There are seniors of today finding themselves thin...

There are seniors of today finding themselves thinking about their daily living filled with purposeful living and learning opportunities. I am currently a volunteer on the St. Camillus campus. Somehow these opportunities come where, when, and how we could never imagine. Such an opportunity was provided to me when the new memory care facility on the St. Camillus campus was ready for residents to move to their new home. San Camillo residents were invited to assist the kind, caring, and skilled professionals.
Most adults have been a part of an activity or situation that played out as if they were watching a movie. My volunteering put me in that very situation. The resident s short ride to their new future home was followed by lunch in their new dining room. After lunch, the residents, professional staff, and volunteers were in the Day Room having fun, getting to know each other, singing hits from the 40s, playing fun games, telling stories, and listening to music. Simply having a good time.
While we are having fun, pictures were taken of their former apartment, packers, and movers were busy getting the total contents of the apartment packed, loaded, and safely unloaded. With the pictures serving as a guide to placing items in their rightful place, furniture was put together and arranged, pictures were hung, beds were made, closets and drawers were arranged, and the phone and TV were connected.
Now the final step in this journey or at least until we see each other again was our trip to the resident s beautiful apartment. When the door opened, there was not much to say because my new friend s smile of joy and happiness, eyes of peace, and folded hands spoke to an attitude of gratitude. Some folks would refer to this opportunity as living in the silence of the moment.
Purposeful living and learning opportunities are on the St. Camillus campus.

I'm currently employed at St. Camillus and have been for almost 90 days now. I thank God for being able to have such a nice place to work during this very challenging time due to covid-19. I truly believe they're doing their best to keep the ones we provide care for and the staff safe.

Their hospice service and nursing home is dangerous. Please do not put your family member in their "care." My very sweet, terminally ill mother had to stay in the facility for about a week while she received treatment for colon cancer down the street. The staff was violently abusive while they bathed her and verbally abusive the rest of the time. Their hospice service while my mom was at home was absolutely awful. Unorganized, incompetent staff, and even an evil chaplain. It was a nightmare. I am highly considering suing them. I am putting this out there publicly as a warning. This place should be shut down immediately

My mom has been at San Camillus for over 2 years. She has been treated with the utmost care and respect. I would not think of having her anywhere else. Thank you to all who work so hard at providing such excellent care. We see you!

St. Camillus is a wonderful life plan community offering retirement living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, home health services and hospice. It is able to offer my family everything that my loved one needs in these final golden years! The staff are extremely helpful, responsive and willing to go above and beyond to accommodate. I love St. Camillus!

Since the day I moved into San Camillo I have felt safe and secure. The staff goes out of their way to help us and they include us in many of the decisions that pertain to the well being of all the Residents. Our new Memory Care unit is beautiful, eye appealing and provides a safe and healthy atmosphere for the residents. I have found many opportunities to volunteer in different areas of the Campus both in the San Camillo apartments and in other areas on campus. On one occasion I commented to Dean, one of the employees that everyone was so nice to us and he commented "I think of the each resident as my grandparent". That says it all!!

As a partnering senior living community with St. Camillus, our experience has been nothing but wonderful. We mainly work with the short term rehab social services team and Community Liaison, but no matter who we speak or work with over there, the staff is always very friendly and attentive to the needs of a business partner, their Residents and Resident family members they serve. We are proud to say we work with St. Camillus!

This is supposed to be one of the BEST facilities for senior care and one of the top places to work! I beg to differ. From my own EXPERIENCE I would have to say it is one of the WORSE places for senior living as well as employment! Worse place for senior living because no one comes together to do what s in the best interest of the resident Everyone wants to show off their title power and position! The aides work hard but are over shadowed & frowned upon & often mistreated by there superiors. The only time the residents are treated and cared properly is when their family and friends are involved, and that is when the staff go over and beyond to create a relationship fake and get brownie points from those families who then will trust them. Just do yourself and loved one a favor and pick another facility or you will be sorry.

We have been most impressed by the level of service afforded us by Jackie Knight and the entire San Camillo staff during the transition of my brother and sister-in-law to their Independent living unit.

They are looking forward to living at San Camillo and can't wait to meet all their new friends there.

Thanks Ms. Jackie Knight.
