Beautiful location, average stay. We asked for a cot bed, even rang before we left to confirm and it still wasn't in the room when we arrived. Very frustrating. The hot water goes HOT immediately, not sure if it conforms to regulations? You can't put your hands under it that's for sure. Wedding was pretty good though!

Amazing dinner and amazing breakfast. Just know some rooms are in the extension out back. This doesnt dismiss from how amazing the rooms are. How wonderful the grounds and canal are. Plus the staff are amazing. Warning if you cant do stairs dont book.

We stayed one night with family and friends (rule of six observed) on the 10th October.
A great hotel, lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, comfortable well appointed bedrooms, and most importantly, caring attentive staff especially during these difficult times. We already planning our return. Thank you for making our wedding anniversary a memorable day.

Food was very good , but unfortunately the rooms were dated also had problems getting served food or drinks due to being told as a guest we had to order through their app, which we were reluctant to use and quite how someone without a smart phone could order food or drink I do not know ?also didn't appreciate being awaken at 0900 by a petrol strimmer outside our room , average hotel but the grounds and views were outstanding!!

The room was disgusting, hairs in the sink, rubbish in the draws and the bath was scummy with dirt around the plug. the plug in the bath was stuck in and I couldn't have a shower without the bath filling up. The room was too hot and turning the heating down made no difference. I couldn't open the window because it was windy and blew right open, being on the ground floor this felt unsafe. The walls are thin and I was kept awake by other peoples televisions. When I got the bill for tea there was an incorrect drink on the bill, when I refused to sign the receipt because of the error the waiter walked away and sighed. which was extremely unprofessional. When I spoke to the lady on reception in the morning she wasn't bothered about the many issues I had with my room, which was the most disappointing part

Our group of 11 adults and 2 children stayed over on 11th May, we were very happy with the hotel and were very pleased with how accommodating the staff were on our stay. We realise it can be challenging with a large group and the team made us feel very comfortable indeed and everything asked of them they delivered in a calm professional manner.
Our rooms were comfortable and clean and maybe the paintwork in some was a little tired, but they were well equipped with everything you would need and everyone had a lovely stay. The grounds were pretty and I did think it would be a lovely place to have wedding celebrations and the most amazing thing is they allow well behaved dogs to stay too.
We did eat in the hotel and I would agree that if you were a vegetarian then the menu did not have a lot of choice, but the breakfast was very good and varied enough for most people.
If we were ever in the area again we would definitely stay again. We all enjoyed our stay very much.

We were overnight guests at the Stonehouse Court hotel. A beautiful building with a very authentic atmosphere. A really lovely welcome by the front of house staff. Our room was in the 'newer' extension which is a bit like an 1991 time warp. The room itself was fine, bed not so great, very old mattress with the springs 'feelable'. We stayed for dinner, which was really really delicious. We had the table next to the fire and it was sublime. Really brilliant survive and super tasty food. Very nice wine by the glass to boot. Breakfast the next day was very good indeed! Could have topped it off with some better quality fruit juicrs. So overall, amazing service but the rooms in the 'new' part are a bit dated and lackluster.

Attended the hotel for a wedding and the staff were attentive, friendly and went out of their way to help on the day. The food was exceptional and, although we didn't stay, i heard the other guests say how comfortable the rooms were.

Absolutely incredible place to stay. We drove though the Cotswolds in 2018 and stopped here by accident. Wow, just walking the premises was fantastic, let alone touring the insides of the hotel. I highly recommend staying here, it wasn't that expensive and there is a coin op washing machine down the road in the city.

It is a old styled hotel which is beautiful. For work reasons I have been to this hotel every month. The food most of the times are fine but need to wait for ages. But I also got a food poisoning one time. There is also one time that a waitress spilled a whole glass of bear on my back and pants. Both good and bad, depends on how you judge it.

Rooms were not ready, neither were those according to request. Waiting time for dinner would have been over 2 hours. Not specifically friendly stuff.while dealing with these obstacles. My 3rd visit on this hotel, to be avoided in any cost during my future stays at Stonehouse

Beautiful location and in Spring and Summer it's exceptional. Not well sign posted to find making it a bit of a hidden gem. First impressions are stunning, let down slightly by being served wine in a glass with mould on the rim but it was replaced immediately as soon as I pointed it out.

The gardens and old building which contain the reception and dining rooms is lovely but the vast majority of the rooms are in a separate purpose built block. The rooms are a little tired and shabby and the bathrooms are quite unpleasant. Our breakfast order was incorrect on 2 of the 3 days and was not particularly tasty. It is a good hotel to use as a base for exploring the local area. The staff were all very nice and accommodating but the hotel was let down by shabby/dirty rooms.

Our Grand-daughter was married at this hotel on 9th Februry, 2018. As it is a long way away from home we stayed for two nights in this beautiful building, dating from the 17th century with some history going back to the 13th century.

As such, it is very difficult for the owners to make it disability friendly, with steps and different levels throughout. HOWEVER, the staff were brilliant with my disabled wife, who cannot manage steps, having no ligament in her left leg and knee replacement in the other. They unlocked normally locked doors to ease access for her, reassigned a different room to be our breakfast room, and excelled themselves by carrying her, sitting in her wheelchair, up (and down again!) those main entrance steps in order that we could join our friends and family in the magnificent lounge. That fireplace is something to behold!

The wedding arrangements were splendid, the food delicious and all the staff were friendly all the time. Well done!

We would recommend this venue to anyone.

Spent 2 nights here and we loved it! Room was great and the bed comfy. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and breakfast had so many choices. Great location for easy walk into Stroud.
Might not be suitable for wheelchairs in the hotel as I didn t see a lift and there are stairs. Check before you book. Could do with extra staff at breakfast as there were only 2 waiting staff and tables weren t being cleared. Saying that, we were lucky and arrived at a quiet time. Will definitely be back.

Staff very good although rushed off their feet. The only real complaint we had was that we had to wait an hour for our evening meal on the first night and hour and three quarters for our evening meal the second night we were there which we found most unsatisfactory. We were not the only ones waiting some couples had children. We were advised we might have to wait but did not realise your kitchen was so understaffed.

Picturesque setting. Hotel has lots of character and is great for a short break. Nearby canal provides excellent opportunity for walks. Very friendly staff. We stayed in the Gifford (Bridal Suite) which we were upgraded to on arrival. A fabulous room with plenty of space to relax and unwind. Would thoroughly recommend.

This was a nice hotel to stay in, where the style and atmosphere was something you rarely come across. Walking distance to the city and what to see there. There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel.

Great place and location with the old building and many rooms being in the modern wing

Staff were pleasant and polite and helpful on arrival on a Saturday 28th September 2019 when I arrived quite late at about 8 pm - I had arranged an earlier breakfast for the Sunday morning (which is normally 0800 to 1000 on a Saturday/Sunday) and I needed to be somewhere by 8 am and I was able to have a light breakfast before leaving and a pot of tea - showed me where I could leave my bike overnight and gave directions on how to get to the Stroud cricket ground the next day

It is near to Stonehouse station if arriving by public transport

The place is clean and bathroom a decent size - I was in room 24 in the modern wing

They are being really proactive about the green/environmental size with a hessian bag on the table for cans, bottles, papers - makes it easier for the cleaners - also incentives if you are staying for more than one night if you do not wish to have the room cleaned

The grounds are great and it is near to the canal
