Haven t done the race yet but so far the organisation and registration process has been abysmal. Furthermore they are operating like its 1998 - asking for cash (no card payment options), requesting printed signed waiver forms instead of just letting us sign online as part of the registration process. Generally it s been a hassle to get registered and find out start times and other key details - disappointing for such an expensive activity. This is totally overpriced so far. I ll update this opinion after the race if it is warranted.
Update: ok the race day itself was actually quite fun, smoothly run and so on. It s only really the admin leading up to it that s incredibly inefficient and not customer friendly. I recommend the activity though, just grin and bear with the lead up process until they make it a nicer customer experience.

Obstacle races are something everyone should try. Spartan has the most options and it's a well oiled machine. If you see Joe Desena on course, by sure to give him a big hug. He loves those. These races motivate you to get into running shape and develop overall strength. Try them all. That way you'll know exactly how much you can hate a race and love it at the same time. :)
