To a quiet and cozy is a good place to calmly concentrate on something. It's perfect for quick charging.

Staff like to bully every patron who is doing the 'right thing'
It is a great place to study or do some computer work if you can filter out the noise around you. It's not quiet, but there is considerable work space and a lot of outlets where you can keep your computer charged, with a view of the city. I was there on a Saturday morning and it did get pretty crowded.
Librarians are very helpful, variety of resources, ability to book rooms for meetings, different areas available where you can sit and read.
Sensational resource, I have done enormous amounts of research here & the staff NEVER tire of my requests, particularly Mary, you are a treasure !
The building looks good~ the classification is clear~
Clear and good to go~
This is one of the best libraries I have been too. Plenty of study space, computers to use and the view is great too.. I really like that they have different groups and areas of the library The business Studio is a good hangout as well as the Edge which is a studnet hangout. Good vibes all round. 10/10 would recommend
Amazing place with modern facilities and wide range of books and computers to access in a very convenient location right beside public transport.
Amazing library, lots of good places to study and fast wifi!
Unlimited wi-fi, a place to use power and internet, either use your electronic devices or use their modern computers to go online, very peaceful and relaxing area to not only charge your devices but to recharge your body energy as well.
I really like the lecture program offered by the library where you have chances to listen and talk to the thought leaders of the world. Attached is a few photos taken on British mathematician Sir Timothy Gower' speech on open access to scholarly publication.
For the events they host, the peace and quiet once you step into the Library and of course, I'd be lying if the free wi-fi didn't sweeten the deal. In all honesty, though, where else could you spend a day (or a few hours) working with a river front view? Not many places.Spread over five levels, the State Library has plenty of different spaces depending on what kind of mood you're in.
Perfect place for everybody who want to get a rest and study as well.
Interesting architecture. Good place to go to to study. And its free!!
I wanted to find a place with a chair and desk to do some reading and I got those with a view on the first floor. I wasn't sure if tourists were allowed at first but yes, you can just walk right in. Only bummer was that there was some music nearby. The area was probably not a quiet zone. Thankful to be able to use this place for an hour or two. Free WiFi too!
Excellent resources on site and online, friendly helpful staff, informative events and best free wifi access
Clean, quiet, spacious, and helpful staff. I liked the online system where you can book your study desk upfront. This is one of the best libraries I've ever used :).
Used computer for free (40 mins)
lots power point and free Wi-Fi
closed to public transport
Museum and art galleries nearby
Excellent place to work, a nice variety of seating-desk areas.
Great quiet place for your online needs with free wifi provided, lots of seats and sofas eaven for a power nap.
There is a childrens play area, and books are up stairs.
Best place in Brisbane city. Free use wifi, confy sofa, cool air conditioner This place can offer you everything you need.
Is there anything else I need more? no. This is the best environment for killing time.
Great for long study sessions or just hanging out. Massive amount of resources available and they often have interesting collections to see.
In study area 2nd 3rd floor there are people whispering everyday( I guess uni student) also around 3pm high school students comes and get bit noisier I think stuff should check but the building is nice and cool in summer, clean, nice river view, have coffee shop in the ground floor.
fantastic modern library with great facilities and some awesome spaces to read or work. some of the spots with views over the river/city and the garden areas were amazing
Amazing building. My meeting there was a total fail, but the facility is amazing!
State Library Of Queensland is a great hub for Activites for all ages. A really great resource library and you can get free wifi for computer s and mobile telephone s and tablets. The staff are super friendly and will help you with stuff your chasing. The building is very beautiful as well.
A perfect public space. Bright, clean, safe, and easily accessible. I have always found the staff really friendly. I didn't actually realise, but you don't need any access card to go to the upper levels. All FREE!
I love this library, very modern and conducive place to do your studies and homework...really really great place to be to spend your spare time~~
There are so many different styles of study spaces, you're bound to find one that you're most productive in! There are group tables, individual enclosed cubicles, couches, firm chairs, everything! Plus the views of the river are so soothing! The wifi does get slow sometimes but unless you're gaming, it shouldn't be an issue.
The best library in Brisbane !!! Heaps space for anyone who wants to study!! PowerPoints available!! And wifi available!!!! It connects automatically and it is fast and unlimited!!Better the the Brisbane council wifi!!! My favorite library!
Very useful community resource: the public computers, free open wifi, power sockets, great spaces to work and study.
A great space in Brisbane to study or just enjoy some quiet time by yourself.
Firstly, the building itself is an architectural marvel and there is so much beauty in the high ceilings, the study nooks, the red box, the furniture, the exposed walls, the Terrace Room etc.
Secondly, it's a great place to study, really easy to get to and has a nice little cafe downstairs if you get peckish. Well-lit with many accessible powerpoints. Only downside is that every man and his dog also knows it's a great place to study so the place is usually packed.
