Great food. Rustic atmosphere.

A little pricey for Salado.

Great food and service! We had the prime rib and pork tenderloin and every bite was amazing! Highly recommend!
New management did a FABULOUS job. Remodled and new hands in the kitchen. Food was DELICIOUS! This was memorable. Again food is fantastic. Visited on a Friday night, had Prime Rib! Had to come back for Brunch the next day. This place is at the top of my favorite places now. YOU MUST STOP IN.
If you haven't yet....
Please do so, you won't be let down.
Not many choices for chicken. Small portions for the cost.
Great food, can t go wrong with literally anything on the menu, friendly staff, and a great place to relax and eat
We stopped at the Stagecoach Inn for lunch. I had the blackened catfish, but after being warned it was a spicy dish, was surprised at how mild it was. Good, but milder than I'm used to eating. The hush puppies were great, especially with honey butter. My wife enjoyed her french toast brioche and my kids loved the hearty burgers they ordered.
This is beautiful historic hotel in a quaint little town, with great beds and better service.
Amazing food and great decor that keeps the history of this place alive.
Went to the " new and improved " Stagecoach Inn Restaurant and was not impressed sorry to say. I used to love this place. Missed the hush puppies. They say they are the same ,but no they are not. Ordered steak medium rare got very rare husband's prime rib cold. Wait staff was awesome. Won't be back to modern for me !
Great restaurant. You can eat healthy or not, they have all options!
The burger I had was excellent! Prices are a little ridiculous.
I don't think this is a motel at all, Google. Really nice restaurant, though. Their evening and weekend meals are different from the weekday meals.
Beautifully restored original stagecoach stop in Salado. The oldest restaurant in Texas. Food was excellent, using locally sourced vegetables. The only downside is the ongoing road work causing traffic and parking issues.
Beautiful rooms and amenities. They are still working on upgrades but, who cares? Because the service was astounding, and rooms were quite and comfortable. Will most definitely be back!
Always wanted to go for the history so we stopped for lunch. We were not very hungry so we both got the Stagecoach Burger. It was absolutely the best thing I have had in years - incredible flavor. Will definately stop again if we get the chance.
Service was excellent. Price range was equal to the value. Probably the best "fish and chips" I have ever had including London. Great history all around
Went with a group. Our meal took almost three hours. The vegetables we're cold. The place is not what it used to be.
We have been here 4 times, every time the food has been wonderful and the wait staff has been beyond excellent, especially Jacob!
Realy don't need to dive in deep here, the food was not good, lack of flavor and poor expectation.
We went out for a nice evening meal. We were seated on a deck area by the bar. We could not have a conversation with the noise from the bar area. We mentioned this to the waitress and were told there was no other seating. She did take a drink order. So after ordering our food we let her know our preferences. We ordered appetizers and they came timely. The food was brought a couple minutes later. We felt rushed. We ate we left. The food was great. Service and experience awful.
Been coming here for over 3 decades. Been 3 times since new ownership. Not the same. Unbelievably bad service and the food is mediocre at best. Would not recommend! Terribly disappointed every time. Shame!
Mikayla went above and beyond! She came and brought us new sheets and a phone charger! The service here is amazing and very much appreciated!
Lot of traditions remain, food very mild tasteless.
Went there for a meeting and lunch. Food and service was good.
This place is truly a Texas Oasis. I wasn't thrilled when we chose Saledo, TX for our weekend getaway, but Stagecoach Inn quickly made it an enjoyable experience. They have transformed the hotel grounds into a relaxing gem hidden in sleepy Saledo.
Came with a large group. Felt like we were sitting in on a weird "time share" meeting trying to get us to stay at their inn. The buffet style meal they catered was cold, dried out and way over priced. $24.95 for a half attempt of a nacho bar. The queso was watery and not appetizing. Should have been more like $9.95. On the plus side, the wait staff were nice and the facility was nice.
It's truly beautifully historic as an original Stagecoach stop. It has been recently updated without losing its original feel. The food is local flavor and prepared to perfection. The area surrounding it has many shops close by to visit.
The food was great and the new look is open and bright. Wish the would bring back the original fudge pecan pie as well.
Great food, great ambiance, exceptional service ! Great country style food in an awesome setting. Was originally a stagecoach stop on the Chisholm trail, which ran through downtown Salado .Is the 2nd oldest operating hotel in the state. Now that s some history. Great place to stay for a weekend exploring Salado. Highly recommend this place
If you love romantic dinner, nice quiet dining, SALADO's StageCoach Inn is the most perfect setting. No traffic woes, no sirens, oh no Sushi trending bar flys, no pretentiousness and not one freaking "Scooter" in site. My wife and I were decompressing from "City Rat Life." You have to get here..... I had Shrimp and grits, salad , the hushpuppies were excellent. Grits awesome, our waitress MEGAN, was just what we needed an honest server with great service.
