Sovereign Staffing Group Review

Was terminated from the job they hired me for but that wasn't the problem. The problem was with payroll discrepancies in which they adjusted on another paycheck resulting in a higher tax deduction. They also informed me that they mailed my paycheck when in fact they didn't and misinformed me of how my final check would be received- direct deposit vs mail. Now in attempt to contact them to obtain a letter of termination and final pay stub, I keep getting their voicemail and no one will call me back. The receptionist doesn't even seem familiar with the account manager names as she asked me who the individual is.

Firstly, we were lied to about becoming permanent employees by automatic rollover when hours were up. If you need to speak to anyone at soverign you must make time to drive to their location because they don't answer the phone, nor do the return calls or reply to emails. When we drove 20 miles because we couldn't reach anyone by phone, it was met with attitude. Definitely do not recommend. Eta: our paystubs show we were paid on 8-4-2020, yet we have not received our pay.

They screw with your pay check and they keep saying that they'll put more hours on your next paycheck. They scam you and leave you with empty promises. DO NOT GO HERE LOOKING FOR A JOB!!!!

I was just hired with Sovreign Staffing Group. My experience has been wonderful. They are a very caring bunch. My interview wasn't stressful at all. Plus the job searching process was easy. They are a great bunch and I would reccomend them to anyone that is seeking a job. It is a pleasure working with them. Also My recruiter was so awesome, she was very professional and kind and really enjoys helping.
If you need a job, they are the people that will help you get it.

They are unbelievable. After starting 2 weeks ago. And them having my direct deposit info for 3 weeks. They tell me it takes them that long to set up my deposit. And after them continue to try to lie about me being told the first one was mailed I walked out. And will never return to a God forsaken hell hole of a company!!!

Sovereign is a wonderful place to go to when looking for employment. They place you at a company promptly and are very well known in the area. It seems to me that they know what they are doing and care about their employees/temps.

When it comes to payment I have never had an issue. They say payday is Monday and I have never had a late or incorrect paycheck. Will that happen at times? I m sure because this company is ran by humans so they cannot be perfect at all times but I personally have never had an issue.

Dallas is a very knowledgeable recruiter and was able to answer every question of mine and provide any information I needed. He showed up to my first day and introduced me to the people I needed to know and made sure I felt at home at my new job.

Overall, working with sovereign has been nothing but a pleasant experience. If I need employment in the future they will be my first call. 6 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended.

If your on drugs, or a felon then theu will put you to work. Their contract says if you quit or get fired for any reason (which they are NOT required to tell you why) they keep $200+ from your final check. Also tell you after 2 months you will get a raise from less than $10/hour to almost $15/hour, then fire you right before this amazing raise is yours. They attempted to bribe me to bring my buddies in with $1 dollar bills. There is a reason they are looking for 40+ employees right now!!

The worst agency I have ever worked for, Inconsistent in every aspect and totally unprofessional. If there was a rating less than 1 star they have more than earned it. This coming from someone who never gives reviews on anything.

Sovereign is a fantastic company. I have worked for them for a few months now and have had a purely positive experience. Just yesterday I switched payment forms from physical check to direct deposit and I was anticipating a long process, however to my pleasant surprise it took me less than 3 minutes because the staff at Sovereign were focused on helping me knew exactly what they were doing. This is but one example of the absolute professionalism that Sovereign operates with.

They had a job offer for me and the day I went for orientation i was sent back back due to the big amount of poeple. I had a job I just want to try that one out

Completely unprofessional n r not reliable for money u work hard for. Have the places in the city doesn t want to cash their checks because they owe multiple different places money for checks that bounce. DONT WORK HERE U WILL REGRET IT

They are awesome at finding jobs quick and Shelby Allen is an awesome Recruiter. Also she is an agent that goes out of her way to help find the right job for you.

