Went to the festival theater to see the music man....
Went to the festival theater to see the music man. It was exceptional.
Went to the festival theater to see the music man. It was exceptional.
Great place to enjoy Shakespeare s plays or other plays that are performed. I personally loved Shakespeare s plays.
Excellent talent and performance from everyone involved. Saw Macbeth, everyone was stellar. Perfect lighting to suit the eeriness of the subject matter, and the acoustics really filled the room nicely.
Absolutely spectacular. I was blown away by everything. The backstage tour was fun and interesting and the actual performances were perfection. Not to mention the gorgeous gardens and lovely staff. I only wish I could be here every day.
Love the theatre! The stage is amazing.. really not a bad seat in the house. I've seen multiple plays here. The production quality is amazing!
Excellent quality! Great show selections with talented cast & crew.
It's always wonderful ,Monday night music was no exception .
Just saw Guys and Dolls. Loved it. Very entertaining.
Saw Billie Elliot...it was wonderful!!! We were third row from the front, centre...I can't describe how good it was. The young man who played Billie, was fantastic. I actually cried during one of his songs. The gardens around the theatre are beautiful, and there is a roof patio on which to sit for a drink or snack.
Been coming here for over 20 years. Some of the best Theatre in the WORLD!!
A superb season of terrific productions this year. The setting is beautiful by the river where you can relax and watch the swans float by. In mid-October the colours were vibrant.
Saw Julius Caesar. Excellent as always. Never had a bad experience in 30 years.
Really enjoyed Billy Elliott at the Festival Theatre.
Awesome, saw sights as well as the amazing play 12th night
Excellent place for plays, musicals and comedy shows
Every play I've seen here has been excellent. The gardens are beautiful as well.
I loved the festival, I hope that I can go there again. Best experience in a while.
Great play and venue. Beautiful gardens to walk. Can't wait to go back
Best town in Ontario, really beautiful and lots to do.
Love this place! Webw been twice and both shows were great.
This time we saw To Kill A Mockingbird - it was AMAZING and breathtaking. The acting was supurb.
Excellent staging, creative productions, splendid casting, energetic performances!
Second time going, what a place! So beautiful and the plays are so well presented, amazing actors! Want to do it more than ever now!
We saw the Music Man and will be back again next season.
Amazing venue, especially if you love Shakespeare. As stunning as the theatre is, it's really the superb quality of the actors that will mesmerize you from start to finish. Recently saw Macbeth, which I have seen both live & video productions before, but this performance was captivating and presented beautifully, with haunting drama and modern humour. Simply the best Shakespearian production I've been privileged to experience.
Stratford Theatre does other other productions as well, like musicals and modern plays. They also have many of their Shakespeare productions available to view "on-demand" for classrooms and around the world. Proud that our students can watch Canadian productions showcasing Stratford and its talented casts. Bravo!!
We enjoyed our time there. However we saw TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD & struggled to decipher the monologue from the children even with the hearing assist sets. Between the southern accent and high pitch it was so
Frustrating to not make out what they were saying.
Second act was adults and NO
PROBLEM getting the dialogue.
I wish me and my parents could go to Stratford festival .
Fantastic Plays! We went to see Tartuffe and Twelfth Night and we're about to go see Guys and Dolls today! Can't wait!
Very nice festival. Good shows. Good food in the city. Nice crowd
Been going to the Stratford Festival since I was young. It's a Canadian icon with amazing shows!
Just saw the opening of Billy Elliott, amazing, run don't walk!!!
Oh my Lord, the Stratford Festival allows you to live Shakespear rather than just imagine it. With English being my second language, I would never have been able to read his works as effectively as the talented crew presented it. Bravo!!!
Great seats anywhere in the house. We ordered dinner and it was delightful. The acting was energetic. It was truly an artful experience.
Its a great place for watching great arts from all different plays
Great talent!!! Always a pleasure every penny was worth the visit
Love going to the Stratford Festival. We have been twice this year. First to see The Ideal Husband and most recently to see To Kill A Mocking Bird and Music Man.
Beautiful theatre. - there really is no bad seat here. Always an enjoyable stress free affair.
Excellent entertainment! Had not gone to Stratford for many years. Enjoyed the show; to kill a mockingbird ....great little town. Don't forget some food for the ducks and geese.
