My daughter has been attending Starr Studios for the past three years, starting when she was two. The instructors have really worked to nurture all the students, creating a truly welcoming and inclusive community for the dancers and their families. My daughter has gained so much confidence through her experience with Starr Studios, and it's also given her a chance to practice life skills like listening and team work. The recitals have also been a highlight for ger that she talks about all year. In her own words, going out on the stage for the first time, she realized how wonderful life was! Thank you, Starr Studios for giving my daughter this experience in her life.
My kids love it there and they love the teachers too!!
My girls have been dancing here for almost 4 years now and they love all of their classes, ballet, pointe, modical, jazz, tap and musical theater. We love the teachers as well, my girls favorite is the director of the studio (Serenity). The recitals are always fun and well organized. Also I appreciate the teaching approach here which is very positive and they do not subject kids to inappropriate music, lyrics or costumes so they can stay kids. We have gone to three different studios and my girls feel the most home here and they have also progressed the most at this studio.
My child started with the hip-hop program at Starr Studios. She started with a tester to just for fun, as she has never tried dance before. The instructor was very open, fun, and kept her engaged, even though she was new to the class and some kids were regulars. It was an upbeat positive environment, had approriate music, and the kids looked and sounded like they were having a great time. My daughter was excited to go back the following week, and we have been happy ever since!
I usually don't write reviews, but I needed to share our experience for those people looking for a new place for toddlers. I was looking for something new for my daughter. Before we made the year long commitment I signed up for a month trial. I am so glad I did it this way. The first day we came to class my daughter was so excited. The instructor Ms. Serenity was so rude when she came out to get her, didn't say hi and didn't even introduce herself to my daughter. She just asked me who she was and took her in. They didn't tell me what shoes to put on her jazz or tap. It was an assumption that I knew. I made a mistake and then was frown at. The kids came out halfway through the class and I had no idea why. The instructor again didn't say anything, she stayed in the room. A parent instead informed me that I needed to switch the shoes. The following week we had to drag my daughter to class because she said the teacher was mean. My husband took her and he was greeted coldly. She asked who he was and said he was my daughters father. The instructors response, "oh yeah, she's just on a trail." Then she left. We didn't even finish our month because we were so disgusted with this place. Horrible service.
My daughter has been taking dance classes at Starr Studios since she was two years old; she is now almost four years old. Since then, she has been enrolled in a couple of different classes (ballet and jazz/tap), has attended a couple of recitals, and a summer dance camp. My daughter expresses joy and excitement every time she attends her classes and has so much fun participating in the activities coordinated for the young ones. As a parent, I am impressed with the level of skill, patience and warmth that her teacher Serenity brings to her classes. The level of communication between staff and parents is also worth recognizing. I have found Serenity and her staff friendly, accessible, approachable, and helpful. When it comes to answering questions or resolving issues, they are prompt and they do not hesitate to go above and beyond to satisfy the dancers and/or the parents. My experience as well as my child s experience at Starr Studios has been by far a great and positive one.
These people lie they steal your kids stuff they arent watching out for the kids and at the recitals the kids are crying and done they shouldnt push them to do three days in a row kids are done after the first day that isnt right
Starr Studios is a wonderful dance studio! The staff are dedicated to coaching and encouraging children to explore dance. For them, it is not about perfection... It is about fun and doing your best. They are patient and inclusive of all dancers at all ability levels. It is their unwavering enthusiasm that makes me so happy to bring my daughter (and soon my toddler son) to Starr Studios each week. I highly recommend Starr Studios to anyone considering a dance studio for their little ones!
My daughter has been a student over two years now. She loves coming each week. They have rolled with the changes due to the pandemic to ensure classes went on one way or the other. Over Zoom and later in person following safety guidelines. Ms Serenity and other teachers are so patient and dedicated. We will continue as long as my daughter wants to keep coming!
The staff is kind, positive and age appropriate. They organize events well, and engage parents in the process.
Arya has so much fun, and loves miss Serenity and miss Allie. Everyone is very friendly and Ashley at the front desk is awesome.
