Very nice theater, I went to Arjen Lubach. It was a super performance. what a talented man. Furthermore, the hall was beautiful and sound quality was top, also the seats were comfortable. Unfortunately not as good as the Stadsschouwburg in Groningen, but still. I advise it.

I wasn't in the theatre for a performance, i had the chance to sit in the cafe area. It looks good for drinks but mainly is for people visiting the theatre itself when they have breaks in between.

What a beautiful, cozy theater. There are beautiful paintings by many well-known actors in the foyers and beautiful murals in the central halls. Well worth it. In addition, very friendly approach to staff.

The city theater has recently been renovated and now has a revolving door as an entrance. Looks good and has the great advantage that it is now a lot less draft in the brasserie. Nice place for a performance, or just a dinner!

About Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam

Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam: A Cultural Hub in the Heart of Amsterdam

If you're looking for a cultural experience in the heart of Amsterdam, look no further than Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam. Located on Leidseplein, one of the most famous entertainment districts in the Netherlands, this theater is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in theater, dance, music or comedy.

The history of Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam dates back to 1894 when it was first opened as a venue for plays and operas. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the most important cultural institutions in the city. Today, it hosts over 500 performances each year and attracts more than 300,000 visitors annually.

One of the things that sets Stadsschouwburg apart from other theaters is its commitment to showcasing a diverse range of performances. Whether you're interested in contemporary dance or classical music, there's something for everyone here. The theater also hosts international productions and collaborations with artists from around the world.

In addition to its impressive lineup of performances, Stadsschouwburg is also known for its beautiful architecture and design. The building itself is an impressive example of Dutch neo-Renaissance style with ornate details and grand entrances that make it feel like stepping back into another era.

But despite its historic roots and traditional design elements, Stadsschouwburg is anything but old-fashioned when it comes to technology. The theater has invested heavily in state-of-the-art sound systems and lighting equipment to ensure that every performance looks and sounds amazing.

Another thing that makes Stadsschouwburg unique is its commitment to sustainability. The theater has implemented numerous eco-friendly initiatives such as using LED lighting throughout the building and sourcing local food products for their restaurant.

Whether you're a local resident or visiting Amsterdam from abroad, a visit to Stadsschouwburg should be at the top of your list if you want to experience some truly world-class culture. With so many different types of performances on offer throughout the year – from opera to stand-up comedy – there's always something new and exciting happening at this iconic venue.

So why not book your tickets today? You won't regret experiencing all that this incredible institution has to offer!
