First time skiing in VT. Stratton was excellent! Most trails were open, lots of fun variety. Great options for beginniners and a decent number of blacks&double blacks for more experienced skiiers. Very clean facilites. Would recommend visiting. Also - Buy lift tickets in advance!! Will definitely save some $.

Went during a holiday weekend so it was crowded. However, we still had an awesome time. They even gave out these delicious cookies while waiting on the gondola lines. The conditions were amazing and the snow soft. Definitely will go back soon.

There is a reason the nick name for Stratton is Flatton. The ski area has done extensive smoothing of all the fun characteristics on the trails. There is very little variation in the terrain between the trails. The skiing gets very boring very quickly. The reason for the trail smoothing is that the ski are caters to beginner and intermediate skiers from NYC. I have never seen a ski area with more beginner skiers. Many skiers don't even understand the skier responsibility code , so be careful if you ski here. The skiers do not tend to understand the rules on the ski trails. They ski like they are driving in NYC. In general, the resorts guest are very rude to other guests

The ski area caters to upper income people from NYC. They advertise all over the city. The ski area does not readily welcome day trippers, people who drive in the the day or stay off mountain. They tend to prefer people who ski and stay at the resort, ie spend lot's of money. The staff has snobbish attitude to many people in the lodge and on the mountain. This is the mountain of the have's and have not's.

The ski area does a great job with snow making, but they tend to over groom the trails. Be careful of weekends, the mountain gets very crowed. They sell a lot of 100 dollar plus lift tickets. The lift lines get very long, I think the over sell tickets. You will wait a long. long time at any of the lifts. Oh and you can pay a premium on top of your ticket and have the right to cut the line. This is not a skiers mountain. This is a place to see and be scene.

Great mountain with a gondola and high speed 6s everywhere. The relatively small ski village is upscale and has that Colorado/European feel. I had the best snow conditions I've ever had on the east coast. It dumped 5in of powder while I was skiing.

I have been going to Stratton for twelve years and usually it is very well run. I do believe you get what you pay for but $95 for a lift ticket when there is barely any snow is just greedy. I opted not to snowboard this weekend and save my money for next year, hoping we will get more snow.

They call this mountain the Vail of the east and it definitely has that feel to it with its quant little village at the base filled with unique resteraunts and shops. The grooming and trails are always impeccable and the staff is very friendly and eager to help. This is one of my favorite vermont mountains and I usually travel there from central New York about 3 times a year to ski

Great place for skiing in the East. One of the few with it's own village at the resort. Trails are plentiful and we'll maintained. I would recommend anyone close by or planning a trip to Vermont to ski Stratton and enjoy all it has to offer.

Beautiful view and friendly staff. Their covid restrictions however are ridiculous with closing all bathrooms but 1 for "safety" (sounds way less safe), no lockers for "safety"(makes absolutely no sense) and they have 2 trashcans in the entire facility. The parking is an absolute mess and unbelievably annoying because since there is no lockers you must walk to and from your car every time you need anything to to change boots.

Opted outside for black friday. First time to Stratton. Used icon pass for the first time. Conditions were great for early season. Some natural snow but obvious they had been working hard to make snow. Stopped into the ski shop to get some help for my daughter who was experiencing a problem with her ski boots. Staff was super knowledgeable and helpful. Food in the lodge pretty typical for a ski resort. Definitely would go back.

Went there to ski for the first time, it's a bit pricey, the parking gets crowded quickly so you may have to park at far away lots and they bus you over and it's crowded so the lines fill up quickly. Overall, a pretty lodge and good instructors.

First time skiing the East and Stratton was a great experience. Went on 12/24/17, so right before the Christmas snow. Conditions and pack were what I was told to expect. Definitely enjoyed the experience and will certainly return.

Been skiing at Stratton for 3+ years. They have great deals if you buy season pass early on. Avoid major holidays and crowds not a problem. Totally disagree with other who complain about customer service. Staff tries to help resolve issues. Food staff does lack in friendliness but there's other options.

