We as a family NEVER felt like DCF ever helped us in any way. They were short staffed leaving only a certain amount of counselors at the Newport Office. I had to share my social worker with my babies father. I will use the workers initial's PM. She clearly favored my ex. He was meek and never questioned anything or asked questions. Me on the other hand challenged certain decision's leading to more animosity towards me. Any concerns that I had were expressed to the head officer, PR. were left unrecognized! There wasn't anyone in that office that would even listen. PM finally got caught breaking confidentiality and soon after left that office. If a social worker likes you, than things should go in your favor. BUT, if you challenge any decision or ask to many questions you can forget about having anything go smooth for your side. It really was the most unprofessional experience. The social worker PM wrote her notes, exaggerated situations and down right made up things in her report with out any evidence to back her words up. But it was up to me to provide evidence to prove she wasn't truthful. If you can stay out of the system, do so. This happened in the Newport VT office. NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE!!
