Spencer's Gifts Review

Worked and Spencer's, at first loved it.. at first I loved my job and the people. Later on when I was told that I was annoying by management, say sorry to much, and to happy that's when it went down hill. I put in my two weeks and I have not got the best treatment. Would not recommend to work here, or if you do another other place than indianaplis.

I bought a pocket watch as a gift for Christmas from a Spencer's store. The watch was $29.99 and it was a Star Wars pocket watch. Unfortunately, wasn't working when my friend set the time. So I went back to see if I could exchange it or get it fixed. The man behind the counter said it looked like the battery had died and I could go purchase a replacement battery at the jeweler down the street... mind you, the watch was still in the box. Unused. So they sold me a watch with a dead battery.

I went to go get a replacement battery and it cost me $30... so I went back to Spencer's and politely requested to be reimbursed for my watch. The battery should have been in working condition when I bought the watch. Therefore I shouldn't have had to buy a battery for a brand new watch to begin with. They refused to reimburse me. Or even give me store credit for the faulty watch. I am overly disappointed in their customer service and their lack of understanding. I will not be shopping here again and am so disgusted that a cooporation would allow this kind of behavior. If you sell me a broken product the least you could do is make it right. I want a working watch or my money back. Unbelievably unacceptable.

I use to work in a Spencer's. Starting work was great until I had to work with someone who doesn't like and flaunts it around when the store manager is not there. But it really sucked for them to fire me on the same day I returned back to work the same week of my dad passing because I was apparently struggling. If that was the case why I did not receive a notification or anything else. I came to work on time clean and filled my DOR greeted EVERYONE who came through the door. It's a shame that my boss kicked me down more that I already was.

Found me in another store to accuse me of stealing an item in another customers hands. Worst store I've ever been to.

A woman in my church came home to find her 15 year old daughter with a Vibrator that she had purchased from a Spencers a the Westridge Mall in Topeka Kansas. I called and talked to a Manager, Heather and was told they didnt have a strict policy on selling sex toys to minors and that only the managers checked occasionally. Obviously this company does not care whatsoever about children, but exactly the opposite and lures them in with goods that most must go to a establishment that requires you to be 18+. I tried to get more info from her Boss, Brian Stone but he was on vacation. If you must be 18+ to view sex toys online then I feel their policies should be rock solid and require photo ID and scan or photograph that ID at every purchase. I urged her to contact the Attorney General and hop she does so. Shame on Spencers Adult Gift store for Children.

The worst slimy company ever. Will never give them another penny! Screw this place!
