Mark and his wife were both very gracious hosts and accommodating. The grounds were gorgeous and the home meticulous and quaint. Would highly recommend for a quiet getaway. Also a great spot for animal lovers.

My husband and I got married at the RED house (about 20 minutes from the Great Tree Inn) and we chose to stay here along with some of our bridal party. It was a wonderful stay, such a cute, cozy B&B, very clean. The owners were amazing, they were so nice and accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. I think we will definitely be going back in the future for anniversaries.

The Great Tree Inn is awesome. Here is how my wife and I describe it - - cozy, laid back, professional, convenient, enjoyable, comfortable, and VERY reasonable in price. Mark and Sheila are the quintessential B&B hosts. The barn - - the animals - - "the girls" (free range hens) - - the breakfasts - - the location - - it is all the way a classic B&B should be. This is THE PLACE to stay in the Chautauqua area.

Mark and Shelia are very accommodating at their lovely little B&B. My fiance and I stayed in the blue room and it was perfect. A beautiful farm landscape outside of the house with each room having a private bathroom. The breakfasts were delicious and made with farm fresh eggs. The rooms are reasonably priced and within short driving distance to wineries and brewpubs and other attractions. Mark and Shelia gave us brochures and gave us suggestions as well. Safe to say we will be back again.

There was nothing available when I called but the gentleman was so nice. He gave me suggestions for places who he just heard had rooms and some advice on the area. If he is this nice to someone who can't stay there imagine how you would be treated as a paying guest. I will definitely be looking into this place in the future. Thanks!

If you're ever in the Chautauqua area, or just loo...

If you're ever in the Chautauqua area, or just looking for a restful refuge, The Great Tree Inn Bed and Breakfast is the ideal getaway. I highly recommend it.

Our weekend was perfectly lovely, utterly quaint and entirely restful. We toured the 1850's farm house and took advantage of every single seating nook. This bed and breakfast stayed true to its origins with some of the most beautiful antiques.

Despite the very large and solid furniture, the whole house had a warm and inviting feel, starting with the fresh chocolate chip cookies which were there upon our arrival, to the small fridge filled with water and yogurts to the coffee and tea bar, available twenty four seven.

The whole place was bursting with charming little touches and this place had them in spades. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, complete with bathrobes, makeup removal pads, a hair dryer, and cozy slippers which greeted you at the front door, along with the owners Mark and Sheila.

Mark and Sheila are a friendly and down to earth couple, who exchanged their routine life in the city for the adventure of owning a small bed and breakfast in the country. They are more than just home owners and gracious hosts though. They also run a working farm, complete with a flock of furry friends.

A benefit of the family farm is half of my breakfast came right from the barn twenty feet away. The other half came from local business' right in the area. Talk about a farm to table movement. It feels good to know where my edibles are coming from.

Honestly, the entire experience was wonderful. Located only a two hour drive from Cleveland, I'm already looking forward to a return visit in the Spring with my girlfriends, so we can escape to the local wineries, check out the world renowned Chautauqua Institute and head over to Lily Dale for a day of spiritual enlightenment.

Wonderful place. It has a magical old feel. We were greeted warmly by Mark and Sheila and given a brief tour. Our room was comfortable, and we were able to spend much of the evening sitting by the peaceful fireplace. Coffee, tea, cookies, water, yogurt, and chips were all available for our enjoyment. Then breakfast was incredible. A++++ and highly recommended.

I was very pleased with the weekend that we spent at Great Tree Inn Bed and Breakfast. Mark and Sheila were exeptional hosts! Excellent made from scratch breakfast with farm fresh eggs and smooth coffee. Coming up from the city, I really enjoyed the farm animals that grazed outside my bedroom in the morning. Ducks, chickens, two goats and two donkeys. Also the view of Chautauqua Lake when coming down the hill in Mayville, N.Y. is one of the best views in the whole area!
