had my family been an actual threat my key card had still allowed me into the pool after no longer letting me into the room. Great security. Ron had nothing to say while my mother was sobbing because she's been coming to Sunday River since she was in college with my father and we would come here every year for a birthday for the last 4 or 5 years. Needless to say that won't be happening anymore. My family won't return to Sunday River as long as Ron remains on their security staff. It's very possible that my family will press charges against Sunday River for discrimination, and against Ron personally for slandering my family. I'd like to thank the sheriff who handled the situation as he place no blame on us. I am publicly asking director Mr. Trip Sunday River
of Public Safety to reconsider keeping Ron on the staff. Thank you for everyone that's taking the time to read this and decided to book their ski trip somewhere else.
Great skiing and great food at Sliders! Love skiing a d eating at Sunday River and its restaurants.
Great Mountain, lots of trails and great skiing conditions. The mountain is groomed every day! I would suggest going there.
Wonderful place and well themed. Very homey and inviting. In combination with the mountain itself, a highly recommended place to visit
I attended the tough mountian challege. It was my first time at Sunday River, and plan to go back for future events.
Good mountain with lots of terrain options. Customer service is top-notch
The foods a bit expensive, but the mountain makes up for it by being expansive!
I came here from Boston with a group of friends for a weekend ski trip. It's about 4 hours outside of Boston. The ski instructors were very helpful. If you are learning for the first time they have a package that includes beginner lessons and a lift pass up to the green slopes.
Great mountain for skiing. Lots of terrain, well groomed, great views. Unfortunately only half the trails we're open, but still had a great time. The room was nice. Big enough, cozy, cool balcony. Overall very fun experience.
Sunday River is super friendly to skinning. Every lift operator, ski patrol, and ski instructor was smiling and waving and a few even stopped to recommend certain trails that would be optimal for uphill travel. I did not stay at the hotel, but the food at the summit lodge was delicious, I had a Cuban panini - yum!
