Everything was really nice again. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, I would particularly like to highlight Mr. Abanouda Elia. Although my daughter did not live in the hotel, she was allowed to dine with us without much ado. We certainly were not the last time with you.

I only used the hotel for a dive trip. From my experience the staff were amazing.
The resort itself looked outstanding. I would definitely concider taking my familly there on holiday.
There is an excellent amount of activities and the beach h is immaculate.
Egypt is a great holiday destination, at no time did I feel unsafe.

This is the best vacation place ever. Everything is more than perfect.
The place is extremely clean, specially in the corona virus time, the place is safe and very clean, staff are very professional and friendly, they always have a smile on the face, they are very welcoming and helpful especially Mr.Daoud was very helpful and always asking for feedback and your satisfaction. All the managers and the supervisors are always checking and making sure everything is alright. I had an amazing stay, very fantasy place amazing pool ,pool bar and beach restaurant . Rooms are clean and food is amazing. Thank you for this amazing time and service, always recommend this place to my friends.
My family decided that we will never go anywhere else.

This is probably the best place in hurghada, the service is really good and place is beautiful. However, in winter they only have one outdoor heated pool which is the kids pool and the food is really bad.

Had a pleasant one week stay with my family of four along with 5 other families. The good: The grounds are beautiful, the facilities excellent, with lots of great activities available for all ages. Towels are clean, food selection and quality is excellent. Staff are friendly and hospitable, especially if tipped (as is the case everywhere in Egypt, I guess). Some go above and beyond with service and smiles, like Mina from housekeeping- regularly checking if we re okay.
May be improved: Could benefit from some more attention to details and that extra level of service we have come to expect from 5-star hotels worldwide. For example, guests should not have to remind staff to replenish conditioner and toilet paper, daily. Accommodations need to be updated for sure: regular plumbing issues, showers that don t drain, shower doors that don t close, and the smell of sewage around the room are some of the issues experienced by my group. This really put a damper on what was supposed to be a luxury experience. Also important that reception staff are better trained to handle staff complaints without showing frustration. I witnessed several negative interactions not just with our group but with many others, almost every time I passed the lobby reception. It should be all smiles and your wish is my command talk at the reception. Unfortunately it was a lot of eye rolling and talk about policie and procedures.
Overall, I can see why it has a good reputation and many have had good experiences, but those extra things would make the difference for travellers accustomed to 5-star facilities and service. Can learn a lot from Four Seasons, for example.

I and my mother stayed at the hotel for a week. One of the best resorts I have ever visited. Had a great time with my mother. The food was great with so many varieties. Very friendly staffs. A very enjoyable time on the fine beach. There are sports activities that are so much fun! Awesome snorkeling experiences with an very experienced Divemaster. So happy with everything. Highly recommended.

Normal hotel. The rooms are nice, spacious. Service on 3 + ... for Egypt will come down. For children, a good coastline ... and not a deep sea. Separately, I liked the children's pool with salt and hot water. Children from there with difficulty pulling out. The food is normal. In general, everything seems to be normal for Egypt, but if you have something to compare with ... then you understand that there are questions. Travel and gain impressions.

I didn't get a chance to stay here, it was a little more expensive than the Aqua Magic, the hotel I stayed in. Having a common beach with Aqua Magic I could see the outside and I was impressed! Everything is superlative! They also have a car that takes you from the hotel gate to the beach! It's absolutely gorgeous!

My stay @ this resort was just Astonishing! Starting from the cleanness, friendly staff, professionalism, great and active atmosphere ending to one of the best experiences I've ever experienced. One of the most important things to me that is going to make me go again is the All-inclusive program. The location, sea view, activities all are awesome! I highly recommend it! Oh! I forgot to tell you about the Lazy River, Aqua park just amazing.

Nice hotel close to the beach, I think it doesn't have 5 stars as it is getting a bit old, and the decor is no longer the newest.
I was also confused by the photos from the second Steigenberger Hotel, which is in the immediate vicinity but not connected to the hotel. So there are no water slides, among other things. Very very nice staff. We had the opportunity to change our room after the toilet kept dripping and the noise bothered us.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for a total of 11 nights and we loved it. Therefore I would like to give a slightly longer review. So that not everyone has to read so much right from the start mine

CONCLUSION: The hotel, the associated complex and the beach were very well-kept and clean. The staff and the associated service was impeccable! The food was the best we've had in Egypt so far. There were of course a few little things here and there that could be improved (I'll explain in the further text), but they are everywhere. We would definitely like to come back!

------> Now to the actual evaluation <-----

Briefly about myself. I am 24 years old, a trained chef and live in Bavaria. My companion (23) and I were already in Egypt for the 4th time and thus have a comparison to some other hotels. We stayed at the Steigenberger Al Dau Beach from August 19-29, 2018.

