Absolutely a wonderful place for delicious steaks & sides, service is attentive & the beer selection is superb!
Stopped here on a bus tour with over 50 people and had a great time. We started with a quick tour and history lesson from Ed Stoudt which was awesome and then got a flight of 4 beers and some delicous soft pretzels and wings. We had time to try a couple more beers after the sampling and all of the staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful.
My wife and I ate in the restaurant. I had their Pilsner, which was excellent. I had their Osso Buco with sweet potato and sauerkraut. My wife had the Beef Stroganoff. Both were excellent. My only question is, if it is a German restaurant, why don't they call the Osso Buco by its German name Schweinhaxe.
If you want some of the finest craft beer in the US, come to Stoudt's. Ed does it up right!!!
Met some friends here for lunch. The food was very good. If you like German food you must try this place! I had the Veal Schnitzel, they cutlets were a little over cooked for my taste, but the gravy was very good. My son had a burger that he thought was "Awesome." My Wife had the Brats and they were also very good. Great selection of beer too!
Great food, fantastic in house brewed beer selection in PA Dutch country.
The service was excellent, and the staff went out of their way to make your experience there memorable. It was clean and had a great variety of food and beers to choose from. The food prices are reasonable, however the wait time was long, and the food was not quite as good as the service.
Beautiful place, old German motif. Great food and beer.
Nice place but $50 for 2 burgers and fries is a lil much. Burgers were small and just ok no big deal!
Chef went over and beyond to prepare me a special vegan dish with kale, tomato, onion, pepper, zucchini and finger potatoes in olive oil...it was perfection. Thank you, chef and waitress, Sarah.
I ordered takeout from here one evening for dinner and really wasnt impressed at all. Im not sure if it was because we got it to either. The burger I ordered wasnt very good, the patty did not fit the bun at all, while I appreciated the obvious fact a bacon press was not used to flatten it on the grill, it just sucks when your burger is more bun than meat, the meat should fit the bun- its not a hard thing to accomplish. My wife ordered briskeg, with macaroni and cheese, and thats EXACTLY what she got, brisket all mixed together with mac n cheese, it wasnt bad, but very, very lazy presentation to say the least.
Delicious filet! Excellent salad blue cheese crumbles with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Fantastic champagne scallop soup! Romantic dinner. Excellent service.
Great Beer! Great Raw Bar! Great Service.
The Best Beer in America and I've been to many Throughout the country.
Shrimp and Oysters. Salmon andBacon Cheeseburger were great. A little bit much more Bun for the Burger than needed
I would go with the Lettuce wrap next time.
Amazing beer paired with an excellent selection of appetizers and main dishes. The nightly specials are worth listening to. Not all staff is beer knowledgeable but I understand not all servers can be. The atmosphere of the place is laid back, lighting somewhat dim, darker colored walls, lots of art. Worth going just for the beer or just for the food, either could stand alone.
Great food, awesome smoked onion rings w/ panko breading
Food and beer both marginal, service too for that matter.
Good beer, good food...cool old bar, one of PA's first craft breweries
My wife & myself loved it, the beer was outstanding, the food was very good service was good, also loved the tour of the brewery, will definitely come back. Thanks Ed
Great food with very nice servers. We asked a couple of questions and got some great local info as well as suggestions for lunch. The bratwurst was perfect. The overall ambiance is pretty unique and it is definitely a cozy place to visit.
Group of us all got different sandwiches. We all agreed that the BBQ sauce is awful (seem it's more like a marinara sauce). The chicken and brisket sandwich were not good. Brisket is cut extremely thin like paper thin deli meat, chicken was just bland. The Rachel and steak tip sandwich was good. Portion sizes were small. If you plan on getting an entree, expect to spend over $20 a meal. The atmosphere feels like the 1800s. Decor is very dated and the place feels like it's being run down. Staff was very friendly though.
Delicious drinks and food! Amazing service. We will be back!
Kris Kringle made a stop at Stoudts today!!! His little helpers gave out sugar cookies baked in their own bakery...wonderful good market. What fun!!!
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food and beer. A great place to stop in after shopping all day. The burger I had was amazing
I love Stoudt's! I don't know how they could have anything besides a 5star rating! I always get the Pork Schnitzel but had tried many things on the menu. My husband and I love the beer so much, the great food, and the rustic quirky atmosphere so much, we got married there!!! All the cheese and bread is made fresh. Must give it a try.
Great Brewery.W great food and service.Ive bin here a few times...Prices of the food are a little high...but the quality is comparable.
