Nicely decorated and friendly staff. Only a bit to drink so can't say anything about the quality of the food.

Amsterdam and everything that this city understands is gloomy
We have waited one hour for our food, although there were not many guests...
Very nice, meal and welcome top.comcount a full dinner for around 100 for 2.
Good food, wonderful location, but the service could be better.
Very tasty sandwich with artisan bread. Great coffee. Stunning looking building, all dark wood and candles
We just had a coffee there, the hall is interesting of course, but in general it seemed like a tourist trap.
It's interesting building if you have someone to tell you about its history
Too touristy place, we waited a long time to order and the staff tired and not attentive to customers, we had to ask to free our table from the voids of previous customers. The waiters wouldn't take them off.
Very good food and friendly service. But you can wait 15 minutes for the bill, isn't this possible? Otherwise it certainly would have earned 3 stars!
ATTENTION: portion of fries / salad is EXTRA charged. With an already reasonably expensive dish.
A beautiful old location with great food in the center of old Amsterdam. Not cheap, but very atmospheric.
The restaurant is very nicely located and has a great selection of dishes in addition to the typical drinks. We didn't eat anything, but what we saw was very appealing. The prices are a bit higher, but more acceptable.
All in all it was very disappointing
The operation is really difficult and inattentive ..
Steaks are served on plates where you can smell that a fish has been served on them, in my opinion that shouldn't be.
The food was also a pure catastrophe, that meat tasted both in the burger and in the steaks 1) It didn't taste like anything, so it didn't taste enough
And 2) you had the feeling that meat was not really high quality and fresh
The 2 stars are for the ambience, which is really very cozy.
Unfortunately, very disappointed
The restaurant was originally a castle originally built in 1488, so talk about sitting down to eat in a historical building! Real lit candles line the walls, placed on tables and in the wooden chandeliers, so it really creates sets a mood inside the restaurant.
The menu is available in Dutch and English, and lunch consists of a selection of sandwiches, wraps, warm dishes, soups and salads. For the large part my family were happy with their orders, (the club sandwich, tuna sandwich, and the hummus salad), although the square portion of seasonal whitefish given for 21 Euros was on the small side.
Service was friendly and meals were good, unpretentious and obviously freshly prepared.
Nice location but terrible service, frustrated employee...
Had a stake sandwiched the meat was cooked beautiful and the seasoning was on par sauce loved can't wait to go back.
Historical place, beautiful location in the old city gate of Amsterdam. Coffee and cakes not very special, but just fine.
We ordered ginger tea and chai latte. My chai latte doesn t have any taste of spices... and ginger tea was hot water with 3 pieces of ginger, so the price is 3.30 for hot water. Because it doesn t have any taste of ginger.
So if you go, don t take chai latte or ginger tea!!
My food, the salmon dish, was only lukewarm, the steak of the others was not medium, but English. Visually, the dishes were delicious, I didn't find it so cozy there. It was also a bit loud in the hall. So I wouldn't eat there a second time.
Recommended steak tartare. You should go without haste
Super tasty, very friendly service and great atmosphere
It was not bad but not great either. It's a really nice place in a great location, but it's usually quite busy and a bit of a wait. The food was OK.
Spectacular. A building with a lot of history very well preserved and transformed into a cafeteria.
Historic cafe on a good location and the prices know it.
Overrated. Expensive tasteless food. Nice location. Get a proper chef and it'll change direction.
A historical site without a doubt, between the Chinese and the red light district. Prices maybe somewhat expensive generally.
Historic place. Market place next door. Ideal for a small meal and drinks. Staff could be a little more attentive.
Cold outside. And that also relates to the served food. They were lukewarm. Furthermore, a special location.
we wanted to go over first, but then decided to have lunch here. The food was very good!!! ideal for a snack at lunchtime! the staff were very friendly and the ambientecdes restaurant is unbeatable and an experience !!
Good place to have a tapa or a beer ... relaxing ..
Very atmospheric and beautiful. Wheelchair friendly too
A bit pricey, but totally worth it. Very good food, great service
A beautiful place to have a drink on your terrace. The building where it is located is very beautiful. A street market is held right in front of the week.
Good atmosphere and rich food. Royal eggs spectacular!
Good steak on asparagus, friendly staff, historic and nicely done venue
Nice in the center where not too many tourists are (who stick to the walls. Nice food and good terrace, but often completely full ...
The Weag is important to me because I was born there
You get a ministroopwafle with the hot chocolate. Bitterballen were tasty.
Beautifull historic building, good for a drink, food is just ok.
Nice historic place, ok food and good service. However, feels a bit touristic.
Do yourself a favour and walk away...
overpriced and EXTREMELY rude
Very slow staff, not client friendly for people that just want a drink. However, vthe French coffee that we finally got was very good!
Beautiful place to visit if you pass through Amsterdam
Nice place and good food, but small quantities. Perhaps because we came to eat with a very large group. The empty glasses and bottles of wine on the table were not replaced, unfortunately.
Had a nice lunch, but had to wait a long time for the food. Happy friendly service.
Vegetarian pea soup had been ordered in advance for a group of people, but not possible on arrival. Became watery mushroom soup. First waitress was unusually rude, later came a friendly waiter who made up for a lot.
Very cool building and interior. The place has a very nice atmosphere, it feels like the perfect place to drink although I went there for breakfast which was excellent.
Both the pancakes and egg benedict were made properly so nothing bad to say. The staff are very accommodating and friendly.
Would highly recommend you check it out once it gets a bit darker so that all the candles and unique lighting stands out more. I'd probably suggest you go there for a drink given the general vibe and type of customers I saw there.
Good meat and fish food in a characteristic restaurant
