Very nice Hotel. Food and drinks are great. Pleasant place to relax with ocean views. Also the Grand Bar on ground level is good on a Sunday late arvo/evening for a social lubricant eg. Beer or wine etc..

I arrived on the Saturday 11/01/20 and went to the check in desk only to find I booked the Stamford Plaza in Adelaide by mistake. Richel who was at the desk realized what I had done, after she couldn't find my booking on her system. Standing at the desk she realized I was devastated because we were catching up with my brother's family who was already staying there. She showed great concern and kept on re-assuring me that it would be sorted. She managed to find us a room for the weekend and arranged the cancellation from the Plaza. She was fantastic and sorted it all out to make it an enjoyable holiday. I've stayed there twice and will stay there again when in Adelaide.

Twice now I ve stayed here. First time to go to a wedding and second time hoping it would be better Food overpriced. $130 for 2 steaks. $8 side for soggy chips each. If you like to pay $19 for a 80ml Margherita this is the place for you and don t ask for a simple refund. They call even a more offensive person to offend you.

The hotel is in a great location. It has big rooms with big comfy beds. Plenty of shops, restaurant's, pubs and cafe's nearby. Friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast. Shower pressure is poor and the toilet paper is awful, I would suggest bringing your own. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Ocean view rooms are mint for the view alone. Helpful desk and concierge staff. Fitness centre is average (no heavy free weights, elliptical broken) pool is nice. Great location close to heaps of lively bars and restaurants. About 25 min in a cab to cbd.

Had my year 12 formal there and the food was to die for, the quality and the quantity was superb. The night was great and although there was another formal next to us, it was completely soundproof in our ballroom.

Was here during the winter time in Australia and was a nice stay for the time there. I do recommend you reserve online and take advantage of the deals doing so as you can get a room with breakfast for a reasonable price. I do like how their website does conversion of currency for you at least to USD. Had a room with an ocean view which was nice and met my needs. Breakfast buffet was not bad and liked how you can walk to many good restaurants nearby. I would stay here again and it was also by the tram to downtown which saves some driving.

Always a good place to stay with good service and clean room. The Horizons bar was nice with great live music. Our package included Dinner and breakfast at the Promenade restaurant, it was enjoyable but not the experience that it has been in the pass.

Spa was warm, pool was cool but pleasant and the overall condition of the room was good. The only downside was there was a hair on the clean towels, only one robe and one chair for the balcony, the bathroom is nice and spacious with excellent water pressure. but there wasn't an exhaust fan?.. The floor also got quite wet because of the lack of drainage in the shower. Climate system is good and has ample heating and cooling. Now to the room service. I had a beef burger $26 and my fiance had a ceaser salad with chicken and prawns $29. The food was amazing! And quick to reach the room. The bed was a really comfortable king size. Over all great place to stay and will definitely be back.

Location is absolutely fantastic - right by the beach, and also by the main street with restaurants and shops.

Room was very clean, tidied up well each day, and everything worked well.

Staff were friendly and helpful, whilst not being particularly fast during check out process.

Breakfast was mediocre at best. For $20, the selection felt limited. Just a few varieties of eggs, sausage/bacon, breads and cereal. Omelette that was made to order was about the only thing to get excited about.

Their coffee was the worst thing I've ever had in my life - I'm not even sure if it was coffee. It was more like water used to wash the beans then filtered out by a piece of paper ripped out of 50 year old book from library. This came out of this big expensive looking coffee machine which I'm sure the intended end result can't be this bad. I'm guessing the maintenance has been poor (old filter etc) or input has been bad (bad beans, or lack thereof).

Will I stay here again? Absolutely yes for the location and comfort of the room. But I would take my $20 elsewhere for a brekky.

Ok. Lunch deal good, but as with all meals don't expect bread, this is not France.
Breakfast best value but get there before 8.30am otherwise the que is lengthy.
Best Avoid the "barista" coffee. There is great coffee just a short walk out the back door at :somewhere@mosley. Check it out.

It's an amazing location, great food but don't believe them when they say the pool is heated - it is not even close. Water must have been 10 degrees Celsius - I have swum in an outdoor pool in Melbourne when it is 10 or 30 degrees outside and the pool is comfortable to enter regardless. It was 18 degrees outside here today and the water was frigid - my foot cramped before I even got calf deep. The spa was warm.

Worst experience to the beginning of our wedding anniversary weekend
To be honest I felt like I was checking into a prison (not that Ive experienced it).
On checking in at 10.30pm, the reception staff were rude and arrogant with no concept of the fact they are meant to be providing 4 star service. Our room request was for a king bed which we had booked and paid for and when escorted to our room to find 2 queen beds. On asking reception to fulfil our kind bed request as it wedding anniversary, all my ears heard was a barrage of excuses and customer blame that I booked through a third party booking agent (Wotif needs to be reading this). It seemed so much trouble for this young girl, in a hotel with 220 rooms to find an empty one with a King bed for the paying guest.
At breakfast the next morning, the staff seemed "over it". Don't stand too close to your toast as rude wait staff pushed me out of the way to get to some crockery in the cupboard under the toaster.
We spent less than 12 hours in this hotel, most of them asleep, but the waking ones unfortunately have left us never ever wanting to stay in another Stamford hotel again.

Attended new years eve seafood buffet here. The selection was great but unfortunately some desserts weren't replenished through the two hour session so we missed out on some of the items we had our eyes on. Waited 30 minutes before I asked a waiter for a drinks menu as we hadn't been asked yet. Expected better service for the amount we paid.

Great location! Running on the beach is awesome and all the food locations near by. Rooms are spacious but it s looking a bit tired. Pool is nice, but again tired. Service is so so, ice not delivered, room keys not working frequently. Little things. Overall good value and would go back.

Hadn't stayed there for years until recently, I just love the place.

Offered a cheap upgrade to ocean views on arrival, well worth it in my opinion. The location is incredible.

Staff were friendly and professional.

Some people saying the facilities are dated and tired, but it feels more like this place is locked in time (in a good way for me). Sure the brass could do with a polish here and there, but if that detracts from your experience then you are probably a deeply unhappy person.

The pool area was lovely, but it could be amazing with a little work. A lick of paint, some cocktail service, and maybe some cover to keep the wind out of there would go a long way. Saunas are out of fashion these days anyway, but the one here isn't hot and steamy enough for me.

I really enjoyed my time at the grand and I will make a point of staying again.

I paid for a king bed room but it turned out 2 queens because they are all booked out. The room was dated with old smell. And a couple weeks later after my stay, they sent me a receipt by post and charged $11 into my credit card for drinks (in the bar fridge) that I'd never used. I tried to call them once but got put on hold for too long, it's not worth to waste more time putting up with that so I hung up and will never book to stay there again
