No kill shelter. Adopt and I guarantee your life will be better! Dedicated staff. Volunteer/donate if you have the means to the Erie County SPCA :)
A decent selection of dogs of varying ages, but we went to look at ferrets and they didn't have any. We were a little bummed but very happy to see the puppies. I was a bit surprised that there weren't more animals there.
Disappointed in the reception staffs attitude. Undoubtedly a very negative person and to project that on others who are coming in or whom have been there before adopted or looking with someone for their forever pet...just not a pleasant exper.
The girl summer who works at the front desk is extremely RUDE!!I watched her talk down to every person who walked in the front door today. If that is how you treat people I can only imagine how you treat the animals. The SPCA should be ashamed. That is what you have representing you when you walk in.I will never return and feel as though you make false promises to people when it comes to adoption. You put pets on TV and radio just to get business.I was given the wrong
Information about a dog and was told to come in and pay for her today. When I arrived today there were people already there trying to adopt the dog that I was told to come in and get today.Summer then opens the door and said the dog is a lottery.Summer then said to me and another lady we will not have people here fighting over the dog.First of all if they would have told me the dog was a lottery drawing I would have NEVER came to the SPCA today. I then watched Summer talk down to my friend and a 80yr old women.Summer tried talking to me like that but it didn't go so well for her.If you don't like your job then find a new one lady!! I am so disgusted with the Spca. This was my first time ever going to the Spca to adopt dog and it will be my last!!
Give MS. Ponzo back her dog. Whyvon the world would you remove a dog from loving home or not work with the owner? Absurd and idiotic practices.....
They took great care of my dog at a very sad time and were so nice. Really nice facility also. I know I'll be here when I'm looking for my next dog.
Very clean and looks like the animals are well cared for.
This place is amazing and everyone who works there is super nice
THANK YOU OFFICER AARON FOR YOUR RECOMMENDATION TO THE LIPSEY CLINIC. WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK STACI, SARAH, DR ALLISON O'TOOLE AND STAFF FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE FOR OUR DOG MIJA. OUR EXPERIENCE FOR THE THE FIRST TIME HAS BEEN A TRUE BLESSING AND WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL TO HAVE SUCH WARM COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE THAT CARE FOR THEIR CLIENTS. YOU ALL WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO HELP US OUT WHEN NO ONE ELSE WOULD. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR YOUR PROMPT ATTENTION MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL. THANK YOU ARNOLD LLAMAS AND ANNETTE RAMIREZ
They took 2 squirrels my son found so I was happy. Nice girls working there
wide variety of animals to see. the place if very beautiful and modern. great parking space.
Very helpful staff, decent selection of dogs and cats. Facility is pretty big, kept very clean
Picked out a little dog (My daughter picked and named him)
Wonderful place, I adopted a 4 month old puppy rescued from a puppy mill. Great new addition to our family.
I had an emergency after-hours they took me right in very satisfied
Didn't let us pet kitties, even though they said we could when we called.
Don t go here if you don t want to adopt a dog. Oh my gosh they are so cute that when you go in there, you HAVE to get one!
Been visiting since it opened waiting to fall in love with just the right pet for our family.. but everytime we go its ruined by extreamly rude volunteers. I don't understand how your going to volunteer somewhere and be rude to the people looking to adopt an animal. Most act like prison guards on a power trip.. except the wonderful helpful man who sits with the cats.. I wont be adopting ever from the spca after this last trip.. I'll pick an organization that actually loves the animals.. not the spca who seems to be only interested in making money off of them.
I adopted my dog from the SPCA almost three years ago at the old facility. I've been to the new facility and it's great. Don't shop, adopt from a shelter.
I am 11 years old and It was amazing at the spca because there was dogs and they seemed to be happy and well treated and actually that place was where I got my first dog it was a pitbull that had white spots she was 10 months and I think her name was Jenny I do not remember because me and my family changed her name to dareen. But then someone found out me and my family had a dog and told my landlord and then sadly my landlord did not allow dogs unless my mom payed 300$ extra to the landlord whenever she handed in the rent. My mom did not have a lot of money because she divorced with my dad but I still visit my dad just I don t get to see him as much as I used to. So now my mom works at UB to become a nurse so she can have money to take care of me and my three sisters. But since my mom does not have a lot of money she was not able to give 300$ extra whenever she handed in the rent. So then me and my family had to go back to the spca and ruturn my dog dareen and I was so so so so so so so so soooo sad. So then me and my family asked if the person who adopts dareen if me and my family could visit dareen and they said no. So to this day I miss dareen so much and I wish I could see her. So please whoever is reading this pleeese spred what I am saying and send it all over the world so people could help me some how see my used to be dog. P.S But I still say she is my dog to myself because I still want my dog to be in my heart.
Adopted my new dog Spencer a week ago. Love of my life.
Beautiful space. All the staff were kind, attentive and went above and beyond. I brought two strays in and they helped me with them tremendously. I was at a loss and was unsure what to do and they put me at ease as well as the two sick kitties. I am very grateful. It looks like they're going to make it after a very rough beginning to life!
Great facility. Volunteer showing us kittens was way more involved than necessary. It's hard to pick out a kitten when the volunteer keeps picking them up instead of you... Paperwork took FOREVER to complete but all animals were well cared for an generally happy.
