Spa Junkie - FaceGym Review

DON'T GO HERE! A few years ago, I went to see their so-called "brow expert", Louise. She butchered my brows. I had nice brows and she waxed them off. My tails were gone and she gave me two thin pencil lines. I don't know if she still works here, but for a place that claims they don't do pencil brows, their expert was awful!! Avoid!

Spa Junkie is the best place for spa services! The treatments are top of the line and the staff are amazing. Everytime I go, I'm warmly greeted, by name, offered a drink, my coat hung up and offered a seat. I would highly recommend Spa Junkie to anyone looking for Spa Services!

I was really disappointed with their service. The salon is beautiful on the inside, but not only is the eyebrow waxing overpriced, she completely ruined my eyebrows! She took about 30+ minutes to wax them and took off way more than she should have! They were shorter from both ends and the gap between them was widened. I had to grow out my eyebrows for several weeks and had another place fix them. This was my first eyebrow service in Ottawa and I was extremely disappointed.

MONEY GRABBERS! BEWARE! I was a committed customer at Spa Junkie for FOUR MONTHS. I was on the loyalty plan where it's 5 Brazilians/Bikini, and the 6th one is free. After two services, I kindly explained to them that I only needed Brazilian service every 5 weeks, not 4 and they AGREED to stamp my loyalty card. They stamped my card four times. When it came to the 5th service, THEY REFUSED to stamp my card. When I asked why, they said the owner specifically said NOT TO STAMP MY CARD BECAUSE I CAME EVERY 5 WEEKS, NOT EVERY FOUR WEEKS. I explained to them that this was confusing since I had my card stamped 4 times already (and was clearly a committed customer), and I specifically talked to the owner on the 4th service and she was the one that stamped the card the 4th time. After making a fuss about it, they tried to contact the owner who did not get back to me when I asked for it to be stamped the 5th time. This shows me that the business owners ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY AND NOT ABOUT SERVICE since I was a DEDICATED CUSTOMER FOR 4 MONTHS. It's a shame as they lost a loyal customer and most of the girls here do amazing service, too bad they have greedy business owners that care more about the money than about providing good service to loyal customers. I will be reporting this business practice to BBB as well.

Louise was amazing! I was very specific about how I wanted my eyebrows shaped as I was trying to grow them out after a traumatizing experience of overly-threaded eyebrows! Not only did she listen to what I wanted, she delivered exactly that and more! My eyebrows looks amazing but there's still room for them to grow and shape out well! Looking forward to my next appointment :)

I got an eye lash lift & tint 8 months ago. The esthetician did a wonderful job, she was very professional and pleasant. The price was the best I had found !!!

Have been going here for years and I usually see Jessica. She is such a sweetheart and takes great care to get my brows looking immaculate. I also get my underarms sugared, which is an amazing alternative to shaving. I have not looked back at my razor since. Also, Alex at the front desk is amazing. She runs a tight ship and always remembers everyone's name. Such a great personal touch.

Amy is my favourite. She is an amazing person and fantastic at her job.

I have had sugaring experiences with several of the staff here over the past two years - and they have all been awesome! They truly understand how to make you feel comfortable and are happy to listen to/accommodate any requests or concerns. Truly superior client service!

I have been a loyal client of Spa Junkie since they opened and I have enjoyed every single service I have had here: Brazilian, brows, facial peel, eyelash tinting and all the wonderful Canadian made products in their boutique. The staff are what makes the spa the best in Ottawa: services are expertly done with the best results and the girls are the best people you will meet in the industry. I eagerly recommend Spa Junkie to anyone looking for an amazing and pampering experience.

11/10. I had a facial and brow shaping with Janine and all I can say is wow. First of all, an express facial is brilliant. 30 minutes of relation and the perfect timing if you ve got a busy day ahead of you. Skin care was customized to my needs and the product recommendations were so insightful. My brows are finally looking sharp again too . Thanks for the great service Janine!

This spa is the best. I'm glad it's near my work so I can get my treatments at lunch time. The staff is amazing and Alex (front desk) is always so pleasant and always greets you with a smile.

I've been a loyal customer at Spa Junkie for about 5-6 years now. Great service, great location, awesome staff and wonderful products.

Why go anywhere else? Don t make excuses, go see these ladies. They are THE best! Don t trust your body to anyone else. Free weekend parking, and low rate parking at the lot up the street on week days. The ladies are always friendly and knowledgeable about skin care. I can t say it enough. GO SEE THEM! Tell them I sent you, LOL

Spa Junkie is the place to go for brow waxing. I've tried a few other places that were cheaper but always regretted it and came back to Spa Junkie. The service is excellent and staff great. Thanks to them also for a recommendation on lash extensions, which goes to show they care a lot of their customers.

i love getting my brows done here. i work in salons and it's such a nice treat to be treated like a client. i hate plucking, and they're always super nice about it and make sure there's minimal plucking. the little brow massage is soo nice and they always have space for me last minute!

