Such a treat, we went for drinks at The American Bar and was great Ed with friendly staff on arrival. Told to sit wherever we like and asked if we'd like to see teumenubor knew what we wanted. Great service and table nibbles of olives and crisps replenished frequently. It is price mind, but worth it for the service and a treat. Very nice!

Please don't come to the bar here, it's not beautiful and the drinks aren't delicious. Please stay away so it doesn't get crowded and I can keep this bar to myself. Thanks!
Early dinner at the Game Bird was excellent. Great, attentive service and really well executed food. I had a celeriac salad which was earthy- exactly what I would have hoped for. A chicken kiev came with its own apron as they had a history More
Today I explored this beautiful hotel and it's surroundings, it has a restaurant which is beautiful and has a bar inside it. The American Bar, though, was not so glamourous. It was almost like a university's bar, with caps and toy aeroplanes hanging from the ceiling. The outside section although, was very pretty, and is nice to drink in on a sunny day.
Read very good things about this hotel and was familiar with the area. However, the room was extremely small and better suited for 1 person even though we booked what we thought was a Queen room for 2 people. Overall feeling of the hotel was that it is a bit snooty. The American Bar, however, was great.
We visited The Stafford for a pre Christmas lunch for the second time, after being delighted with both the service, food & staff were very attentive, polite & welcoming.. Look forward to returning later in year, for another enjoyable lunch.
Really sad that this place where we have had Christmas brunch every year for 15 years has dropped its standards so significantly. My polite attempts to feedback via email afterwards were ignored. When I chased they simply said 'hope we do better next time'. The service was so poor we were incredulous and felt embarrassed to have taken friends. so sad that it could have been rectified with a customer centric approach. Loyalty lost just like that. Warning to potential guests, there are places who care far more.
Stayed here based on a friend's recommendation. It is the best location in the heart of London - close to everything. Staff is very attentive. A bit hard to find the first time. Intimate, and comfortable.
Entrepreneurs who want to share their space with preppy bourgeois or banker suited types will enjoy this classy hotel, bar and tea salons. Excellent service, 5 star prices, but you can entertain serious meetings or work on your next billion dollar startup.
Wow, this hotel is very unique. Old and New mixture yet very posh. I like the decor and everything is sophisticated. I would like to stay in one of the beautiful rooms.
It was our 4th NYE stay. We had wonderful time at the hotel again. The staff is very friendly, helpful and kind. We always feel like coming home. THANK you for that.
Best hotel I have ever stayed in. The decor is gorgeous. Each area has it's own style while being warm and inviting. The staff is incredible and goes the extra mile no matter your needs. I highly recommend upgrading your room so that you get a bit of extra space if you are rooming with someone. The food is excellent at all the restaurants. I can't wait to go back next year.
What an incredible hotel. This is a real hidden gem in the heart of St. James's! Elegant, charming, sophisticated and utterly luxurious. A lovely sprinkle of tradition at this unique residence.
Beautiful hotel at St. James Place. Staff is extremely accommodating, the rooms are pretty, comfortable beds, and very clean. Ned Holder in guest relations contacted us before our stay offering his assistant for anything we required for our stay and welcomed us in person when we arrived. Charlie, their doorman, is a gem! If you want suggestions for interesting things to do and see, Charlie is your man! He gave us the best recommendations along with directions, with interesting points of interest along the way. The hotel has its own pub, " The American Bar" which is both historic and lovely; you'll find a beautiful and classic interior along with outdoor tables in their pretty courtyard. This hotel was perfect for our first trip to London!
Old fashioned quality that is hidden in this quiet cul de sac. I was pleased to return as a customer having been involved in a major refurbishment and extension project here in the 70's. Go for a posh tea and see if you can spot where my project ended and the old one ended. Apparently a haunt of Frank Sinatra when he was alive.
Due to the good reviews we chose this hotel in London. At no time have we regretted it, even though the prices were quite substantial. From breakfast to room service everything was great.
It's the stately Victorian hotel with refined accommodation and fine dining, located at centre of city, shiny and beautiful structure, good working staff, helping service staff, clean and fine rooms.
Very interesting hotel and excellent conversion of the former stables in the rear courtyard. This courtyard/stable area has been converted into multiple apartments whilst the actual yard is now a very attractive open-air restaurant. And the food service is also excellent.
The room was incredibly overpriced. Very small. Bed was stiff. Customer service was awful. The hotel smells like old people. Location though, was incredible. This is just a stone's throw away from Buckingham Palace and Big Ben. I definitely won't be staying here again.
Nice outside seating area and the inside is very homely. Lager is only served in bottles, which was a slight annoyance but very nice complementary snacks are provided, which were a very nice touch. I would definitely return.
It's lovely, staff is attentive, it is an older building so be ready for some "eccentricities" (bathroom is small, controls for shower a bit wonky) but the room is very comfortable and well appointed. Lovely turndown service. Very quiet.