Starr Studios is my home. I have been here since the begging, and I will be here till the end. Serenity- owner and my current dance teacher is honestly one of the most generous people I have ever met. She has never let anything- skill, money, or availability get in the way of any person wanting to dance. She teaches not only how to be better dancer, but a better human being over all. She has also given me the opportunity of a life time by giving me an internship. I have the opportunity to work with all of the the amazing staff, and learning how to better my skills in the dance and business world. I don't believe there is a better place in the world to learn and be taught. I couldn't find a better group of people to work under. Starr Studios isn't just a dance studio; it s a home away from home, a family. There isn't a single place in the world I would rather spend my time. It is worth every second you spend there.
My daughters had hwr name is her ballet shoes and someone stolen her shoes and replaced them with theres that where too small at a recital because it was not organized and not planned very well. The people who run the studio on put on the recitals care more about making money then teaching the kids and the dances. Serenity the owner and ashley who works in the front basically told me oh well we dont care that her shoes where stolen. I pulled my daughter out and put her in a better dance studio. I also have other parents who are going to pull their daughter out of starr studio because of the same things . I would not go here you will just be waating yohr money and time on people who only care about money and not teaching the kids ballet My daughters shoes where not swapped by accident her name was in her shoes. No one takes someones shoes with there name in them on accident. It took you guys three weeks to swapp out the pare of shoes that were left in the place on my daughter s shoes the recital was not organized and run the right way the volunteers should of been more on top of things. It happened the night we couldnt volunteered, when you can volunteer you shouldnt have to worry about your childs stuff getting stolen. As for the phone calls there was no threats made to you giys and no violence towards you guys. If things where ran better at this place we wouldnt havechad an issue. I hope that no one else has to go through what we went through. And it says a lot when most of the students didnt not return to your studio after the holidays. I do not appreciate being told that we threaten to hurt you guys when we did not.
My granddaughter, Karley, has been enrolled at Starr Studios almost 2 years and she absolutely loves it. She has grown so much, made new friends & has come such a long way since her first class. She loves her instructors & the one-on-one attention available when needed. She loves the recitals & has so much fun in class. This has been such a great experience for us both!
My 13 year old daughter started with the studio in October. She came from another studio and was very nervous , but the entire staff at Starr Studios made my daughter feel welcome and right at home. My daughter takes Musical Theatre, Modical, Ballette, Hip Hip and is part of Junior dance company. Her first recital experience was amazing, she can t wait until the Spring recital. Starr Studios is always available to answer questions or concerns , they are kind, compassionate and caring. I highly recommend Starr Studios.
Friendly, encouraging staff. My daughters have learned so much from their classes and have improved in dance skills as well as confidence! The studio really makes you feel welcome and has a family feel to it. I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone!
BEWARE MOMS AND DADS OF STARR DANCE STUDIO!! (LONG VENT) I hate doing this over social media or making it public its a small business and I want to support small businesses and owners but when they are being dishonest then I would rather others know about it then to get put in the same situation as me. Lauren started attending a Tuesday 10am Class $40.00 per month for a 30 minute class each month with a $40.00 annual registration fee. First month (October) it was off to a rough start when it came to their bookkeeping I was told it would cost $29.00 for the first month for a trial because they did not offer one free trial class they suggested a month to see how she would warm up to it. Well on her first day they told us the wrong time so we arrived what we thought would be 15 minutes early but it was late. The teacher had no idea how much to charge etc. and i was confused so I just paid the registration fee anyways knowing we would be staying and 30.00 she charged so I assumed she was just off 1.00 no big deal. We learned on the first class in November she will be able to do a recital of course we had to pay for her costume, tights, and for her to be in the recital and three tickets for Justin, me , and Kyler. a Total cost of $56.00 She attended the month of November and one class in the month of December and performed two nights in the recital. there was no class the week of Christmas which is totally understandable. Then we get a call Monday night the day before class was suppose to start up again stating they had got rid of the class all together. Anna the lady who called stated they will make it right and i will be refunded the registration fee and for the remainder of December and i would not be charged for January if they can not figure out a new class time that will work for my family.... I emailed the owner Serinty, to find out if it has been figured out I get a response stating they are trying to work it out and most likely it will be wed. morning and she will let me know that night or the following day. She never touched base with me again. I then find out I was charged the $40.00 on top of a $31.00 Overdraft fee (due to it coming out from our account I only transfer enough funds into for expected bills, so my fault for trusting I was not going to be charged that 40.00 and I have learned my lesson we are keeping extra $$ in it at all times now for reasons like this). I then emailed her and no response I attempt to call a couple days later and leave a voice mail no response. I attempted to call today and the voice mail is no longer set up.. I continued to call just in case someone picked up. Which again Anna picked up, she then informed me I will not be getting a refund for the registration fee and the owner Serinty mailed a refund just for $40.00 yesterday. I understand registration fees cannot be refunded if you choose to leave the studio I did not choose to leave the studio they canceled my daughters class all together and did not offer a replacement class.