This agency doesn't even deserve a negative 5 star rating. Check was supposed to be mailed out last Monday and I still have no check. After reading these reviews I wouldn't be surprised if i NEVER receive 1 at all. BAD people. I'm just lucky it was only a stop gap experience many others aren't as fortunate.

I would've loved to give this company five stars based off of Lisa's (recruiter) initial interaction. However, due to the complete lack of fluidity and the unprofessionalism of Theo (manager), I was reluctant to even give one star. I only got to work for Sovereign for two days before they illegally discriminated against my disabilities and sent me home early on my second day. Now let's go back a little bit. We were scheduled for orientation at 10 am on July 19th. After arriving at 9:40, it was clear this day was going to be a cluster filled headache. They were having issues getting everyone checked in an situated, but it would get worse. During the orientation, their presenter Felicia kept stating over and over again phrases that are reminiscent of things I tell my children when they are in trouble. She spoke to us as if we were toddlers, then incorrectly scheduled our first day at work. She told 30+ of us to not start the next day (which was the day we were originally scheduled to start work), but on Tuesday instead. Needless to say, not even 24 hours later, Lisa is calling me telling me that I missed my shift (everyone else did as well). Several of us asked about making up those hours, and they merely laughed at us. Now, fast forward to July 21st, our first official day at work. Sovereign schedules you to work at the Walmart Distribution center, which works you 12 hours straight, giving you merely a 15 minute and a 20 minute break. No lunch breaks at all. So I worked my first day, sharing my salads with another employee I had briefly befriended. All in all, it was an alright day. So the next day, I get up at 3 am to get ready to leave by 5 am. Had a 1 hour drive to the DC. So I get there and start working. 2.5 hours later, I ask to speak to the manager to find out why I couldn't have more totes (as I explained to them that the stroke I had last year makes it harder to get only 2 totes with one item in each, walk back across the warehouse, empty them, get more, etc). As I am bringing up my valid concerns, I get brushed away like plaque on a Sunday morning. They cut me off, then basically kick me out of their office. I went to head back to work, and Theo informs me he wasn't letting me finish the day. He took my badges and walked me to the front door. He never tells me I am fired, till 8/2/19. From 7/21 to 8/2, I called daily to get an update. Theo absolutely refused to talk to me, and had Lisa blow me off every single time. So I finally called Walmart. They had HR walk over to the Sovereign office and MAKE Theo call me back. He proceeds to tell me that I am not a "cultural fit" for Walmart and that he won't be letting me return. Worst part? They screwed us all out of hours we spent at Orientation. They gave us 4, when we were there for 6, and some of us 8 hours. It has been a week since that check was issued and they are refusing to fix it for the accurate amount. Today is payday again, so I call corporate payroll, and they say they will try to get a response from Theo confirming those hours. On top of that, they won't let me come up there and get my check(s). I am completely appalled that they could treat a single disabled mother this way. And all because I asked for more responsibility. This is my first and last experience with a temp agency. These people should rename their company. Sovereign implies integrity. Strength. Shady Staffing would be more appropriate.

Never work for sovereign haven't been paid in 4 weeks. Every week i call they say they need more information and I say wait until next Monday

Man, these people does not live up to the meaning of their name. Unless, their conceited. This staffing agency does business with no accountability or value. Many people who work for them feel as if their just another number. I've never worked for such an unorganized agency..smh.

Administrative Actions for Withholding Salary

Both state and federal government agencies enforce wage and hour laws. If your employer improperly withholds your salary, you can file a complaint with either the federal Wage and Hour Division or a similar state agency.

Once the government agency receives your complaint, it will investigate your claims. If there are violations, you may recover back wages and liquidated damages. Depending on your situation, it may negotiate a settlement on your behalf or the government may pursue a lawsuit against your employer.
Civil Lawsuits for Withholding Salary

You may also have the right to file a civil lawsuit against your employer, demanding compensation for your lost wages. However, you cannot file an administrative complaint and a civil lawsuit at the same time. (Once the administrative claim is closed, you can file a lawsuit as long as you are within the statute of limitations.)

