Sun Valley Resort Review

Better than Park City and Jackson by far. Don't tell anyone else.

Beautiful resort. The inside staff could use a bit more training in being attentive to people staying here. There were multiple times where we would sit and wait for someone to just make eye contact and not walk by. Even when we would ask for help the staff would ignore and keep walking by. Valet guys were fantastic!

The staff is nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and nice. There is a lot to do at the hotel.

We stayed in one of the condos. It was really nice except one of the toilets was plugged. You do have access to the lodge amenities such as the pools, spa, and restaurants.

This resort is one of a kind, it something for everyone, in both winter and summer

We stayed here during their slow period on a "staycation". It was really nice in the room, the shower and tub were great, I liked the soaps and they offered a good amount of services. It was certainly one of the nicer hotels I've stayed at, they did a great job on the recent remodel.

Great place to stay! Beautiful setting in thre mountains. You never have to leave the resort, it's got everything you need, ice skating, movie theater, bar, bowling, pools, tennis courts and a grocery store as well as boutiques and spa. Very nice large rooms, clean and well kept. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to the cute little town and all the shops.

Even though the mountains around Sun Valley haven't had much snow this year, the snow on Sun Valley Resort's runs is great. They have state-of-the-art snow making and it shows! We always feel comfortable booking a trip here because of the snow making - it means you're pretty much guaranteed to have great snow. They have an incredible variety of runs here, the views are stunning and the runs are super long. Love this resort!

Beautiful area, hotel is very classic and the service w was excellent. Little bit of a Shining vibe.

now I'm a really biased because I'm an employee here and they let me stay in the room so I can get paperwork done the next day so I didn't have to travel 9 hour over all but this place is freaking awesome! Also the customer service is super great like they are always welcome you and say hey how you doing and actually mean it also is very beautiful country and just super awesome!

A/C didn t work. No blinds to keep out the sun to allow you to sleep in and room phone couldn t call out to front desk.

Staff are really nice, but mostly really nice as they give confusing directions, explain while something isn t working, or promise to fix something that should have never been an issue.

Andrew at the front desk said they would fix it by 3 pm but nothing was done.

Now it s 11:47 pm and I m waiting on them before I go to sleep.

Great for 3 star place. Doesn t meet expectations for 4 stars.

Great Resort, every single person we encountered who worked here was super helpful, nice, happy, and friendly! They have a wide range of activities from the gun club to bike rentals, to ice skating. I highly recommend visiting the gun club, it's a great place to shoot trap, skeet, sporting clays etc. Very scenic and the people working there are friendly, non-judgemental, and ready to help anyone who has questions without making them feel stupid. The food and drinks were great and everything was very very clean. A world class place to visit with plenty of fun and relaxation to be enjoyed!

Sun Valley has great rooms, friendly staff and, awesome views of Baldy and The Sawtooth Mountains.

Very nice room! I wish they had more options for breakfast and the website wasn't clear about the pools being heated which would've been nice to know before going.

The service at the spa is terrible and about prices is crazy! So sad because the place is magical in winter.

Phenomenal location, spacious rooms, and great shopping (when it's on discount!) and gorgeous walking paths. This is our favorite trip every year.

Ice time is really pricey ,but the experience on the outside ice is priceless. You won't find better coaching anywhere.

Loved staying here. Morgan and Roger were specially amazing. Super friendly staff, clean spacious rooms, outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi.. With bar service and shuttles that take you anywhere any time of the day/ night...
The bar itself is very nice with once again friendly staff and a photo gallery... ( Try the pretzel ) Making you walk through the history...

It's a great ski resort, snow is low yet but it is fantastic with good snow. I must say they still do a great job with man made snow though. The whole enchilada is worth a visit to this spectacular community.

I would love to tell the world how great my experience was at Sun Valley Resort. We came in the middle of the night to the resort. We were welcomed with a smile!! The following day we went to go skiing..Stephanie S. was superb in getting us fitted & out to our ski instructor. Everyone is just so happy! It was such a smooth and easy operation. We got out to the slopes and we enjoyed our lesson with TC C. so much--we kept coming back so we could elevate skiing abilities!! So grateful for such an outstanding group of wonderful people!! Thank you for making our ski business/vacation trip fantastic!