I have been in several times and have not had one single issue - the place is lovely and the staff are great when you arrive. Jen does a fabulous job and makes you feel terrific!

Spa Junkie is, by far, the best place for eyebrows. I am always greeted with a friendly face, and the receptionists are very kind. I've never gotten more compliments on my eyebrows than after Marie-France has done them. They are so considerate when it comes to skin sensitivity and the requests of the client.

The staff is super nice and the place is gorgeous. I went to get my full legs waxed, and once I got home I saw that there were a lot of spots that didn t get waxed properly or at all. I had to do the rest by myself... Just be sure you check after getting a wax done!

The first time I went to spa junkie I was optimistic. I had been traveling a lot farther to get my regular Brazilian sugaring services for almost a year and it was just becoming too far to travel with my busy schedule. My first expirience was relatively good and aside from the $78 price tag for a sugar (tax and tip included) all seemed well. I did notice the woman who did my sugar was much slower than my usual girl at another salon, maybe she s just not as experienced as my old place. I booked my second appointment within the 4 weeks on their reccomendation as they claim to have a discount if you book once every 4 weeks and every 6th visit is free. When I came back 4 weeks after my first appointment no one greeted me or asked to check me in as the cashier women were too busy chatting to notice me waiting. Once they were finished their conversation and noticed me they checked me in and had me sit to wait. They have a very small waiting area (3 chairs total) and it s much too busy a place for so few seats. Both times other customers had to stand waiting for their appointments. I had the same woman as the first time and she was pleasant enough, however she was very fake both times I saw her. She did the sugaring and it was the same price as the first time even though I was within the 4 weeks. After I got home I realized she had missed patches of hair and only sugared the obvious surface area. I noticed this was an issue in another girls review here who also received a Brazilian sugar. It is unacceptable to be paying just short of $80.00 for a Brazilian sugaring service that misses sections of hair and doesn t even attempt to get everything. On top of all that the cashiers were very snobby and completely unattentive. One woman did ask to hang my coat for me which I appreciate however this was the only attempt at fulfilling the service required for such a hefty price tag. After such a waste of time and money I had to be re-sugared just TWO weeks later at my old place Luxe Spa. I m sure Spa junkie will blame my hair for being too short at my appointment to get it all but anyone who sugars or gets sugaring services done knows that a salon shouldn t be able to do an entire Brazilian sugar on just two weeks worth of growth. Well low and behold Luxe was able to squeeze me in on short notice and got all the missed and disregarded areas effortlessly. I am so disappointed in Spa Junkie and the entire there. There is one good thing that came from all this, I will never waste another dollar there and instead will be returning to my old salon Luxe spa, they re much cheaper, faster, bigger, and everyone remembers who you are and is happy to see you. Above all else, they re kind and respectful, and no one is better than anyone else, the complete opposite to how you re made to feel at Spa Junkie. If possible just save yourself the heartbreak and money and go somewhere else.

Have been a loyal customer for years, having also referred several of my friends. I missed my first appointment ever because I was out of the country and could not call but my loyal service meant nothing.

The employees at this establishment are extremely snobby and rude. I was running about 5 minutes late for my 14 year old daughters eyebrow appointment and when I called them to let them know the girl said don t bother coming now . I was shocked!! I asked why she said we don t have time for people being late, we are just too busy !! Can you imagine?? I was flabbergasted! I was so shocked at her condescending tone of voice. Needless to say that my daughter was very sad
But I m a strong believer in that everything happens for a reason. We then found Amber at Serenity Spa in Barrhaven and she is AMAZING!!! . I have no time for rude people in my life anyway so it worked out perfectly

Always a nice atmosphere and very professional. Just remember to bring cash for a tip! I always forget.

Great service ! Went for my first Brazilian with sugaring ( I was terrified lol) the staff really knows how to make you feel comfortable..I have to say that the pain wasn't as nearly as bad as I thought...way less than waxing that's for sure! Everyone who works here are really nice. They sell jewelry and scarves as well. Very clean and modern inside, they did a good job too!

Although all of the estheticians are extremely consistent and I've had nothing but good experiences no matter who I was scheduled with, in particular this review is for Marie-France. I have been a loyal client of hers since the first time I was scheduled with her and she makes me feel more comfortable than any person has for these type of appointments. You need to feel comfortable for brazilians and Marie-France is professional yet it is always fun when I see her. She has a talent for talking at the right moments and knowing when you don't feel like it, and distracting you at just the right times so you don't notice the painful parts as much! I am consistently impressed with her investment in me as a person too and she always REMEMBERS details of the things we talked about last time (even though I myself might not even remember!). Such a sweet person and Spa Junkie is lucky to have her!