Chicken fries steak, salads chickpea dressings, Shrimp & Grits,....wow. Deserts were filling...peach cobbler ale mode.
On the way home from the airport in Austin. Called to see if my family could get in for a nice dinner. Paul says c'mon in. Had not been at this restaurant since I-35 expansion in Salado. I do have to say this restaurant is beautiful, the decor along with excellent service from the time you enter to the time you leave. Food was exquisite along with great or . Now just imagine the rooms. 5 's and a 's up to Paul and all the staff. Will be going again.
We went Sat evening. Very disappointed. This was the first time we have been since they redid everything. First off you have to wear a mask but can take it off while sitting. That's ridiculous and makes no sense. Then we had to wait to be seated. So we looked at the small menu while waiting. Hardly anything to chose from. They no longer serve twice baked potatoes or squash. The waitresses are dressed differently. It has lost that nice friendly welcome that we felt before they changed. We left and didn't even order. We won't be going back.
Good service and food in a relaxing athsmosphere. Smoked Bacon is the best of the house.
The food was amazing and the prices very reasonable
The staff very attentive and welcoming. I recommend this restaurant.
So delighted it has re-opened! Many lovely memories of long lunches with friends and staff members there. Those of us who remember the good old days opt for the traditional menu that starts with hush puppies crusted in sea salt with honey butter and chicken broth, choice of salad, choice of entree and, a choice between two decadent desserts. Heavy silverware, white linen napkins, fresh flowers on the tables and friendly, attentive staff. You couldn't ask for a finer experience. The food is delicious, filling; the service is superior, the atmosphere is warm, rich and inviting.
Amazing facilities, fantastic food!! Ask for specials not on the menu!!
Love the decor and the little special touches they leave in the rooms.
The rooms are very delightful, very cute, a work of art amongst themselves. There is a restaurant across the street that i recommend, delicious food! Or you can stay on site and enjoy the food served at the dinner. I love all the greenery surrounding the Inn
This place is amazing! Great location for exploring downtown Salado, the little creek and a bunch of shops are in walking distance. The balcony is to die for and so peaceful. This was a quiet property even though when we stayed it was fully booked. The pool is large and there s a nice bar super close to it. The property is large and so beautiful. Comfy beds and a large room. And the rooms are definitely clean. Just everything about it was wonderful. There s a restaurant on site. The only things that I can think of that were not great (and this is me being super picky) were that the room was super dim and you can t really read in bed, and that you have to park a little ways from your room. Although arrival is nice because a staff member in a golf cart drives you to your room and carries your luggage into your room.
Great place. Great service. Great food. I highly recommend.
Very friendly staff and a charming place, the restaurant and bar is grrat.
I've been reopened and going through significant renovations this remains an excellent place for lunch or dinner. Once it is going full speed this will definitely be the place to visit. It has gone through much change but still quality food
The food was excellent. Attentive wait staff, and one of the managers(Josh) made the dining experience unique by giving us a tour of the historic restaurant and the surrounding facilities. The quail appetizer was fantastic.
The recently remodeled Stagecoach Inn Restaurant retains the wonderful atmosphere that I remember from 3-4 decades ago. The huge glass windows of the enclosed back deck offer quiet peaceful views out to the surrounding grounds, while you eat. Most recently, I had the chicken salad and a bowl of chicken consomme. It was delightful!
Food is ok but not completely worth it, the only AMAZING thing that I ate was the hushpupies
A very limited menu. The food was mouthwatering and delicious! It was a fine dining experience in downtown Salado.
Was not impressed at all with the food especially for the prices. My son ordered a burger off the kids menu which was good. We got the herbed chicken and I there was no seasoning on it at all. The service was slow. The waitress was nice.
Lovely, historically restored restaurant! Great food and service!
They are still doing some renovations but we really enjoyed our stay. Once this place is completed it is going to be a hidden gem!! The hotels rooms are cozy and they have plants everywhere so it has a country feel. The pool is in the middle of the property and all rooms can see it. The restaurant is next door and they have a great menu full of twists on popular items. The hotel is located on main street and there are alot of shops, brewerys and restaurants within walking distance. This is a really cool town and we will be back.
