Amazing dinner
I went to celebrate my birthday. From start to finish every staff member made this a special evening. The food was outstanding. I had free range chicken with gnocchi and butternut squash...it was amazing. My husband had pork shank with kale. He said it was the most tender pork he has had in a restaurant and great flavor. You cannot...
Upscale dining in downtown. Fresh local ingredients were delicious and included in all courses. Appetizer serving size seems costly in comparison to the main entree cost.

My husband had the Wagyu Beef Steak & Brisket as an entree, and while the brisket is a small, whisper of a portion, it is the star of the show and better than the steak even. Try. The. Dang. Brisket. And I am a native Texan, so that's saying a lot! I had the Antelope, which was delicious, but I ended up ordering an extra side of brisket.
While on vacation, we were able to experience some of the finest dining in the country. We enjoyed a unique refreshing drink at the bar when we walked in, while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive.
The multi course dinner with wine pairing was exceptionally delicious. The thought and love used to prepare the food was recognized in every delicious detail.
I especially enjoyed the lightly smoked hen. I finished with the peanut butter brittle and chocolate dessert and cannot express how perfectly balanced the flavor, texture and size are. I highly recommend reserving a fine dining experience here. The staff and chefs are friendly and caring.

We had the oysters, duck foie gras, and wagyu beef. The service, as well as the meal was excellent. The chef mixes savory and sweet in original ways. The food comes from local, sustainable farms and is organic.

Ate there last night and our filets were perfect. The seasoning had depth and our request for rare and medium rare were spot on. The starter salads are big - so caution if you order one and also an entree. The brown bread is good, but the sweet butter is delicious. It's a special treat restaurant and pricey, but great food, service, and atmosphere makes it a winner in my book.

One of my top 5 meals of all time! Total experience was top notch. Waiter knew menu intimately and described selections very well. Waiter accurately discerned when to visit table and when not to visit table. Fried brussels salad was absolutely amazing. Really enjoyed the last shot of Eagle Rare 17yr.
Outstanding, cordial, attentive, personal service. Ambiance was normal classical, not too loud. Menu was varied, and very interesting. Presentation was beautiful. Tastes were novel, extremely well balanced. Prep and cooking were superb. Prices were moderate for quality and service. Reminded my wife of New Orleans flair & architectual style. A lot Like the Palace Cafe. Recommended for anyone who truly enjoys good food. You will have fun here.
I am SO happy we were able to be squeezed in as a last minute reservation at the bar on a Friday night. There is certainly a reason this place gets booked days out. For the life of me, I cannot recall our bartender/servers name but she was a true gem! She greeted my wife and I with a genuine smile and excitement that is rare when it comes to dining. We had the tomato frittata salad for an appetizer, the Wagyu beef, gnocchi and side of broccolini for dinner, and ended the night with the vegan cheesecake. There was not a bite left on either of our plates! Everything was absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes were creative. This is the perfect place for a special occasion or a nice date night. We will DEFINITELY be coming back on our next visit to Chattanooga!
Upscale restaurant with some of the best (special occasion) food in town. Previous chef nominated for a James Beard award. Next door's more casual Meeting Place is also good.

I took my now fiance here on our 6th anniversary before I propose and it was amazing. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. They change the menu up so it's always serving different things. Probably the best meal and restaurant experience we've had as a couple.
No doubt, the food is delicious. I ordered a glass of wine, and the waiter did not bring the bottle. When I left and drove pass the restaurant, I saw a Franzia box wine in their kitchen through the window. I was wondering why a cheap box wine was in their kitchen in this high-end restaurant?
For the 150 I just paid my wife was mostly gristle. First time there and last time.

My husband and I went to Saint John's for an anniversary. The waiter was so helpful, friendly and polite. The dinner was elegant, colorful and really the best meal I have had in a restaurant in Chattanooga. After we went, I actually saw the chef at Saint John's on a Ming Tsai television show!

We had an amazing dinner. Four of us dined all having different main courses. Having tried a little taste of each, I know they all were delicious. The stand out was a tuna tartar first course plate. Our waiter Joe did an exceptional job. He was pleasant, courtesy and very efficient. It was our wedding dinner and the cook sent out a complimentary first course of perogies for each of us. It was a nice touch to a great experience. If you go you I believe you will enjoy yourself tremendously. Thank you Joe, chef and St. John's staff.

Service was great!! Steak tartare was well made and tasted close to home, lamb was cooked perfect as well as the steaks and the braised cheeks. Overall good experience.

I would definitely recommend St. John's as a destination for a nice meal. We were impressed with every item that we ordered! The chicken was spot on... moist and delicious!

The staff is extremely professional, courteous and knowledgeable and the food and atmosphere is too notch! I have Celiac's but it has not been a problem at all to dine there----we look forward to returning!

My girlfriends and I hang out here all the time and we love the low key atmosphere at St. John s. I know the family that owns it and they are super nice too. I recommend you try it.

The food was fantastic. The service was very well done. Great staff and romantic atmosphere. It was a perfect venue for our anniversary. I was expecting to pay $100 per person or something, but it was about half that. I will definitely be back again. St John's place was worth every penny.

My boyfriend and I are new to town and wanted to try St.Johns. The food is absolutely exquisite. The management also great. Our waiter was less then desirable. Overall we had a good dinner but coming from working in the industry ourselves previously we expected more from the service.

Valet parking available, but street and lot parking are in the vicinity. Unassuming building outside. Food and wine are excellent, and staff is very knowledgeable at pairings.

Oh my goodness! This was one of the more special dinners I've ever had for my 40th Anniversary. Treated ike Royalty, Wonderful food and service. Had the Grouper and Trout plate, highly recommend!

My husband and I ate here during a recent trip to Chattanooga and it was such a quality, delicious, and perfect meal. I was impressed with everything that came to the table. The food was amazing and well portioned for "fine dining" and the accompanying prices. The atmosphere is modern, on the fancy side, but not too stuffy. Also our sever, Joe, was very personable and had wine and food pairings when we asked for them. I will come here every time I visit Chattanooga.
This is a local restaurant which we visit often. I can honestly say that in the three years we have been going we have never had a bad experience. And if you eat downstairs you can even take your dog. It's adjacent to Smithfield Market , so menu tends to be traditional meat -centric English dishes , but with a modern twist. Not cheap , but worth every penny. Friendly , knowledgable highly professional staff , excellent wines , it's not even that expensive.
Really enjoyed the antelope here. Waiter was knowledgeable about the wine and recommended excellent pairing with the meal. Everything is always 100% when I go here.
Excellent from start to finish. The bread basket was amazing, the Filet melted in your mouth and I thought about it all the next day. We had a quiet table in the corner upstairs and could see the whole restaurant which looked like it may have been an old bank building at one point. Would definitely go again

Upscale from what I am used to. The service was very good. The food was absolutely wonderful. The steak on the menu was surprisingly out of this world the best steak I have ever had hands down. If you don't like this you have a very sheltered pallet.