We had a great breakfast on the resort grounds! Loved it!

We attended a concert in the Sun Valley Orchestra Festival Series. The music was fantastic. It was the perfect atmosphere to bring our children and introduce them to an orchestral concert. We enjoyed being able to enjoy the concert as a family over a picnic dinner. The scenery was beautiful.

Beautiful resort. Loved the flowers and landscaping with the mountains behind!!

Nice village with plenty of fun shops: had ice cream at their ice cream shop, also served specialty hot cocoas! Great gift shop, amazing main lodge with a bowling alley, spa, restaurant, etc.

Also rented snowshoes from their Nordic Center and tried their trails. Beautiful scenery in and out of the woods and near a small river.

And of course the alpine ski area is the best. Excellent grooming, scenery, and fast lifts.

Loved the 4 bedroom condo. Very spacious, and cozy. The bed was a bit hard for my liking but all and all it was a great stay.

The service here is by far the best we have had! Plus, there are so many fun activities to do. We love visiting here!

It's a pretty beautiful place! With the Swans in the lake and all the different shops. It's a fun and relaxing place to go

The rooms in the Inn are a little dark whereas the rooms in the lodge are beautiful!...
We loved the breakfast at the Konditorei! Also the service staff in the resort was very friendly! Two little downsides: the pools are quite crowded and the service staff at the bike rental not very motivated.
Nonetheless, overall we enjoyed our stay a lot!

I drive a shuttle bus for Salt Lake Express to Sun Valley twice a day each week and I enjoy doing it because it is not only very beautiful up there but the employees I interact with up in Sun Valley are very courteous and polite to my passengers and myself, I look forward each week to driving up there, either from the Boise area or from Eastern Idaho and Salt Lake City..

Village Station bar was a great place to watch NFL.

We stayed here for a few days and the accomodations and service were great. Our room had a refrigerator and no freezer so we had to request ice a few times to keep baby bottles cold for outings. They were always prompt and polite. Didn't get great pictures on account of the smoky air from fires on the west coast, but the pool was great.

Favorite place to visit the famous photo gallery hallways. A walk down history lane. Good drinks and dinner as well in the lobby bar.

The resort this time of year is beautiful with the lights and snow. We enjoyed lunch at Gretchen's in the main lodge and our server was great. We enjoyed the chocolate cake the most! Valet parking made getting to the lodge easy and convenient. I would recommend SV resort to anyone looking for s fun winter vacation.

We didn't actually stay here but we visited the ice rink and shopped at the little shopping area. It was absolutely amazing. So beautiful and everyone was so friendly!

So fun to walk around, from the shops, pond with swans and ducks and food. Great time with the family.

Epic resort with great activities for every age group. The staff is great and very accommodating.

Felt like this resort was lacking a little for the rates...and the amenities are so dated for the area. Would love to see some more kid friendly things in town, mountain coaster, disc golf on the mountain, a bike park on the mountain for a younger crowd, the mountain is very amazing i must say!

Friendly staff, amazing opportunities for kids, families, and everyone. If you are super rich you will have a great time. Otherwise, make sure to pack meals for everyone or you'll be looking at $75 lunches every day.

Great ambiance and resort. Crowds can be a bit of a problem though.

Sun Valley is always beautiful & less crowded in the fall!

This is where it all started, "With the grand opening of Sun Valley, 'America's First Destination Ski Resort,' celebrities flocked to the area to see America's new grand dame of ski resorts." I had a hard time accepting that the first ski resort was in Idaho, not Colorado... but seeing this place made sense.

So much history. The city dies look aged in some parts, but the resort is luxurious and updated. Swans in the lake at the front of the hotel, high-end gift shops, bakery, chocolate shop, restaurants, and a soothing spa to relax in.

Best overall ski resort in the country! Great in summer as well.