THE ROOM: We booked a double room with a sea view. The rooms are pleasantly large and bright with the curtains open. The furnishings consist of a double bed, desk, two comfortable armchairs with a small table, mini bar, flat screen TV, a relatively small safe, a bathroom (with shower, bathtub, toilet, large sink and mirror, body scales), enough storage space for lots of clothes, adjustable air conditioning, lots of lamps and lights, balcony with a small table and two chairs and the aforementioned view over the large complex and the sea. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Everything was clean and looked neat. Only two little things bothered us. On the one hand, the German TV program (5 channels) was actually consistently disturbed, that is, either the picture stood still or the picture and sound did not match at all. On the other hand, the bathroom only had a lockable frosted glass door with see-through ornaments, which quite restricted privacy.

THE ALL INCLUSIVE OFFER & SERVICE: On the menu and drinks menu it is always stated what is inclusive and what is not, this is taken into account so you don t pay for the stay at the end! Even the minibar is included and stocked with beer, water and soft drinks and is refilled daily. This also includes drinks from the pool bar and the drinks service at the pool and beach. The staff is always very attentive and polite. Towels are laid out, air mattresses are inflated, glasses are cleaned, drinks are brought, etc .. The only drawbacks were the somewhat annoying people who tried to talk about an excursion or a visit to the spa, especially at the beginning extremely.

I recommend the hotel especially to couples or single travelers without children!

We have been to this hotel about 10 times and would love to come back. The park with the large pool is unique and very well maintained. You can ride on tires on the river thanks to the counter-current system.
The staff is extremely friendly on the beach, as well as with the food. The food is wonderful for Egypt, we have been to other hotels in the past. The rooms are not the newest, but they are diligently renovated, the rooms are large and well-kept.

Nice hotel is on but what about customer service ....

Nice hotel is on but what about customer service ... I forgot a watch at the hotel and I'm still waiting for my package since March !! I was charged more than 80 for this shipment and since we barely respond to my emails ... and I am offered to come back for me even the watch on the occasion of a new stay! A hotel that works only with rich Germans or Russians ... in short I strongly recommend!

Well-trained staff, nenadoedlivy service, good food, a huge area with themed restaurants, but just like the Lebanese. Nice clean sandy beach with sun beds. In winter only one small warm pool, great everything with cold water. Alcoholic drinks and fresh juices for the money, all of the local production is included in the price. Territory allows you to not leave the hotel all rest days - populated, and as an icebreaker, on the whole autonomous.

Conclusion: good 4 (!) - star hotel - we paid for a 5 star hotel and that's why we came back a little sobered.

First the positive points:

- The buffet is very extensive and vegans can easily be satisfied
- The pool area is very beautiful and the "river" invites you to leisurely laps
- Beautiful, spacious gardens
- Comfortable beds
- For a change, you can visit restaurants that are not supplied by the same kitchen (sushi, noodles, teriyaki, ...).

What I didn't like so much:

- The bedroom / bathroom is getting on in years (almost 4-star level; we have already stayed in a few 4-star hotels and this belongs to the lower category from the room point of view)
- The staff are helpful, but often you can't help but get the impression that it's all about a generous tip. (A few examples below)
- The providers of offers are on the move. (See below)
- The range of alcoholic beverages is on par with booze - in short, apart from (standard) beer there are few drinkable alcoholic beverages ... and now I don't have to have beer every day. In short: The all-inclusive drink offer may be tempting for undemanding guests. For us it was a turn-off ... 5 stars? More like 2-3 stars worthy!
- Zimmerverarsche - we saw about 3 discussions at the front desk in which people had booked a room with a sea view and insisted on it. On the way back to the airport, we realized that we had booked a sea view. We got a completely different room without a sea view. 5 stars worthy? If I feel ripped off by the hotel, then probably not - I paid a surcharge and didn't receive it.
- The beach and especially the sea bathing area is very manageable.

Here are a few more comments on points that, in my opinion, do not fit the class of a 5-star hotel:

- Employees: It may be that many guests like the jovial way of dealing with things and sometimes also brute "pick-up lines". I find it inappropriate and it annoys me when an employee with a quick-witted mentality tries to make good friends. Then the processions of the employees to their farewell guests in order to get their reward for the fun. Personally, I don't find it particularly "classy" - no, it rather disgusts me and I feel uncomfortable because of this sticky covering by the employees.
When we were in one of the bookable restaurants outside, I wanted to go to the toilet. I went into the building where the toilet was and asked a member of staff exactly where the toilet was ... instead of pointing diagonally across, he started the tipping machine: he took me to the toilet, held the door for me, turns off the water, handed me drying towels and when I made no move to tip over, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a few coins and asked: "Cash?" I would have liked to have reached in and taken the coins for the uncomfortable closeness that he brought me - but that was probably not what he meant.

- Pusher mentality: The daily crowd of offer sellers (diving, spa, yoga, tours, ...) is annoying. If I want that, then I know where the stands are!
After my wife was annoyed for the umpteenth time about these pushy salespeople, but also after she said for the 5th time that she doesn't want to drink - and then had to justify her 5th nasty no to the employee (!) - scolded if you don't want that, why don't you hang up a red sack. Kind! So we learned on the 2nd last day that you can defend yourself against such harassment ... why is that not standard and everyone who wants to be harassed all the time just hangs up such a sack? Sorry ... not classy.
As we observed during a leisurely river run: Apparently wellness and cosmetic prices are negotiable - no, we don't feel ripped off at all.