We love Starr Studios. The teachers are friendly and truly care about the improvement of their students. Miss.Serenity is dedicated and puts in so much time, creativity, and hard work into her studio. Not to mention she makes class enjoyable for all of her students. The positive, inclusive environment is one that can not be found at any other studio. The improvement of the students here is significant and recognizable. We cannot express our gratitude for the role this studio has played in our lives. Miss.Serenity plays a supportive role in the lives of all of her students. This is an amazing studio and we couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Audrey Parks (and Tessa Rosenau)
My LO started ballet when she was 2 and half, this past January. What an amazing experience to watch her develop and grow. I was so proud to see the confidence she had during the dance recital. The instructors make class fun for the kids, are very patient and kind.
My daughter loves the classes and looks forward to the recitals. Great experience as a volunteer parent, very well organized.
My daughter has been dancing at Starr Studios for two years now and we continue to have a fabulous experience. The owner and teachers really invest in their students. Not just in teaching them technique but also in encouraging and caring for them. Miss Serenity has done a fabulous job creating a space with a positive and loving environment where dance truly is FUN! And recitals are a blast!
My son had a wonderful experience in his Hip-Hoppity dance class. His teachers were so kind and patient! I would really recommend this place for any little ones wanting to get their feet wet in dance and have a great time while doing it!
We love Starr Studios. They care about their dancers and they work hard to make a positive experience for their dancers.
Really great teachers at a fair price, and of course a whole lot of fun!
Love Starr studios! We've already done the winter recital, which was Grinch themed, and it was a blast! Every time we come to class, our daughter lights up with glee. She loves her instructors, and they are constantly doing new activities and dances. We can't recommend Starr studios enough. Great after-school activity, or introduction to various styles of dance.
I have been dancing at Starr Studios for almost 3 years and have totally enjoyed my experience! I've been very impressed with the community at the school. The owner, staff, and students are very supportive of one another and foster a positive atmosphere. There are many different styles of dance offered and many students explore multiple options before settling with one (or more) to continue with. If you are looking for a fun entrance to dance for your child, no matter what age, this is the place to be!
My daughter has been going to Starr for about a year and a half. I wasn't sure she'd like it. Boy was I wrong... she LOVES it. The staff are so great w the little kids. They were able to give my daughter the confidence she needed to dance on stage, and now she's always asking "Mom when do I get to dance on stage again?"!!. Starr is excellent and really clear with all of their communication too, which is great appreciated. Looking forward to being a Starr member for years to come.
My 7 year old daughter has been going to this Starr Studios for about a year and a half. She loves it! She loves the recitals and I think it has really given her a confidence boost since she started dancing!
I have loved everything about Starr Studios! Registering was easy and organized with super helpful staff to guide you. The classes are absolutely darling and my daughter leaves each class skipping with joy. Her teachers are the epitomy of kindness and encouragement. I could not ask for anything more. I recommend Starr Studios to everyone!