Unfortunately I have to change my last review for Stoudt's. When I came to Stoudts the last time the filet mignon was incredible. Tonight when we got the filet it was burned to a crisp on the outside and not cooked on the inside. It was supposed to be medium well. Our waitress, Lindsay, who is always excellent, took it back. When the filet came back out, it was the same burned steak, still unedible. The manager, Jason, came to our table to inform us he had taken it off of our check but my Mom was never given another steak to replace the first one. My scallops also came out burned, but the second time they came out corrected and were excellent. It's a shame. Stoudts is one of my favorite restaurants, but it needs a new cook and a manager who will make the kitchens mistakes right. The only reason Stoudts gets two stars is because Lindsay is an excellent waitress.
Awesome ambience, beer, food and service. We will visit again
Service was terrible at the bar.Waited ten minutes and Anita was not in the least bit concerned. She did not serve us so we left.Years ago this place was great. How times have changed.
Stood at the reception desk for 20 minutes before anyone talked to us. During that time other couples decided to leave. We finally got seated and ordered drinks and our food. Our appetizer was burned badly and was returned , our main dishes were pretty good ( Crab wellington ). Our drinks didn't arrive until after we received our food , which was between 30-40 minutes. The whole time the waitress never stopped by to check on us. I had to get up and track her down a couple times for refills and silverware. The main dishes were great but the service was terrible. It is a nice place but I don't think we got a good first impression. This was supposed to be our Valentine's day date and was kinda let down.
Excellent food, awesome place to meet friends.
Staff is always excellent.
Its become our go to meeting place.
Great experience. Old world charm with the feel of a German pub.
We have dined at Stoudt s many times for many, many years. The last time we visited this past fall, the service and food were poor. We thought we would give it another try. Another disappointment: flies still swarming the table area around bar (same as the fall). Ordered a cheeseburger cooked medium...when received it was well done. Soggy fries. Hair in soup of the day, we didn t report. Then glass in the entree salad! Sent it back but was only comped soup, even though they didn t know about the hair. Sorry Stoudt s, it s sad to say this beer loving crew will never be back.
Diamond in the rough. Great meal, great friendly staff. Glad we found this place.
Stoudt's, in my opinion, has some of the best craft beer in Southeastern Pennsylvania. They usually have 8 or 9 different styles on tap, and they don't "over-hop" their beers the way so many microbrewers love to do. My personal favorite is the Gold Lager, a bright helles style lager with a beautiful malty finish. I have eaten there a couple of times, and the food was OK, nothing spectacular. They have a full restaurant with a nice cheese selection, classic German food and general pub fare including a raw bar. If you like trying new beers and want a true taste of the Pennsylvania dutch, any trip to Lancaster or Reading should include a stop at Stoudt's.
Great evening - awesome pulled pork - delicious beer
My husband and I went there a few weeks and it was our first time going and it will probably be our last. The place smelled and it was so dark inside. The food wasn't that great and it took forever for someone to acknowledge us. I don't recommend this place unless you go for the beer.
My burger was grease fire burnt. Was very disapointed.
Excellent food, beautiful atmosphere, wonderful and friendly staff, and excellent beer.
Food was good and average portions. My daughter and I sat at the bar for dinner. I ordered 2 drinks at the bar and the one drink did not meet my expectation. After leaving the full drink at the bar I asked for one to be removed. Stefanie the bartender, in an arrogant tone, said "You ordered these drinks why should I take them off". As a courtesy on a $95 check I do not feel that was inappropriate, however after the tone I was addressed by the employee, I would not return.
Awsome as always. We got there very late, almost closing time. But the staff was very friendly and courteous. Great time.
The exterior needs some love. But food was excellent and wait staff super friendly and helpful. Beer was very good and good selection
I very much enjoyed my first visit to Stoudts! The beer was excellent and our server was very helpful with our beer selections. We ordered the pork schnitzel and sausage trio meals and they were both delicious. The decor was fun and interesting to a beer enthusiast!! Definitely will return for the beer and events! Wish there was more of a a breakfast option (other than cold baked goods) at the Wonderful Market or restaurant.
I used to give this place glowing reviews to friends. The bartender was lazy. Didn't offer my gf a menu, forgot my beer, mixed up our order with the only other guys in the place. $6 for a CUP of soup. This place is not a fancy restaurant. I will not be returning. Sorry Ed, it's gone down hill.
Service was good food was bland and overpriced I had the bratwurst grinder 15 dollars for a sausage sandwich the ones at the fair are 10 times better tasting and half the price.
I have lunch here whenever I'm in Adamstown. Good German food as well as the full line of Stoudt's beers. You can even buy some to take home with you.
