Lovely place to pop in for a coffee and meet friends. The atmosphere of the building takes you back to the past, with the knowledge of a modern service. Also a cup of the best coffee I've tasted in a while!

Saved from 2 stars by good dinner and Malbec. Not for people with disability problems narrow awkward stairs everywhere, poor room access. Must have had troop of nocturnal elephants in room above that started performing early! Breakfast poor, bacon old, poached eggs hard boiled. NO REAL ALE with all that great Cotswold beer available. Think Travelodge at Thornbury next time.!

Room was clean, although had a funny smell, and staff were very friendly. We stayed in the newer part of the building. There were lots of steps up and down to get to the room which was a little impractical. Food and drinks were wonderful, however very overpriced, and 10% surcharge added on automatically. Hotel is set in a beautiful location with beautiful grounds. Had a beautiful view of a tree when we opened the window.

Had a fantastic stay here. The food at the resturant was amazing and they have managed the social distancing very well. If you get the opportunity to stay in one of their suites, I cannot recommend the rooms highly enough. Stunning with so much space.

I went to Stonehouse court for afternoon tea with bubbly as part of my baby shower. the meet and greet lady was excellent. We had pre-booked one Gluten Free (which took half an hour longer to come out as I think they forgot). The bubbly was nowhere to be seen and the service was quite slow! We did have a lovely afternoon though.

We booked a "Sunday Stopover" package to celebrate our anniversary. This included an evening meal, bed and breakfast for a set price. Our room was massive and had a great bathroom with roll top bath. It was much plusher than expected. The food was superb and the surroundings of the historic manor very pleasant. The staff were excellent - efficient and courteous. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because bits of the decor and facilities had seen better days and should really have been replaced. For example the kettle in our room was badly dented which made it almost unusable. The other issue was that when we checked out the bill was incorrect - they tried to charge us for the dinner which should have been included. They rectified the mistake without argument but they recognised that we were on a package deal when we checked in so it should not have happened. We weren't the only departing guests with incorrect bills either. It felt a bit like they were just hoping we wouldn't notice which I didn't appreciate. That said, we had a great time and enjoyed the whole experience.

Oh my goodness. The whole experience was lovely. From the greeting from the young man on the front desk, to the room so clean and modern, the grounds are kept beautifully. The church situated close by is a dream. All safety measures and guidelines we're in place and felt really comfortable. My boyfriend even proposed, so it's made the place really special for us. We're absolutely going to return. Thank you so much.

Excellent hospitality and staff. Had a very good time here, liked the quirky tweed carpet!

Top marks to the staff who were excellent and gave us a delightful evening.

Lovely grounds around the hotel right next to a canal.

We have just suffered, or should that be endured, a Christmas lunch at this hell hole of a hotel. The food can be best described as microwave meals which were generally served cold, dried and devoid of any flavour. The staff were completely uncaring and the manageress totally out of depth. On the day of our visit (Christmas morning) there was not a single table that had not complained about the poor food and lack of service. I mean to say, one hour between each course............. Definitely a place to avoid at all costs.

* Lovely place, great staff, perfect wedding venue! *
We got married here in Nov 2017 with just a couple of months of planning, we had a few issues with the wedding planner initially being off sick, which was then covered by someone else who also went off sick, however, this was quickly rectified by the manager and we were reassured that everything would be in place for our big day. He was absolutley right and our day was perfect and very well organised we loved every minute of it, food was outstanding and just perfect, staff couldn't be more helpful and polite, Dominic and his team were brilliant and on hand for all of our needs. The Caroline Suite is perfect for a wedding to be able to seat family indoors when turning the main room around for the evening, giving a modern take on the old style venue in a picturesque setting. The bedroom was perfect too with enough room for a baby cot and to fit the bridal party on our wedding day. We were told that this was the more modern bridal suite of the two and had recently been revamped as there was another bride in the other suite, which suited my taste as I much preferred the more modern take on such a beautiful room overlooking the grounds.
We have since gone back several times and booked in for a meal in the court brasserie and are still glowing about this perfect little gem and how much they have got it so right. Thank you all for making our experience such an enjoyable one on every visit, look forward to returning again soon.

Room was great but relatively small. Very clean. The bathroom was very clean and had all modern amenities. The food at the restaurant and the breakfast were fantastic! The pizza chef is awesome.

The windows don't open fully; it was very hot and without air conditioning, I felt a bit suffocated.

Staff extremely nice also food reasonable . Our bedroom was extremely small. We didn't complain as we were only staying one night ,definitely couldn't stay any longer in there. Duvet cover had a big rip in it,extremely visable. I would have discarded the cover had it be mine. Bad quality pillows. One of bedside lights kept falling off the wall and was dangerous. A ceiling light didn't stop flickering .