My fiance and I go somewhere every year between Christmas and New Year. This year we went to Stratton because he went when he was younger and had a good time. He snowboards but I've never learned. I decided to do a ski lesson while we were there. This is definitely the worst holiday trip we have been on. We stayed at the Black Bear Lodge. For 4 nights we paid over $1,500 and got a room I wouldn't have paid $500 for. It was dark, dingy, and dated. The carpet was hard and looked dirty. The bed was hard as a rock. The heater/air conditioner was incredibly loud. We had kids running up and down the halls banging on doors. The walls and baseboards were cracked and the blind over the window was so thin you could see right through it and no curtains. What made that even worse was the fact our room looked at the parking lot so we got to stare at the back of a car. We had to hang a blanket over it to get privacy. For the money we paid we were sick to our stomachs. After driving over 8 hours we slept and I talked to the manager the next morning. She listened and was friendly but wasn't much help. She acted confused and surprised when I said it was so dark you couldn't see in your suitcase (because there's only 2 dull lamps & didnt understand why the blind was so thin..) I told her we stayed somewhere the night before at a third of the price and had a mini apartment (this lodge has NO amenities) and she smartly said, "But it wasn't a ski resort was it?" Not really the point when the lodging didnt come with lift passes or anything to do with the resort. It is still a basic, run down, cheap hotel. They switched us with someone else who hadnt arrived yet and at least this room looked like it has been painted recently and we had a view of some snowy trees. Bed and heater still horrible and got the worst night's sleep. Not worth $1500 AT ALL...On a positive note, the ski lesson was worth the money and very nice instructors.

Terrible customer service!!!

Terrible customer service!!!

We booked a learn to ride package with the mountain for 1/20. We arrived nice and early to the mountain, only to find that they were shutting everything down for the day due to high winds. Stinks, but ok, it happens, not their fault.

We go to customer service about a refund for our purchase, and they give us a gift card, assuring us that it wouldn't be a problem to rebook the same package, even when I said we wouldn't be able to come back for two weeks.

Imagine my surprise when we call them about getting the same package two weeks later, and they tell us that it's another $100 bucks as the promotion is over, despite that they had told us the exact opposite two weeks ago. "Ok," I think. "That's stupid as you told us the opposite, and you should really honor what you cancelled/ruined for closing the mountain when every other mountain in the area stayed open, but fine."

So, after going through all of this on the phone, I ask for my gift card to be cancelled and the funds spent to be returned to my account, and so far that's "not possible" is what I'm getting from 3 different reps. I ask to speak to a manager and I'm denied. So not only did you not honor your word after I wasted time and money going there and back, but now you won't even give me my money back? I have to go spend it there, which at this point is the LAST thing I want to do after this experience.

Did I mention their website said nothing about the winds when we checked it that morning multiple times on our long drive out? This is despite half the mountain being closed before we even arrived, and the other half closing while we were waiting in line to redeem the online purchase (you'd think maybe they'd tell you that rather than let you make the purchase, but I guess that would be reasonable).

The mountain itself is fine for riding, I've been there before, but this is the first time I've dealt with their horrible customer service. I won't be coming back, and thanks for making a bad initial experience for my fiancee's first foray into snowsports. No wonder Stratton loses so many people to other mountains in the area. Other places that are usually too crowded, but treat customers well.

Busy! but a great downtown area right at the foot of the mountain, and the slopes are pretty decent as well! The only thing that pulls me back is that it can get exceptionally busy here, and the lines and slopes get crowded..

Stratton is great for what it is, a well maintained intermediate mountain that caters to the NYC area skiers. Lifts, snowmaking & grooming are great. Terrain is sort of boring for expert skiers. It gets very crowded on weekends.

The stay was great! My family stayed in the Hearthstone Lodge. It was very accommodating for my handicapped grandfather. Everything was clean but there were some minor cosmetic damages to the room. Over all a great time.