New owners have DESTROYED this place. 31 years I've been coming here....damn shame, DESTROYED this place!!! Hushpuppies suck, hard. Literally hard hushpuppies, thick and bland. Menu changed too much...and...menus! They have menus now...but they need them, prices outrageous. Only two dessert choices now too. Don't get the strawberry kiss, it's more like a throat punch than a kiss. I think the meringue is made out of cement now. They also..... put in a bar and a large screen TELEVISION. The atmosphere that was the Stagecoach inn is gone.... Rest in Peace Stagecoach Inn...you and Salado will be missed.
Great food, great service! Jazzy background music in an historic building. Really fun experience.
We ate at their restaurant in the sunroom which was overlooking trees and greenery. All of the food we had was delicious and it was a very enjoyable experience.
comfortable setting and friendly people. lunch combo choices were a bargain for 3 courses and very tasty.
The drinks were great and the food was also good. I'd say it's an Austin style experience in a small town.
I had my wedding here and it was wonderful! The staff was so caring and helpful. The food was also great. They even upgraded us free of charge to a suite. The ceremony area was beautiful and so was the reception area! I would 10/10 recommend having your wedding here. I wish we could do it all again!! We love the stagecoach inn :)
cute place and nice renovations. the food was noticeably different from the previous 10 years we had all come there. real shame. go back to the old recipes or get the old chefs back. whatever it is now doesn't compare
Great service and love the updated menu with fresh ingredients. The old restaurant had taken cuts on quality. They did a wonderful job restoring and balancing history, culture, and cuisine.
We only had brunch here but the service was really good. The atmosphere was really neat. Salado is a really neat little town and if you are coming from far away I this would be a neat place to stay.
This place is a gem , pretty nice hotel in Salado village . Place was clean and unique . Food was really good . Pretty amazed and for sure we are going back soon.
We went for dinner. The fried pickles, shrimp, and salmon were excellent and the restaurant gave off a romantic impression. It was slightly pricey for the amount of food, but the ambiance was worth it.
The bar-b-q shrimp was delicious! Nice setting for a meal.
Although the staff was very friendly and accommodating, unfortunately the food quality didn't seem to match. I ordered the beer can chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans but sadly the taste and flavor was about on par with any rotisserie chicken you'd find at a local grocery store but with a MUCH higher price!

Chicken fries steak....wow. Deserts were filling...
Good environment and cool story behind the restaurant
Food was outstanding. Finally a place that does French fries that are to die for. Good service.
Long a landmark in Salado, the new ownership has transformed the Stagecoach Inn to be a foodie s take on the classic stagecoach menu. The menu itself is relatively small, but they ve limited it to what they can excel at. Our group included a vegetarian, several dietary restrictions, and two people who wouldn t settle for anything but beef, and everyone went home happy. Expensive, but still 5 stars.
Used to have better for before the remodel. Just wasn't impressed with anyone's meal. Desserts looked good but lacked real flavor.
Good food! Loved the renovation. Place looks great!
Where did the traditional historical restaurant go? We were there tonight and we felt like we were at another chain restaurants....a BAR and a TV doesn't belong in this place. The metal tables made the place more noisy than already is after the "remodel" (not sure I can call that a remodel since they didn't continue with the same historical feeling and theme in the new area). Wood traditional tables would have given are warmer and more historical, traditional feeling to it. The waitresses used to wear historical outfits and recite the menu and that's now also gone. The music was also modern bar music that doesn't belong in a restaurant like this where you come not just for food but to enjoy the ambience and the old traditional county music. Those are also gone now. Bar music is what you get. The food is overpriced for the quality and it doesn't scream history to me either. Too modern and is not any different than what I can find at a chain restaurant. We loved to go there for the atmosphere and uniqueness but that's now gone. It feels, looks and taste just like any other restaurant you can find anywhere. Not worth it to make a special trip to Salado anymore just to eat at this restaurant. The town is still cute but they lost a precious gem. Won't be back.
Different from the old stage coach but not bad. We had the room to ourselves but they seated us by the window where the only view was of the air conditioners. Lost a point there. Come on , the worst seat in the house. Rachel our waitress More
Not worth $150. The traffic on 35 is SO loud. I slept horribly in the room (cold tile floors, stiff pillow). They advertise a pool-side bar, but it was never open while we were there. The nicest things about the hotel are the bathrooms (nice shower, but the hot water came and went) and the closeness to shopping. Parking can be a bit of a hassle because they park you behind a closed gate. They say someone is always there (in the office), but that's not always the case if they're driving someone to their room.