Delicious food and beer. Great bartender. Attached to an antique mall. Awesome place
Some surprising options on the menu impressed... The Mozzarella Tower is a MUST.
Excellent food!!!!!! The different choices of beer you can order are outstanding! Great atmosphere. Definitely a place to try.
Reservation system needs work. Like when a customer calls for a reservation, and asks to be seated someplace specific and the restaurant agrees, the restaurant should actually follow through and reserve said table - not collectively shrug shoulders when your guests arrive...Thanks Bill.
It was great to put a face with a name. The Pilsner has always been a favorite and having a chance to dine, enjoy the raw bar and happy hour appetizers, and grab some growlers to go was well worth it! The staff were welcoming and the oysters were great. Can't wait to come back!
Called for some information and was yelled at !!!!!!!!!!!!! By the food people.
REALLY Incredible, a unique experience!
What really impressed me was the fact that they serve their own brew and cheese, which they produce.
Five stars for the following reasons:
Gemu tlichkeit Soft Pretzel... delicious!
Wonderful Good Cheese... mmmm!
Crab Claw Penne... to die for!
Scarlet Lady Ale... smooth malt, great beer!
Great service!
Two of our seven dinners were wrong, then, after trying to get them corrected... one was wrong the second time. Offered a comp dessert which was not acceptable at this point. Management unwilling to speak to us to make things right... hostess was sent to deal with situation, who then in turn was telling other customers how rude we were as we were leaving. We never raised voices nor were we rude...just trying to get them to make things right. Will never be back... totally unacceptable mismanagement of an easily fixable situation.
Always had a good experience. Great steaks, cheese and bratwurst. Service was okay other than its always very busy for the antique weekends.
Neat place. Very unique. Some of the best crab dip and soft pretzels I've had at a restaurant.
Fantastic brewpub with an awesome selection of craft brews. This place is well worth the journey out to Adamstown.
This place is ok, I've enjoyed my food both times we went, my parents have not however.
Amazing beer. Love going here for a few drinks. Unfortunately the food isn't as good and is just ok.
We stop here every time we are in Adamstown, six to eight times a year. Their beer has always been and still is awesome. We were disappointed several years ago with the menu change but still visit. Today was not a great visit. I ordered an angus burger well done and it was pink. My wife had a pork sandwich which was not even lukewarm. The cheese on the sandwich was not even melted. We are also disappointed in the menu offerings lately. Please pay more attention to the orders. We have always loved this place but it seems to be slipping.
Oh my goodness the food is delicious, and great big portions! Great place for meat lovers. Great service.
The food was excellent! Had dinner with friends and everyone was happy
I accidentally gave Stoudt's a 1 intending to a 5 . It's definitely our favorite places to eat, drink beer and make new friends.
The building is worth a visit. Unique inside.
Food was meh to be honest. I had the cheese plate for $15. Was good cheese but just cheese and bread with some not good fruit on the side. No chutney or anything...weird.
Coleslaw with sandwiches was not good either. Wasnt that impressed but well try again at some point and try different foods.
Great food and service. The ambiance was beautiful and the customer service was excellent. Definitely recommend. My only issue is that they ran out of several things on the menu and it was still pretty early in the evening. The server and the Manager went out of their way to compensate and make it right. Other than that, had a great experience.
Was expecting normal pub fare and a divey feel, instead had great food in a place that clearly embraced the antiquing community it's set in. Burger was good, salad was good, service was good. It's half pub, half dining area, so you can get either feel. Will definitely go back when I'm in the area.
Arrived at 5:10 and were seated in a nice romantic booth with curtains. Ordered drinks an appetizer and our steaks. The place was somewhat empty. After not seeing our server for about a half hour I thought he forgot about our table. No water refills, no salad yet, and no food. I asked the server for the salads and finally got a salad. At 6:30, 75 minutes after ordering, we still had no food. I got up to leave and asked to speak with the manager. The host said there was no manager, I asked who was in charge and she said she would be right back and left for the kitchen. The server came out with our food in bags to take home. It s now been 90 minutes. I don t want the food, I just want to pay for my drinks and leave. Never spoke to any person in charge. Any self respecting restaurant would have apologized and not charged us. Not this place, still gave me the bill. I paid and left, never to return. I highly recommend you stay away, far away. It was as if nobody knew what they were doing and it was everyone s first night. The service is not on par with their prices. Plenty of better restaurants in the area.

The soft pretzels are made to order and are phenomenal! If you like dark beer don't miss out on the Hobo Ed's whiskey barrel aged imperial coffee porter.
A beautifully appointed dining area, food was really good and the beers from their own brewery right on the premises are delish.
