Big room, big bed, clean, enough space for family! Breakfast was good, not too fancy. Place is on hill so not many space for car. We stayed for two nights and didn t move the car at all. Walking distance to Kata beach. Pool is fun! Enjoy it al lot. Happy with this hotel.

Hotel is nice and very close to the beach, but stuff seems inexperienced and not trained. Would have given 4 stars but after we changed the hotel (5mins away) we stayed at an amazing place with awesome service and perfection in every detail for only half the price. Therefore 3 stars only

The atmosphere is shady, the building is a bit old, a lot of pools.

Personally, not much. Entering the accommodation is very difficult and therefore doesn't want to go anywhere For older people, recommend to stay elsewhere.
The room style is almost good. King size bed pushes out 2 small single beds. Therefore causing a groove and stiff back pain

School joined the project, we travel together, the price is 396 , very good value. Check out late 3 afternoons, spacious room, clean, quiet, upstairs view, see the sea, wide pool, not many parking spaces

Rest now in this hotel. I like everything: room, pools, staff, breakfast. I can safely recommend this place for a family holiday with children.

Price and location are attractive, close to the kata beach. Simple deco room which still feel very good, wi-fi signals not good in some rooms. Short mountain path to the hotel but not big problem.

Hotel for your money! The rooms are clean, cleaned every day, parking is free, breakfasts are normal, 3 minutes walk to the beach, well-developed infrastructure: shops, cafes-restaurants, massage parlors! Were very pleased!

In Thailand, this is the best hotel we ve stayed in before! Were with a child of 3 years. All staff is very responsive, smiling! Linen and towels are clean, rooms are spacious. Cleaning daily! Quiet, cozy. From the hotel to the beach about 7 minutes walk with the child. There is a small hill in front of the hotel, 20 meters. The only difficult place. We moved in a rented car - ordered through a company checked by our friends -. Orange car phuket). For 13 days of rest, I have never repeated a cafe, there are a lot of them. Many traveled in cars around. On the recommendation of taking a car rental (car rental - Orange car phuket, can be found on the Internet, Toyota was booked directly from the site), it turned out much cheaper than a taxi.
If we go to Katu yet, we will stay at this hotel again.

I like the location of the hotel. Just about 5 minutes from Kata beach. I would have give a 4 stars rating if the hotel was better maintain.

This little piece of paradise was such a great find!.We have never uncounted such amazing friendly service,and will be looking forward to coming back.located a few mins walk from kata beach.This was perfect for a lazy relaxed holiday.If you want something a bit more subdued,this is the perfect place to stay in Thailand..Only half an hour from pa-tong if you want to get a burst of nightlife.The resort has great views of the whole beach/mountains,and local restaurants are scattered through out.All amenities were in excellent condition..comfy beds,clean and up to date wifi,tv ect.We especially loved the amazing cocktail bar..with stunning views of the beach as the sun goes down..you wont want to leave!

Near the beach, the nearby food is also very close, down the hillside straight, are snacks, the hotel has motorcycle rental, if you have a car, it is recommended to go shopping in Phuket Town, there is no big shopping mall nearby, there are 711 at the door. The hotel is clean and quiet, and the sea can be seen on the 8th floor.

Myself and my wife loved the New Years on the sky bar terrace at sugar palm the fireworks all around the bay were amazing

We loved our stay here. The rooms are elegant, modern and clean. All rooms have a nice view, or a pool right outside your door that you share with only one or two other rooms. Food and shopping starts only a block away from the hotel and continues from there. This place appears to be a little less expensive than many of the other similarly ranked hotels but this is likely because it is a little farther from the beach. The walk to Kata beach is about 5 minutes, though if you want to go to a nicer less crowded beach, you can walk to Kata Noi in about 20 minutes. Every night the rooftop bar serves 2 for the price of 1 drinks that are pretty good. We extended our stay by a few nights because we decided we didn't want to leave. We highly recommend this place.

Good hotel: clean, friendly staff, excellent location, view and close to the sea. A little expensive in comparison with others.

Great bed NOT rock hard good ocean view helpful staff and a good choice at breakfast no shortage of swimming pools in this resort....the only concern is it's a bit of a steep road to climb if you have any trouble walking try another hotel .Kata beach is definatly worth looking at it has more of a surf culture with board hire and lessons.

Personally, my opinion is that the hotel does not reach 4 * ...
Here are the pros:
1. There is a refrigerator, which is refilled every day with two 0.5 liter bottles of water, one can of local beer, one can of cola and a box of juice.
2. Free safe.
3. Spacious room. (We took a deluxe room with a jacuzzi).
4. Kettle and tea accessories: coffee, tea, sugar and cups.
5. Air conditioner.
6. Television, but I didn't see the point in it, since there is only one Russian channel.
7. Shower accessories: shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush with paste, ear sticks and shower cap, which are also refilled as needed.
8. Excellent sea views.
9. Dense and dark curtains, you can take a nap during the day.
Now the cons:
For 14 days of our vacation, we never washed the floors, accidentally spilled liquid so it stayed with us until the end of the vacation.
Outside the window, fireworks are constantly exploding - every day, starting at approximately 21:00. They can bang up to three in the morning, at first we were scared and woke up because of the noise, but then we got used to it.
Very small gym.
Breakfasts are standard: scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, vegetables, muesli, cheese, coffee and tea. The pastries are not tasty. For 14 days, the monotony of dishes is boring.
Few hangers for things, be sure to bring your own.
It is inconvenient to go up to the hotel, as it is located a little on the mountain.
There is little lighting in the room, but it seems to be normal for Thailand.
Bad wi-fi, the higher the number, the worse the signal. (catches perfectly at the reception).

