Having driven for 28 years solid I have used garages in many parts of the uk and being a fairly competent home mechanic myself I can tell you that this is the most honest and trustworthy garage I have ever used.

I now get my van serviced and mot'd every year here even though I live right the other side of Reading.

They may not be the cheapest but what you get is excellent service and very reasonable value for money.

Every job is done properly and with genuine parts, the mechanics are very serious about what they do and are highly trained, they also listen, which is so important.

The staff are very knowledgeable and courteous and if you book in advance you can get a courtesy car too.

You just cannot fault Spratleys, I was very surprised to read a couple of bad reviews on here, but if you look deeper I think those reviews speak for themselves.

I only wish every company I dealt with was as good at what they do as Spratleys are.

Picked up car from my home returned nicely serviced and cleaned and book stamped. Not cheap but certainly not very expansive

I recently had reason to review my choice of car - Petrol vs Diesel and went into Spratleys. Wow! What a refreshing Car Dealership. I met Paul Spratley who owns the business and fronts the showroom. He was really professional, helpful, engaging. They have been a family business for 104 years and no wonder they are in business! What a caring, engaging, helpful approach. They have offered me a loan vehicle to drive for a week-end. It's nothing like i've ever experienced. it's like buying from a friend. I cannot recommend these people highly enough. Let's keep this business going!

I'm usually very cynical when it comes to garages. However I've used this garage a couple of times now and I must say I'm very impressed. They aren't expensive and have great customer services and do what they can to help.

Car went in for unknown fault. They found the problem on the 1st day and repaired within 2 days. Great job done, cost less than expected and great attitude. Thank you

Horrendously took advantage of my Father who is a pensioner. Charged him nearly double what the car is worth. Absolute disgrace, have reported them to Trading Standards and asked them to investigate. Shame on you.

Booked MOT and service online. The next day I take it in, receive a courtesy car and collect the next day. Reasonably priced as well.

Spratley's are an excellent garage. I've used them regularly for services and work on different cars over the last 4 or 5 years: their advice and workmanship is always spot on and their customer service is the best I've encountered.

After a breakdown, it was lucky for me that the AA took my car to this garage. Despite not being a regular customer, they went above and beyond normal expectations, to diagnose and repair my car promptly. As I couldn't reach work using public transport, they also found me a car to use. The professionalism and kindness I was shown was amazing. Will be using them from now on and cannot recommend them highly enough.

I recently had an MOT through Forge Garage in Burghfield and they tried to fix a crack in tube leading to my back exhaust box with glue. Needless to say my exhaust fell off within a couple days. I then came to Spratley s and Paul found a solution that meant I didn t have to replace the whole exhaust and for a good price. He also explained everything they were going to do without me asking which I really appreciate as in the past I ve felt confused as to why I m paying for something and it can feel unnecessary. In short I m really happy with their service and will be using them again.

Spratley's of Mortimer are the best motor garage ever! Possibly the best, friendliest and personal service I ve ever had and that includes the fact that my car failed it s MOT!

Really good, efficient and professional customer treatment. Had my car collected from home today for a service and MOT. Everything went smoothly and the gentleman collecting was very pleasant as was the lady at reception who took the booking and payment.

Happy to report I was not asked to pay for anything my car didn t need, as some other high street service centres have fobbed on to me before.
Will use Spratley s again.

Amazing service and speed. I visited between Christmas and new year and nothing was too much trouble. Had a clutch and flywheel changed within 48 hours. Highly recommended.
