I was locked out of my account. I was assisted by a young lady named Sparkle. Very appropriate name. Her customer service was diamond-level! She worked and worked to resolve my situation, helped me change my personal information which hadn't been updated in years, and gave me clear, easy instructions on how to manage my tax deductions for my account. She was unable to resolve the issue that prevented me from accessing my account. However, she immediately sent an email to their IT department to assist in resolution. Sparkle advised me that someone from TRS or the TRS IT department would contact me within forty-eight hours (they are incredibly swamped on Mondays through Wednesdays). I read so many terrible reviews of the TRS here in Georgia. They evidently didn't have a stellar Customer Service Representative like Sparkle. TRS should be PROUD to have staff like her. She made my day!

Was just told, "You have to understand" when discussing why we can't get my wife's retirement check properly sent to another financial institution (why are we still mailing checks in 2020?). So thousands of dollars of our retirement are missing and it's my fault for not understanding? Also, when we keep sending correspondence/calling, why has nobody called to let us know that you no longer have our finances? We're following YOUR process! Horrible customer service...can't believe this institution is still used by USG.

My experience was not a good one. The agent that I met with was not that informative. I felt as if I wasted my time today. She didn't speak when she came to meet with me. It seems as if I was bothering her. Her attitude was nasty. She was very dry and not very helpful.

Most of the customer service agents I have worked here have had terrible attitudes. They are rude, arrogant, and nasty. I would like for someone to contact me about this. If you don't want my money then let me know and I will move it somewhere else where people are actually civil and knowledgeable.

Their whole system process/follow-up is archaic. Having to rely on one employee who may, or who may not be available (in meeting, out of office, etc.) is unacceptable in 2021 for such an important service. And on one of my calls, the rep sounded like she was just getting out of bed. NOTE: They're in NO HURRY to distribute your funds. Minimum 6 weeks by MAIL ONLY.

I have had the unpleasant experience of dealing with these people way too many times. They seem so unwilling to help me with my money, my future, my retirement! Such an important thing should not be left up to such a rude staff. I have spoken to three or four different staff members and they are all so rude. They must hate their jobs. Albeit subtle, I have been belittled and cut off numerous times.

They will not mail you a check to rollover into your new retirement company, like any modern retirement system would. They will only send it directly to the new company, and fight when you ask them to send it WITH a form, since that is a requirement for mailed checks.

Behind the times and managed by rude people. Meanwhile my entire retirement is sitting somewhere without accruing interest. I have missed out on 14% since this process started, rude people have costed me thousands of dollars of potential gains.

I retired two years ago and prior to that I attended several meetings with reps to ensure that everything was in order. I ve had nothing but fast, efficient, and excellent service with GA TRS! Surprised at so many negative reviews.
