I believe Dr. Solymanijam has his patients' best interests at heart. However, in my experience, his staff person, Jackie is not a customer service oriented or empathetic person at all. I got the sense she's tired of dealing with people. In a recent phone conversation where she called me to establish a follow up appointment, the date she proposed was well beyond the end of my 6 week drug prescription treatment. When I tried to explain to her that I thought the Dr. had previously said, "we'll see you at the end of your prescription treatment", i.e., 6 weeks, she immediately went into a defensive, robotic mode wherein she kept repeating (at least 8-10 times) "the doctor said 8 weeks" as if I didn't hear her the first 8 times. Worse, she was actually using the repetition as a strategy to interrupt me and cut me off to purposefully keep me from explaining my concern and not allow me to get in a word. She just didn't want to hear it. Two weeks may not seem like a big difference but I'm on medication for which you are not supposed to abruptly stop but rather taper off slowly to minimize possibility of organ damage. Finally, I told her I wanted to speak to the Dr. directly since she wasn't allowing me to relay my concern so that she could explain to the doctor. Finally, she agreed to have him reach out to me directly and abruptly hung up. What a nightmare. As if the uncertainty of my condition isn't enough, I have the stress of dealing with someone who appears jaded to the interpersonal nature of her job, i.e, providing supportive patient care and high quality customer service. Based on this experience, she's not a good fit for this aspect of her job and is damaging the reputation of the office.
