terrible time to simply get through to case handle...

terrible time to simply get through to case handlers. they seem very cold and uncaring, takes two days to get a simple reply, will not send out time schedule (what's the big deal) and always quick to cover themselves and blame the client. same problem over again with communication. only find out at last minute no careworker showing up for christmas for example. always have to make repeated calls and vm's to simply speak with someone. an agency of this type should always have someone available to speak with. this is about health and safety of clients not about their constant lame excuses. if you have to leave vm with manager, they do not call back. how's that for professional service.

Worst agency to work for! As a PSW, the company does not care at all about their employees treating them like they do not matter at all. No benefits and bad pay. No respect and care for employees. Cheap agency. Also they will assign you clients after your day is done without asking you first. Disgusting. With this pandemic going on, everyday is like a battlefield working long hours with this agency but not a single dollar salary raise and still no benefits. Overall terrible agency. Will resign soon.

Great experience with Spectrum! The nurse who cared for my parent was caring, on-time, and went above and beyond to take care of my mother. Thank you for your dedication. This is a top-notch organization.

I used Spectrum for the first time based on these reviews. I needed a ride home from St Michael's Hospital after day surgery . The booking arrangements made were first class with all the right questions asked beforehand. The driver arrived right on time with a wheelchair as I was woozy, and accompanied me to my door to ensure that I was OK. The price and service were first class and I recommend to anyone else.

I applied for a job posting and got contacted for an interview. I needed a job and the lady who interviewed me said "perhaps you should go back to school" duh if had the funds don't you think I would go back. I need a job not a lecture as to what I should be doing instead. Two weeks go by and I never heard back. No phone call or email that they had gone with someone else!

Very disappointed with PSW provided, probably because Central East LHIN paid so Spectrum thinks they can rip off the government and provide lousy service to the client since the client is not paying. The PSW did not seem to understand that she was providing a service to my mom and should be making my life easier. I was driving her to her next client until she changed the time making it even less convenient for me so I stopped driving her. Shortly after that she decided she did not want my mom as a client since bus service to our house was infrequent. Spectrum does not supply accommodating PSWs. I don't think any of the Health Service Providers provide quality PSWs since there seems to be a shortage. They don't care about being on time since they think you are house bound and have nothing better to do than to wait around for them to come. Luckily my mom has me and we are not at their mercy. We decided that life is easier without the PSW but if you really need one and live in an area with poor public transit, ask for someone with a car.

Last night, a doctor and nurse from Spectrum came ...

Last night, a doctor and nurse from Spectrum came to our door after seeing my husband during the day. We did not want anything done that night as our family had met and created a plan for our husband and Dad.

We told the Spectrum doctor that we did not want anything done that night. The doctor told me if I shut the door on her and her nurse, she would call the Police and have my husband removed from our house.

I had to allow her in. My husband told her he did not want anything done that night but they went on and on about his pain, that they would not be back when he needed them and when I pointed out that he had told them he did not want it that night, they told me if I said one more word, they would call the Police and have me charged with neglect.

They then went on and accused me of not feeding him when in fact, he was fed every few hours and my children cancelled work to come and encourage him to eat.

My son took me for a walk and when we came back, that doctor had called an ambulance to take him to Toronto East General Hospital. My husband was ill and distraught from the conflict and apparently said he wanted to go to the hospital.

My husband was taken by 2 ambulance attendants out of our home, away from his family. It told them they were taking my ill husband without my permission. My husband was carried out of our home in the midst of this barbaric scenario.

The first nurse who came here gave me the impression that they would support our family's desire to use alternative means. My husband was given this treatment WITHOUT INFORMED CONSENT as outlined by the Canadian Medical Protective Association. It was undocumented and this is a violation of medical ethics.

My ill husband is being given the worst pain killer by IV so it absorbs into the fat - Fentanyl. The Ontario government has passed legislation concerning Fentanyl and this is a big secret to the public.

We live in a barbarism in Canada. Be forewarned that you may be facing prosecution if you disagree with this agency's policies.

The coordinator needs to be helpful and attentive when someone is requesting for assistance for week days and times. Please be polite and caring after all this is home health care for Seniors. Service is new for some families and these are families under a lot of stress.

Absolutely the WORST FOOT CLINIC VISIT EVER. Doesn't even deserve one star. I was unaware that Gordon Wai (who is one of the best Clinicians, ) was no longer with the company. This new person did not seem as though she'd had any previous formal training!!! Instruments didn't look as though they had been sterilized. My feet were not wiped with Alcohol as Gordon always had. Toe Nails were cut with a DRILL. NOT SCISSORS!! My Toe was BURNT with an OVER HEATED DRILL!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!.

Worst service ever. A bunch of Incompetent people running this service. This service was for my step dad to be transferred from one hospital to another. This company needs to be shaking up. I will advise people not to use them for transporting.

Worst experience of my life! Following cancer surgery, diabetic and a senior with profound mobility issues this is the LAST company you should ever go with! Care worker was lazy, never showed up on time and incompetent as basic requests such as grocery shopping!

Communication is non-existent. Find another company. Proof that you cannot pay people to care!

Steer clear of Spectrum.

Steer clear of Spectrum.

I would like to express my extreme disgust and disappointment in Spectrum's PSW services. We had a PSW, Emma, come in and out of our home for about a year. She would routinely show up late, leave early, and refused any additional requests that were within our rights (making conversation with my family member). She would often leave without saying goodbye, enter without saying hello, and declined our requests for conversation/emotional support during the time. On three separate occasions, she tried to convince my family member to give her more hours after LHIN provided us with more hours for care. We feel taken advantage of since she never stayed the full time.

I will not stand for this kind of behavior that is likely happening in other homes, likely without any witnesses. We have a recorded conversation between a family member and Emma where she became aggressive to us. I have left a few voicemails about this feedback to her supervisor, Lillian, and it seems like no accountability or disciplinary measures have been taken to ensure that this doesn't happen to other families like ours.

Incredibly disgusted by this experience, and we will be requesting a different agency to provide PSW services in the future, and sharing our experience with others so that other families steer clear of Spectrum.
