Stratford Festival Review

Nice theatre and good show. We watched Billy Elliot

Even on a Thursday matinee the cast gave their all in the current production of the Scottish Play. Sitting in the cheap seats I was still wrapped up in the production and performance.

A wonderful and stunning threatre company. There are 4 stages: The Festival, the Tom Paterson (which is being rebuilt), the Avon and the studio. The Festival stage and Studio are tanya stage with the audience is seated in a fan around the stage, the Tom Paterson is generally setup like a run way cat walk and Avon is a more traditional shaped stage. The company has it's own custume, props staff that turn out hundreds of custumes a year. The do 3ish William Shakespeare plays a year but there are others generally 2 musical and some comedies and something else. It is one of the most magnificent and magical places. Go and enjoy. There are accessible seating and facilities at all the stage. You can get device for the hard of hearing to increase the volume. If you have a real need then talk or email them. There are devices for the blind to have audio of the enter and exit, sign language days and days for austic people were the light are not fully down.

As usual overpriced beverages, and snacks but it was expected. There are beautiful gardens and a nice gift shop with interesting items to choose from with decent prices.

Really fun festival and great plays ! Wonderful theatre too.

Just saw The Merry Wives of Windsor transplanted to Stratford Ontario in 1953. It was a delight! The set and costumes were perfect - and the acting brought the old tale to life.

Out standing live performances. Rocky Horror Show, To kill a mockingbird, The Music Man and the Tempest on this trip. A must travelled trip.

Beautiful city with many shops, restaurants and shows! Something to suit everyone young and old.

If you are looking for quality Canadian theatre, this is the place to go. I enjoyed the three shows that I saw at the festival. High recommend that everyone should go there at least once.

We saw an amazing rendition of To Kill a Mockingbird. Staff are friendly and theater and grounds are immaculate as always.

Beautiful surroundings with well kept gardens and friendly staff to help you find your seat. The line up for refreshments was too long to really enjoy during intermission.

Saw The Music Man, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Lovely theatre, and the gardens around it are spectacular! >^..^<

Picturesque city with a huge variety of shows and plays. Highly recommended.

Stratford is so pretty. Walk along the river and have lunch before a show.

The Tempest was incredible, the performances by all the actors was wonderful to watch.

Magnificent theatre. Great stage production of Billy Elliot the Musical. Cast was excellent. Grounds were beautiful. Stratford is a great place to spend a few days or a few weeks. Exceptional walking areas near the river with magnificent views.

I love this place. The shows are top notch the staff are great. A little pricey at the concession stands but that is to be expected. Lots of free parking and some really nice restaurants in Stratford

I've been coming to Stratford for years and it never disappoints! This year was certainly no exception. So far I've seen "Music Man" and the "Rocky Horror Show", and you certainly wouldn't know it is still considered preseason as both were amazing. I'll definitely be back this season to take in some Shakespeare. You can't miss this amazing festival!

I love going to the Stratford festival. I have gone to 2 plays with friends of mine. One play was Henry 5th and very recently, To kill a mockingbird. Both plays were great! The acting was top notch and the sets and costumes were amazing! Definitely worth going to.

Saw Rocky Horror Picture Show & The Music Man this week!!! Both were outstanding. Bravo!!!

The Merry Wives of Windsor is a delightful comedy. The cast is superb;the timing is spot-on. I have not laughed as much over a two hour period in a VERY long time.

Seen Guys & Dolls tonight. What else can I say but absolutely amazing, an energy- packed 2 1/2 hours of glorious choreography , song an dance. Cast were all subperb and put on an extraordinary spectacular.

We saw Billy Elliott..it was really good. Very well staged and the actor who played Billy was exceptional. Tix are ridiculously expensive on summer weekends. They have significant discounts early and late in the season.so I will look for those dates in the future

Just a fantastic venue to watch Shakespeare and musicals. Such a beautiful setting by the river. Stratford is a beautiful town with so many great restaurants, B&B's and shops.

We saw 2 shows over the weekend.
Rocky Horror Show was beyond our expectations. So much fun. Audience participation and costumes added to the party atmosphere
To Kill a Mockingbird also exceeded our expectations

I visited the Stratford Festival for the first time in the summer of 1957. It was wonderful then - and it still is!

My grandson attended a day of learning how to fight and battle like the actors do on stage. He toured the Theatre and learned many exciting facts and information theatre goers don't get to know (how he explained it)
He enjoyed the day very much.
A great experience for an eight year old

Double bill ... Rockey Horror and The Music Man. Both very entertaining.

Excellent and Charming historical Inn. Wonderful owners and hosts that make you feel so welcome to Stratford and their hotel. All their suites are amazing. You won't be disappointed with your stay here!

I always have a great experience here. 3rd time coming back and I fall more in love each time. Great festival and great company! This year I did all of the extra tours and it was pretty insightful.

We say A Chorus Line today. What a great show ! Always have a great time at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival !

Saw Othello matinee performed in a modern setting. It was very well done. Tragic ending was moving and tense. Also saw Private Lives evening show. Was laugh out loud funny and entertaining.

Great festival. Always worth seeing a Shakespeare. Not that expensive either.

Saw Billy Elliot and we really enjoyed it. Would love to go to other productions, but tickets are quite expensive

I feel the quality of the plays here are better than Broadway.
I have never been disappointed by anthing at Stafford.
The city itself is a jewel. If dining in town before a production, making a reservation for lunch or dinner is a good idea. Give yourself time to enjoy the garden and a walk along the river. You can pre-purchase a parking spot on line. We are so lucky to have this treasure in Ontario.
