Old style cinema. Their movies selection got something else than the regular kinepolis. It's cheaper and the coffee store is great too. I like their coffee even if I don't get in to watch a movie.
Cinema with adjoining cafe. Showing mostly independent films and world cinema. The cafe has a good selection of drinks and outdoor seating.
In the center of Gent. With independent movies. Fair prices. In the cafe there working friendly people.
Good location, bang in the historical centre of Ghent. Easy to reach by public transport, and underground car park St. Michiels at 300m. Showing less commercial but still accessible movies which are almost always great to watch. Be sure to check out its ground floor pub afterwards. Its one great disadvantage is no accessibility for wheelchairs, and the lack of elevators. From the top room to the toilets is 60 steps, making it hard for those with sore knees. If you are fully mobile, it is a recommended port of call.
Best price, interesting movie and amazing company. The fact I was alone, had a free ticket and slept through the movie doesn't change that Sphinx is the most characteristic place in Gent to grab a movie. The seats are great as well.
Old but cozy; it feels much more authentic than American like cinema's like Kinepolis.
For Hollywood movies with a lot of nice visuals, I might go to Kinepolis, but for non American movies with any sense of debth, the Sphinx is a much nicer place to go to.
Lovely arthouse cinema with a great range of films. The adjacent bar has a nice terrace, right in the city centre. Decent selection of (Belgian) beer and wine.
