Straz Center for the Performing Arts Review

This is a very nice venue, but the parking sucks around this area.

We have seen multiple shows here. Beautiful venue right on Tampa Riverwalk. Acoustics are top notch. Service from staff is impeccable. Plenty of parking in city garage nearby.

The play waitress was simply the best. If you get the chance " must see"!

We moved here from New England, and one of the first things we did was to attend concerts and even some plays here at the Straz. Ok, so it's not the Boston Symphony Orchestra but the Florida Orchestra is still very enjoyable.

I enjoy the entertainment for the most part. However, I was disappointed that the side parking lot rate doubled and the garage rate also increased significantly . Worse of all, the drastic increase of the price of season tickets specifically the cloud seats. I'm afraid greed is going to take over the pleasure of attending the Straz Theatre .

Almost all seats are great. Have awesome performances. However, when you order tickets on line, there is a seating chart. Downside, there is no choice between the rear orchestra and mesonine seats. When I purchased my ticket, the chart showed I was in the mesonine, instead I was rest orchestra. Still OK seats.

I really enjoyed watching Hamilton there. Staff made my time there very pleasant

Chaperoned a 2nd grade field trip to see a science/magic show and they were well organized with seating, instructions, etc. Great job and great show!

Went there for Wicked and had amazing seats though we sat in "the back" rows.

A great venue for the arts. Balcony and mezzanine seats can seem far away, but literally anywhere on the orchestra level is fantastic.

This theater is a great asset to Tampa, beautiful facility.

Ive been coming to various events at the Straz Center for over 20 years. Have yet to be disappointed by a production!

We have been to the Straz twice. Both plays were top of the line. Great acoustics. Personally, we prefer to see our plays here rather than on Broadway!

Didnt go inside but excellent place for night photos.

Good show. Wish there were more bathrooms available upstairs, especially for handicapped people.

Great place. It was beautifully decorated and the Maestro Cafe was great. Great place to see a play. The tickets are reasonably priced and the staff is very nice.

Friendly staff, that are willing to help. The facility is well kept and very modern.

The shows are just not up to the expectations we had. I've been to three shows in 2 months, and the only one I liked was a comedy routine by Russell Peter. But the actual theatre stuff is very bad.

I love coming here regularly with my season pass. It makes me feel wealthy and important. Well worth not eating for a month

Great facility with terrific sightlines in each theater. Nice refreshment opportunities in and around the venue.

I love going to see shows here. There are excellent shows both new and the classic. Even the "bad seats" are still really good and the staff are very helpful. Get there early to get good parking and dine at the featured restaurants for a nice treat. It's pricey but very nice.

Nice performing art center, my daughter was in the fine arts festival through the school district of Hillsborough County, and the kids were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF THE PERFORMANCE

Lots of great shows, especially the Broadway plays and musicals. Hamilton was amazing!

Great place for a graduation or show. Note that parking can be as much as $20 during special events.

First time I seen a play was here. I took my wife to see Cinderella it was awesome I will definitely go back one day.

We have been there several times and had a wonderful time every time. This time for Fiddler on the roof. We got there early so we could enjoy the entertainment on the outside stage. STRAZ thought of everything. Tables, chairs,drinks and entertainment. There's an army of guides inside to help you anyway you might need. The show was in the large theater (2600 comfortable seats) there are no bad seats. There are 3 additional smaller theaters in the complex. Everything went perfectly. If you have the opportunity to go to a play at the Straz i recommend you do so.

Great place to see a show, but parking is often an issue. Come early an eat at one of the local places. Relax and enjoy.

Very spacious allows for kids to have a good time when there's a cook kid performance such as the one we went to

so don't misinterpret the three stars that I'm giving them as that this place is useless the reason I'm giving them 3 stars has I got a beef with their prices their food prices in their stupid charging five bucks for stupid little small bag of m&M's is inexcusable.not to give him credit where credit's due the place is got the most exquisite bathrooms and if you're needed to drop anchor I highly recommend this place gives up on the second floor on the North side they have a family restroom there which has the absolute every amenity you could ever need magazines charging station for the phone and it's rarely used because it's kind of a out-of-the-way hidden spot and I'm not going to tell y'all where it is because I don't want to start to become a busy place.

There is enough parking lot near the theater, the seating is comfortable and the staff is very kind!

Beautiful facility with curtious and helpful attendants and world class shows.

The Straz is trying to keep the Arts alive while protecting its employees, volunteers, performers and especially the guests. The Nutcracker is being performed now by the very talented students in the Patel Conservatory in a new and unique way that is Covid compliant. You will be surprised and happy when you see this performance.

Wonderful place. We saw rent. The sound was a little messed up though. Other than that wonderful place to see a show.

I saw Leonard Cohen perform here; how does it get any better than that?

The staff is so friendly and kind. One concession woman gave me a Ziess so I could clean my glasses to see Wicked clearly. Other staff gave guidance for bathroom at break.

As a Broadway season ticket holders we love the variety of what is offered to see. Never disappointed in selections.

Nice auditorium .. but it needs more parking space , it took half an hour to find a parking to get to my cousins graduation.

Had a great time watching The Book of Mormon. We paid more to use the parking lot directly across the street. Very convenient and easier to get out of than the parking garage. There was a security bag check and metal detector before we entered the building. We ate at the buffet before hand. Food was plentiful and hot. Sat in the mezzanine for the show. Seats were somewhat small but comfortable. Ladies bathrooms could use more stalls but the line moved quickly. Overall a very nice building and theater. Would definitely come here again.

The closest thing to Broadway in Tampa. Let s be clear though, the quality of Broadway shows is off the charts. Straz is still on the charts.

Very unique place, good valet parking, very accessible, and everyone is very nice and helpful, highly recommend.
