Sun Valley Resort Gretchens Restaurant Review

Way too expensive, but the food is delicious. I live looking out the windows and seeing ice skating

The food was great. The company was great. I loved the resort and the ambiance. The service was quick and helpful. The cleanlines was impeccable and gardens beautiful. I will be back.

It's alright, but it seems not much is made fresh. In the past I have had burgers there, they were alright, but it always worries me when they ask me what doneness I want. In the food safety business, any company that cooks hamburger anything other than well-done or 160 degrees worries us (steak is different story unless it's punctured tenderized). Anyway, I ordered the gnocchi the last time I was there. It was good, but it was prepackaged gnocchi. In fact, almost everything they produce is prepackaged. For the price, you would expect stuff made at the restaurant, but they cut corners whenever they can, and the taste shows. Nothing I've had here could be described as fantastic.

Not a fan. Way overpriced. Poor quality. Good service.

I stood 10 minutes to be seated around 2PM for lunch. The host brought me a drink list, and walked by several times seating others and never brought a menu as promised. After asking a waiter for a menu he brought me one, never took my drink order, and never returned. I waited 20 more minutes to be helped with 3 different waiters walking by me several times. I finally walked out

Food was good, prices were okay, service was nice but S-L-O-W

Absolutely phenomenal. Best steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is great as well. This place is top notch.

You will get best American food here

1st time I been there & wasn't disappointed. The food was superb & the waitress we had was very kind. She let me taste the wine 4 free, since I only like sweet wine & she made sure I had gluten free rolls. I recommend Gretchen's Restaurant highly.

Really fresh and expertly prepared food, but the incredible service is what made this such a memorable experience for our family. Joseph went well out of his way to make sure our 8 year old son felt like he was having the most extravagant dining experience of his life! He's still talking about it over a week later. Highly recommended.

I went for breakfast a few times - the food was lovely and the menu has a set of vegetarian and gluten free options as well. The wait staff is excellent and friendly, and the pricing is also competitive with other local restataunts!

Waited 10 minutes before we seen an employee. I final got up and got the concierge to get someone to take our order. When that finally happened, she forgot part of the order. The food is mediocre at best.

Overpriced Denny's. Food isn't worth half of what they charge you, but it is Sun Valley after all. Try the Ketchum Grill or one of the steakhouses on main Street in Ketchum, much better food at a much better price!

Very good breakfast spot, just a little spendy. But that's SV for ya!

Steak was great..cocktails were solid and the service was prompt. Can't ask for much more. Inside of SV lodge is really cool with lots of historic photos. Will definitely be back.

Good food, but the service was agonizingly slow and they messed up a couple parts of our order. Probably won t go again while we re here, food was good but not worth the wait

Great breakfast. Joe's Special was perfect. Excellent service.

Because this is so convenient in the Lodge it becomes the de facto back up dinning option. Having had several meals here under such conditions I have say the meals always have memorable parts. Tonight it was grilled salmon on a bed of mushroom risotto. The salmon was moist with a crispy top and roasted fennel. The mushroom risotto was one of table members favorite but for me it was the fish.
A great key lime pie with mango sauce was happily shared also.
Not all items were as well liked and it's a somewhat limited menu but it can be a nice occasion

Caesar salad was bland. Chicken cold and rubbery. We were the only people there on a Friday night and couldn't get our server to check on us. Very, very disappointing for the price and locals.

Great atmosphere and incredible food. The chef really has an amazing menu and selection. Can not wait to try it in the summer months as well.

Service was great. Clam chowder was excellent. Burger and fries were okay. Prices a little high.

Pretty bad. Our waitress was friendly but pretty inattentive. We were 1 of 3 tables and were checked on maybe twice the whole hour we were there, this was only an issue because our water and drinks stayed empty for quite a while. The appetizer was pretty disappointing, i get that this probably isn t the best or most authentic place to get chips and guac, but a pretty hard one to mess up. The guac and salsa were both fine, but the chips were chewy. Like you opened a bag and forgot about them and then found them 2 weeks later and ate a few. My steak was pretty good, only complaint here is that it was pretty pricey for such a small steak, but it was tasty. My wifes dish on the other hand was a much different story. She ordered a chicken dish. The chicken was extremely dry and the rice was overcooked. I tried myself and it was pretty bad. Overall this restaurant was pretty disappointing and the staff on the way in was less than friendly.

Came to eat it says it's open and people are in there eating and they say they dont open till 5pm it is 324 now. Smh what a disappointment...