Superb location and spotless room with all the facilities you could need

We stayed here in July and September this year and we re not disappointed at all.
The location is just fantastic with lovely walks in either direction along the canal bank and a superb spot for the picnics we had.
The grounds are well maintained and just add to the overall ambiance
On both occasions we had a room overlooking the canal which is very picturesque
The staff were knowledgeable, helpful and obviously take pride in this place.
Evening meals were reasonably priced as were the wines we chose.

COVID unfortunately played a part in the social distancing aspect but didn t prevent joining in with other guests and conversations
The weather was glorious and that played a part in our overall enjoyment
We did book again for November but England had its lockdown preventing our travel despite Wales coming out of its own lockdown so we ve postponed it until January - the reception staff played their part too in allowing a transfer - Hope the weather stays clement enough for a winter picnic
Highly recommended and as I ve said we will be back
Well done to all staff concerned

The rooms, the finish and the maintenance is of very low quality despite the wonderful outside grounds and appearance of the main house. The entire hotel is in need of a full renovation immediately. The rooms have little to no ability to dampen sound from hallways or adjacent rooms. Guest arriving after 11:00 PM are certain to be heard by all guests. On the plus side, the staff are wonderful, attentive and worked very hard to over-come the general facilities. Unfortunately, I will not return unless a renovation is completed.

I attended a wedding here on Valentine's day 2018 and if im honest the service was absolutely shocking! The bride spent most of the day chasing issues and problems up with the very rude manager as well as guests leaving because of the poor table service!
This should of been the best day of these 2 people's lives but instead they left exhausted and embarrassed ! Absolutely disgusting !

Location was good and easy to find. Staff are friendly although we had to ask several times for the same drink as they seemed to have forgotten. There is quite a lot of stairs throughout and the decor is in need of a bit of TLC. Generally would recommend though but the food was amazing.

We stayed for a wedding, and unfortunately the staff made things very difficult for the bride and groom.
There were several mix ups with the rooms, a number of guests including ourselves had issues with their reservations even though they had been booked months in advance.
There are no lifts so the elderly/disabled guests had a very difficult time getting around.
A waiter spilled and ENTIRE tray of champagne (8 glasses) over one of the guests during the dinner, minimum help was offered and this caused her and the brother of the bride to miss the speeches and we had to spend an hour trying to get the stain out. They were not offered any kind of gesture to make up for the incident.
The food is overpriced for the quality.
The breakfast service was also very slow.
Our room was overall fine, but the pillows were flat as a pancake and the towel warmer was extremely hot to the point that you could very easily get a bad burn,, and everybody else who I spoke to said their rooms had issues with the water pressure and temperature.
Overall the staff/hotel made the day far more stressful than it had to be and I would expect more from a wedding venue.

I cannot recommend this wedding venue highly enough for anyone wishing to have a truly memorable day. Marian and the team s hospitality and professionalism never cease to impress us.
Having chosen Stonehouse Court Hotel for our wedding venue in 2014 we couldn t have been happier with how dedicated and passionate all the team were towards making our day perfect! They really do go above and beyond to ensure that your day is as amazing and stress-free as you would hope.
All of our guests commented on the fantastic service they received, and also how stunning the venue was!
They recently renovated the Caroline suite to a really high spec, it s stunning and elegant and the facilities are excellent. We look forward to returning at least once a year to soak up the atmosphere; the staff are always so friendly and treat us very well each and every time.

Whilst comfortable and with friendly staff the hotel is dated and dingy inside. The guns available were very expensive, but there were a few board games available in the bar lounge area. I would stay here again, but can't quite warrant giving it 4 stars

Stayed for 2 nights in room 3... One of the best rooms I've ever stayed in.
Beautiful Grade 2 listed character with warm modern contemporary decor, facilities... definitely a wow factor. Can't recommend it enough and the wonderful staff, food, atmosphere.... Faultless.

It's more difficult to give negative reviews, trying to be objective and not sound spiteful.
We could have booked the Travelodge down the road, but this "looked better ", and only (approx) double the price. BOOK and COVER come to mind.
The one star is for the building and setting.
The second star, for the breakfast and staff at breakfast.
It is obviously a popular wedding venue.
On arrival, a joyous wedding party , filled the doorway, the lobby, in front of the reception table and the whole lounge, complete with children doing the metaphoric knee slides.
We joined the queue, to be told that , the previous wedding guests had left so late none of our rooms were ready. So the room we should have had at 2pm, wasn't available until 3.40. Some guests fumed, some stoic, some philosophical. I at this point, mildly annoyed. We were going to be late for our appointment. "Sorry, take a seat", was the receptionist's only comment.
It got irritatingly worse. It felt like the parents had left the children in charge.
Unfortunately they are not worth anymore of my time listing the things that were wrong.
You can't judge a book by it's cover.