I highly recommend Spa Junkie for any of their services. Over the years I have seen several aestheticians here: Linda, Marie France, Anne, Maria, Jennifer and they have all given me fantastic expert service. I am a regular sugaring client and I have never been disappointed by their technique and results. I have also referred many friends here who have been equally impressed. I most recently tried their new last lift and tint service and I will definitely be back to do it again when needed, I have received many compliments on the results. I also saw Marie France for an express facial today which was very thorough and pampering and a great value for what you get. There is never any product push, but recommendations and samples offered if you are interested in the skincare. Alex and Ashley at the front desk are warm, welcoming and a great pleasure to deal with. I love the vibe of this spa and always feel comfortable there, there is no pretentious atmosphere like you find at some places. Spa Junkie has always gotten my 5 stars and I will continue to be a loyal client as long they are around!

I've been going to Spa Junkie for over a year and every experience has been professional and well done. The services I've done are waxing (Brazilian) and facial. I've worked with a few members of the staff and they are all wonderful! They care about their work. The environment is very clean and appointments are on time. I m new to spa junkie and have only been a client for the past few months. All the staff are professional and friendly. The spa is modern and clean. Would highly recommend :)

Was able to get in on short notice for eyebrow shaping and waxing. It was my first time at spa junkie. The place is very clean and bright. Lovely front desk staff, offered a drink while I waited. I had Marie France do my brows and she was excellent! Very professional and discussed what I wanted and what she could do for my brows. Service was quick and relatively painless. Will 100% return to keep my brows in good shape. Just keep in mind you can only tip with cash.

The staff here is incredible.
1. I booked my appointment for Friday night, expecting it to be dead, but they warned me that there were a group of women who come in from out of town once a month and stay to socialize after their treatments. I appreciated the heads up.
2. My knowledgeable aesthetician (Chelsea) recommended, based on my skin type, that I do a cheaper facial than what I signed up for. Also appreciated.
3. At the end of my appointment (my skin looked amazing)...I went to pay and they gave me 25% off to say sorry for the noise. VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!

Fady has been cutting my hair since June 1983 ... almost 30 years. He has the skill and the experience I value and over the many years I have always been more than satisfied with his service.

And when he is too busy (everybody loves him!), I trust my hair to Lizz, who also is wonderful. It is great to know and experience how much she has learned from Fady.

My wife and my son get their hair cut at Fady's, and our son has converted some of his friends as well.

Went here for a brow wax and a first-timer's Brazilian. What a great little joint! My brows are completely on point (they give you a little brow massage too which was a nice surprise) and I love the shape. The Brazilian was uncomfortable (which is to be expected when someone is ripping your hair out), but Nina made me feel completely at ease and was fun to talk to. I'm glad I chose sugaring because it truly did reduce the discomfort of the procedure on my skin. I'll definitely be in for a follow-up!

I have been a client of the Spa Junkie for quite some time and I absolutely love this spa for many reasons. Alex has been there since I can remember and she is usually the one who greats you when you first arrive. She is always pleasant and always smiling. I currently see Marie-France and she is very professional, friendly and easy to talk to. She always makes me feel comfortable. The spa itself is super clean, modern looking and very welcoming. Upon arrival, they provide you with slippers if needed and offer you a beverage. I also like the atmosphere of the spa, its cleanliness and its vibe.
The spa has a small boutique which sells nice jewelry, purses, etc. and they receive new items regularly. The spa also carries various skincare products. The fact that it s located near my place of business is simply an additional bonus. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this spa to anyone. You only need one visit and you'll be hooked.

The service requested and booked was not provided but they also tried to charge me for it. The location is nice and the staff are friendly but not at all acceptable provision of services. I am quite sour I spent the effort to park and wade through bad weather and will have to rebook and pay someone else to to do it this week. Don't recommend.

Got a brazilian sugar waxing today, and the woman who did it for me was so polite and made great conversation. She made sure that I was comfortable and even offered to take small breaks before waxing another spot. For my first time, it was great and I'm definitely planning on going back for another. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Been here before but I usually go as a last resort when my regular place is fully booked as it is more expensive. I only get brazilian sugaring can't say anything about other services. This time would be my last. Not only was it 78$ for a brazilian sugaring compared to the 50$ I pay for maintenance at my other spot but the sugar artist pretty much just missed all the hairs that weren't on the shallow surfaces. I paid close to double what I usually would for half the job. Will not be coming back.