Nice relaxing place that have a concept of a pool terrace. Make reservation for the pool units.

Vr gd place, tho old building but one of the best location for conveniency. Room is spacious.

Very well known old hotel which keeping up with changing demand of new tourists from different part of world. Huge conformable rooms with swimming pools view. 15 minutes walk distance to best beaches of Phuket. Very delicious breakfast with many options.

Great room side pools, built against the hill so can be quite an effort to get to the rooms (lifts available). Water views blocked by hillside and other buildings. Facilities nice, internet and tv signal not very good.

Does not break the budget, but has stunning views and fantastic service! Would stay here again!

Pros: pool overlooking the city, spacious rooms. Minuses: pretty shabby, there is no Russian-speaking staff at the reception, there is no elevator to the upper floors 10 and above, a steep climb on the way to the hotel, the sea is almost not visible from the room.

Cool hotel, good view from the room, close to the beach, in the area are many different cafes. Good breakfasts and generally adequate staff, but the condition of the hotel is already quite tired, cleaning the rooms at "3."

Excellent spacious rooms, beautiful view, there are rooms with access to the pool. Good Wi-Fi, free mini bar, cleaning every day. I just didn t like the shower, very small, do not turn around.

Apart from the significant elevation to our room it was a most pleasant stay.

The rooms are anything but clean. The edges of soap etc on the vanity, probably from the predecessor, can still be seen. Sinks are not clean, limescale on the outside. The mirrors and the glass dividing wall between bathroom and bedroom have probably not been cleaned for a long time. I think you can expect a bit more cleanliness for the price category, I'm not in the hostel. Hotel was definitely nice and well-kept, but the times are over. The beach is ok. Nice?! If you don't know anything else, he's beautiful.

This hotel is unsuitable for Europeans! Tiles are missing in the swimming pool and the edges of the swimming pool are very sharp (risk of injury). After consulting the reception, the sauna has not worked for a year. Spa area is pure disaster. Rooms are dirty. The food is not good, some things are spoiled. Lack of staff (reception staff is the same as cook and doctor). When preparing meals (fried eggs or omlet), hygiene is dispensed with. The hostel is much better accommodated. Other hotel guests (also Russian-speaking) have confirmed this. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

Top hotel! Close to everything. However, almost 5 minutes walk to reception if staying at the top of the hotel! However, the breakfast is not something special nor is it really cheap. 400 bath per person. Many nice infinity pools.

Sugar Palm Grand deserves much more than the stars provided. Starting off with the hotel itself, being situated against the hillside and having the absolute best view of kata beach from my balcony made waking up early in the morning worth it every time. Its design is very modern and the infinity pools along with the 7th heaven bar provides amazing views wherever you look.

The staff was top notch with friendly and passionate employees who were always willing to stop what they were doing and answer questions or help out with something.

Another bonus is their sister restaurant and bars not too far from the hotel down the main strip of kata, the hotel will provide a free chauffer lift to their venues at Palm Square and also offer a 20% discount on food as part of being a customer. Music and the environment is great there - live bands, activities for the kids, cafes and massages are all on site of the location conveniently as well. I'll save that for the Palm Square review!

Being within walking distance of the beach, plenty of street food, small markets and top notch staff, sugar palm grand is definitely a place to go whether it's for a family with children, couples, groups of friends or even alone! Highly recommended.

A small hotel in Phuket, next to the yarn of Kata. Green area, there are rooms with access to a private pool. Friendly service. There is Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, air conditioning in the room. Walk on the beach for about 7 minutes, you need to go down the hill and cross a busy street. The sea is visible from the room. It corresponds to 4 *: there is a hairdryer, different towels, shower gel, shampoo, hair cap, dental kit, soap, slippers, bathrobes (not terry), safe, tea, coffee, sugar, refrigerator. It contains 2 free bottles of water, a can of beer and juice. The room is spacious, the bath is also quite wide. There is a large flat-screen TV. I found two Russian channels: 1 And Russia. There is also a Chinese channel, but in Russian ?!

We spent there over 3 weeks few years ago! We had the room on top with own pool access. Beautiful hotel, very good breakfest and very nice and helpful staff!!! We can recommend this hotel to everybody!!!

Nice hotel, clean and tidy. We upgraded our room to deluxe room which was spacious. Only problem was we were really far from main reception which could be a problem for some individuals.
Breakfast was not to my taste but considering how much we paid to stay here I can't grumble.

Nice hotel in a great location, a minutes walk downhill into town and 5 to lovely Kata beach. The hotel is built on a hill which makes it sort of stepped. We stayed in one of the higher points of the hotel and had to take 2 lifts and then about 20 steps to get to and from the room. However we did have a great view. The rooms and the hotel are kept immaculately clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The only negative we had was the breakfast, not our cup of tea. Perhaps aimed at the Japanese, Chinese or Russians which made up most of the guests. However if revisiting Kata I would have no hesitation in staying there again.

Nice big clean rooms. A few pools and great location. You have to walk up a steep hill to get to it. And for some reason they no longer have the English tv channels like hbo etc. So minus one star

Stylish hotel on a hill. Suitable for active people who are not afraid to climb up and down the hill. A view of the sea, from the other to the insanely beautiful jungle, everything is green and there is a big Buddha on the mountain. The rooms are clean, with balconies, there are terraces with a jacuzzi. New beautiful pool overlooking the Kata beach. Terrace upstairs.

Friendly helpful staff. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Hot water takes a long time to come through. Breakfast was great and had a good selection. Pool area needs some attention/upgrade but you are close to the beach. Great location and close to everything.

Hotel rooms are not expensive. Beautiful view, worth the price booked.