I also really like the children's area which is exquisitely decorated to suit different themes every few months and the gift shop (quality stationery items, here). The exhibits in the library itself are always worth a peek as a study break, and there is this shelf at the back left of the library on Level 2 that is devoted to vintage children's books, which is always a treat.
Great views of the river. Nice place to catch up on work
If you looking for a place with great wifi connection, comfortable seating and quiet environment for reading or writing. This is the place for you! Walking distance from cultural center and surrounded with galleries! It is always a productive day for me when I visit SLQ :D
Okay but the WiFi is too slow. Lots of Indigenous youth were yelling and swearing. One homeless man in a kilt was walking around.
Best place in the town. Meeting rooms, kids crafting area, cafe, drinking water and most importantly the peace makes this place best.
Would recommend the 2nd or 3rd floors when using the computers. You can remain logged on for 3 hours and are considerably quieter than the ground floor.
It didn't impress me from the outside (a plain, sand coloured, squared complex) but inside it revealed all its beauty. Interesting modern architecture with lots of seats with a view on the river, or around the vegetation. It is a very bright, inspiring, innovative place. There are also a piano room and meeting rooms to book.
I found the state library here is "average" and can be big with those in others. Cities can not keep up. Unfortunately!
Good place I hang out there for a good few hrs reading
Interactive screens as a floor and as arcade like, we did piano lesson on it. Staff extremely nice and it helped to get things back left on bus from city council who share same level as children's library
I am a Japanese student.
You can borrow wifi, PC, outlet, study space etc for free!
There is also a cafe on the first floor!
Great and beautiful. One of the best libraries I've ever seen.
Peaceful and relaxing. The place with a lot of natural lighting, it is good place to read
Great range of flexible spaces for working in. Interesting collections and very helpful staff. The WiFi is free and unlimited and performs well in the morning and middle of the day but by mid to late afternoon when school kids fill the place up the speeds can drop fairly low. Cafe on site has a good menu if a little ovepriced.
Fascinating Place, Unexpectedly awe-inspiring! Definitely somewhere to see for locals and history orientated tourists alike!
Best library ever. Just the wifi not very fast... (when busy, but it's always busy)
There are good facilities including free wifi, outlets and also great view of Brisbane river.
Thank god for this place as a backpacker we need free internet and computers to use. this place is open every day so if you need a computer come here.
Perfect place for intensive study, relaxed reading, just chilling out or play space for kids (The Corner).
Who had the genius idea to have a baby play area in a library, a place where people go for quiet and to study/work?
Decent WiFi, and a great corner for the kids to play in. Looks like a fabulous resource for Queenslanders.
A great asset to Brisbane. Especially love the gallery room. At the moment there is display of concert posters from the 70's and 80's, which is really interesting.
Amazing place to read or study. Being a very clean and quiet place, it's a great, productive environment.
Lots of spaces, lots of computers desks, lots of musical piano score sheets
Great place to study, fabulous facilities and view.
With as much security as an airport and illogical opening hours the best thing about this place is the view from the library.
Amazing place to work in,study in,read in,research in!! Great personnel and recources!
One of my fav places in Bri
Just a fantastic library that accommodates the needs of a very wide variety of people. The Edge, which is its offshoot next door combine to make library facilities as approachable as possible.
I've never visited such library having diverse charms. Reading in the beautiful place is one of the great moment l love.
Had a spare afternoon in Bris and was walking past and decided to have a look. Was very glad I did, amazing views, great facilities and very helpful staff. Even if dont live anywhere near Brisbane they will send books to your local library for collection and you can drop them back to your local library all free of charge to join library and for them to deliver to wherever you are in the state. Great to relax in the very cosy corners or study at the countless desks and nooks. Whether your doing academic research, just browsing, studying or just relaxing this place is great. Not just a huge selection of books but also online resources along with many journal subscriptions which is great if you no longer have access to your old universities databases anymore. All completely Free.... Well done Queensland
Good range of books and I loved the view of the river. People are respectful and quiet if you want to read or get some studying done.
One of the best place to visit for Southbank Area.
very Good maintenance, helpful staff and Good reference book. Love to visit whenever possible.
Beautiful huge library. There are lots useful books for students and good location . It's easy to get there. Just for relaxing would be good too.
New and modern facility
I visited this place often while working in Brisbane and was very impressed with the quality of this Library. It's well taken care of, air conditioned, plenty of helpful staff, plenty of books, lovely architecture, free wifi and free computer access which allowed me to communicate with loved ones overseas. There's a children's area in the lower level with various quiet zones at upper floors. The surrounding areas outside of the library are also quite nice and there are plenty of spots for you to relax with with your books or laptop using the free wifi. This place is definitely a popular spot for students and there were very few days where I didn't see it fairly full and busy. Great spot!
Grand floor is not a nice place to visit. It seems many people are here to lay down to sleep. The atmosphere is like a YHA.
Very good library for single study, rooms can get booked very quickly and can be very crowded during peak hours. Air con smells nice