As a matter of fact have putchased tickets for other shows. Look forward to returning to Stratford soon.
Only thing .....eat before you go. I found the restaurants thin on volume of food and ridiculous on the price.
A well maintained theatre that is not showing it's 50 years. From the trumpets sounding the 10 minute warning to the humourous voice over about turning off your phones, it makes for an entertaining afternoon and/or evening. There is a lovely garden. At the front of the theater ( although there seemed to be a preponderance of phlox thus year). The info staff and ushers are well educated on the theatres offerings . They had a pleasant Interview of two of the main actors in the play that had just been performed hosted by a well known critic. It was interesting to hear the actors' perspective of the characters they inhabit.
I haven't been to Stratford for decades. The town was lovely, our Airbnb was fantastic and the performance at the Festival Theatre was delightfully funny and entertaining. Walking by the river admiring the swans and lush gardens was an ideallic experience.
Attended a reading of "A Christmas Carol." Awesome to have accomplished theatre professionals deliver the story just with spoken word. It for a good cause too - to raise funds for the Stratford Perth Rotary Hospice.
Top notch venue for plays. They serve wine and snacks as well as ice cream. Always good to catch a play here when I'm in town.
Went to see Guys and Dolls last weekend. Great show, great theatre, wonderful volunteers and helpful staff! Thank you.
Great theater with amazing shows and helpful staff.
My first time in Stratford ON and it is absolutely class. As a Brit who has had many adventures with Shakespeare in Stratford upon Avon and London I am not disappointed. Every play has been high quality and unique for a really reasonable price! The warehouse tour also made my weekend here highly enjoyable! I'll be coming back next year.
Enjoyed an excellent performance of Guys and Dolls on the main stage. Had front row balcony seats. Excellent location for a play with lots of action. Pleasant evening out - don't miss the opportunity to see a play on the Stratford Festival main stage.
A life time experience. That everyone should have at least once.
Great place for theatre. I have seen many shows here, always a good time. Cute town too!
The oark down the hill from the venue provided free parking and a picnic by the river before the play was an idyllic spot on a Summer's Day. Great play too for To Kill a Mockingbird Bird!
I visited the festival theater to see the production renovation. It s great to play. It is always very enthusiastic to study the time on which Shakesperean plays on the best in terms of performance.
I went to Stratford Festival on a class field trip from Detroit to watch The Front Page. The play was boring af; I slept through half that sh!t. The food is overpriced too; I paid $7 CAD for a freaking ice cream bar not worth it. Also there are way too many baby boomers. I guess this is the chill zone for old people, but it is DEFINITELY NOT the place for millennials and gen z. I felt uncomfortable and out of place there. Would only recommend it if ur old.
We come to Stratford yearly. It never disappoints. We saw 2 musicals: Rocky Horror Show and Music Man. They were both amazing!!! The music, singing, staging, costumes, and the most energetic dancers were all outstanding!!!
Also saw 2 plays: To Kill a Mockingbird and The Tempest. The acting was superb in both. Very moving. I was weeping during Mockingbird. They really got right into the heart of the matter. The child actors playing Scout, Jem and Dill were excellent!! The role of of Prospero was played by an actress. Worked perfectly!! The technological "magic" in the Tempest was vastly entertaining.
Stratford season runs til early November.
Great yourself--go!!
Stratford is always a good show. This trip, we went to see "A Chorus Line" which I'd seen years ago in the Drury Lane Theatre in London, England. Stratford's production was easily on par.
We love going to the festival! Would always highly recommend others to attend!
Great view and sound even from balcony aisle 1 row h seat 180. Amazing theatre.
Consistently great shows year after year. Lots of great restaurants to choose from when you're in town for the theatre.
Went and saw Billy Elliott in October 2019. It was an exceptionally good play, and well worth the cost of the tickets! I saw the movie many years ago, which I felt was less than memorable, but this play is definitely one that you will remember seeing.
We saw 'To Kill a Mockingbird " it was very moving and well performed. Clara Poppy was incredible!
Really enjoyed the Music Man production on 10/11/2018! Very high quality acting, singing, and dancing. The Festival Theater is a terrific venue--large enough to hold a good size audience yet you still feel like you're close enough to see everything that is going on.