Got my new son here. Clean, smelled good, friendly staff, no one rushed me to make a decision and were honest about his problems, so I could make an informed decision.
Nope, they are very scamming, they don't care for pets. They seeks money is all. They triced me on giving my dog up. I went there to surrender my dashhound, they say ok fill this out. A lady came out and asked to hold him, I picked him up and gave him to her. She side she will be back, she never returned for me to say my good by to him. They also tricked me to sign a part of the form were I can't get information on how he is doing. They played against my emotional state.
Honestly this was our first visit to the "new location". Although we have been to SPCA in past (old location) we were disappointed in the distance to get there and the lack of warmth and reception.
They had cute puppies!! Also more than just cats and dog that you can adopt
Beautiful clean facility with knowledgeable friendly staff. I feel confident bringing my k9 children here for medical care and should the opportunity arise, adopt my next pup from this facility!
Bigger than I thought. Has a gift shop!!! lol Plenty of cats! Sweet ladies!
Decided to make a monthly donation starting January 2018. They took it out twice. Called to have it corrected. Kept on hold forever. Finally left a message to return call to straighten out or will cancel. Couldn't be bothered so....... Will cancel monthly donation and go back to donating to Charlston animal society.
They spent d a lot of time instructing you on how to successfully being a cat into your home. I didn't realize the have a cat behaviorist on staff. Very helpful.
Only pitbulls and they stop notifying people when you're looking for a particular size such as small if it comes in.
Great new building, amazing staff, true dedication!
The SPCA is the shelter to go to if you want honesty, affordability, and great service. The volunteers are always friendly at the main shelter and are ready to help with anything you need, including always having up to date printouts on hand of their cats at offsite locations. The facility is also super clean and well maintained.
We adopted Rorschach the kitten from them and he is extremely friendly!! We are so happy the SPCA let us adopt when other shelters in the area discriminated against us for being a young couple. Thank you SPCA for letting us save a kitten!
The people who work here actually care about the animals
Pets for Vets. Got a beautiful puppy named him Capone. We are having a ball
Beautiful renovated building, wonderful friendly staff, and beautiful animals of course
I love the building but there are alot of volunteers that are in there. Not alot of dogs compared to their old building-which had more of a selection of dogs
Absolutely wonderful, the workers couldn't have been nicer or more helpful!!
Went to the spca and adopted two adorable senior cats and our first experience was amazing...then went back there hoping to do the same and the customer service provided by DEBBIE the volunteer and the rest of them was absolutely horrible. Almost makes me not want to go back. Went back again and was there to have my sick baby put down and Lynn s. At the admissions desk was not friendly either. I don t think I will be coming back here....
Had to turn in a feral cat who was paralyzed from the waist down I could not let the poor fur baby suffer I hope they tried to treat it
Got my kitty from them, nice clean place, pets are very well taken care of.
Staff was awesome and caring for all the animals and answered all my questions.
Very clean, not many animals this time which is good
They treat the animals very well and most have great attitudes
It's a beautiful place and the staff is very nice and compassionate...I took my dog to be put down and they made it ALOT easier on me by being so kind
I went there today to adopt a small animal. The staff was so friendly and helpful! I ended up coming home with a beardie that a lovely staff member just happened to mention to us. Thank you guys!!
It was a very clean environment but they had only like 4 dogs and all of them were not kid friendly
Love the new building with plenty of space for the pups wish more shelters were like this, although some staff are what you might call "doggy racist" and refused to let me get another female dog insisting its impossible for 2 female "terrier breeds" (english bull and american staffordshire) to live alongside one another and that they would just kill eachother and refused a meet and greet. Still more recomendable than the buffalo animal shelter. Hope's this helps
Very friendly staff, fast and courteous. First time there today and very happy.
Fed up with this place. I have done some sort of rescue for 20 yrs and they repeatedly turn you away.
During the cold of winter someone dumped 2 white pet rats who I caught after 2 days. They refused to take them.
Months later I found a seagull with an injured leg, and wing their wildlife was closed the number SUPPOSED to be manned during the night tells you to call AC or the police.
Neither who give a damn. And Neither does the SPCA they blow off animal issues regularly. Done trying with this uncaring place.
New building and very clean. Excellent signage and plenty of parking.
Awesome caring staff. Adopted a 4 month old beagle, hound mix. Great staff, volunteers, and experience. I love the new facility.
Clean. They take excellent care of the animals. The volunteers are all very friendly and helpful.
So disappointed. I brought my 8 year old parakeet to the SPCA to be euthanized because it was in respiratory distress and I didn't want it to suffer. The vet wanted between $80-110 to put it down. I brought the deceased home to bury it in the backyard only to discover it's neck had been broken. This, after I was told he went peacefully. So much for the humane treatment of animals.
love this place . please donate . i never realize how how they need . donate please . they even take small kids shirts
Seem to be very efficient. Clean. Animals have numerous, knowledgeable people caring for them in a caring atmosphere
Wonderful new facility. Staff and volunteers are always very friendly and helpful. The animals have much nicer accommodations than the old location which was showing it's age. Don't go to a breeder, adopt a pet in need of a good home. You can also shop at their store for pet related items to help support them.