In a civil lawsuit, you can recover your unpaid wages and liquidated damages. Additionally, your employer may be responsible for your attorney fees and litigation costs.

Criminal Cases for Withholding Salary

If the government believes your employer willfully violated wage and hour laws, it can file criminal charges. If convicted, your employer may face jail time and significant fines.

I worked at sovereign a few times now. Mostly i've had no complaints. They are friendly and profesional. my pay has been on time for each job position i've worked at. Lots of diff jobs to choose from to. 10 star!!!

Theodore and Lisa were Stealing from walmart distribution Center in alliance and Sovereign staffing from people's checks. There could be more thieves working there. Haslet Fort worth area.

Worst staffing company I've ever worked for. Didn't pay overtime hours 2 weeks in a row (with no resolution). Switched pay dates. Also had to pick up checks for 4 weeks in a row (hour and half drivw each time). Also very rude when I called to try and fix the issues at the office in olathe.

This place has shown care and respect for their employees. Good place to work for and with.

Walked in and talked to Kyle. He made the process of getting me into the right job fast and easy. Great place to go if you want to feel like more than just another warm body.

Things were a little confusing at first.. but i had no problems with sovereign staffing . My check was always right.. i needed a job and they helped me get there.

Terrible. Was told to be at orientation the night before, I got there and the people at the warehouse didn t even know our group was coming had no start date for any of us, was told by people at orientation and my recruiter that we would be getting a check for orientation within 2 weeks. Then I check back in every week for 3 weeks still no start date and was told someone must have forgot to mention we have to be with the company for 30 days to get paid for orientation and that she didn t know what else to tell me.

Very unprofessional. Tell you to follow email but tells you something totally different. Threaten to fire you over text messages. The Vice President Dallas is unprofessional and disrespectful. Think twice.

Dont work for sovereign at the walmart location in fort worth texas. Walmart great and professional company but sovereign no! Ryan when he is there is the only one who gets things done and answers questions to the best of his knowledge. We were pose to get paid monday as of tuesday morning still no checks and sean and the others have the nerve to be mad because the workers are wanting their pay. I have been working for them for 5 months seen 5 different teams. They are very rude but wants respect in return i wouldnt recommend this on-site to nobody.

I've experienced constant issues with payroll. The communication between the jobsite and Sovereign is horrible. Every time I've called the lady who answer the phone is rude. They just tell you anything to get you out the door, minimal effort to help resolve any concerns or issues you may have.

I would highly recommend Sovereign if you are looking for a good paying job without jumping through hoops to get it. Shelby was my recruiter, and is always friendly, helpful, and ready to answer any questions I have. Anyone looking for work in Fort Worth I would defiantly choose Sovereign.

I will be honest, I am an account manager at Sovereign and know this company from the inside out AND I have worked for them in a temporary position on a warehouse assignment.

I read tons of reviews before starting employment and continue to read through them. The statements about non-payment are simply not true. People will work a day, call us the next day and throw a fit when it takes them 2 weeks (as it does anyone) to get paid. The people we sometimes hire and find placement for don t always understand the processes we must go through in order to provide the best service possible. At Sovereign, me and almost all other account managers and recruiters work really hard to provide jobs to people in need.

The hard workers that stick to assignments and give us the benefit of the doubt when paperwork gets turned around (as it sometimes does) or otherwise are the ones who do well. Those that work 4 days and expect a paycheck on day 5 are the ones throwing fits and leaving 1 star reviews.

We work really hard and provide employment for thousands of people. This company is a good company and it has my highest respect. Patrick Audley (the National Sales manager) works harder than anyone I know to find strong talent and put them in positions they will last. I am thankful to report to him.

My boyfriend and I both work with Sovereign. Sonya is out recruiter and she s rude and unprofessional. We ve been working with them for over 2 weeks now and have yet to get our first paycheck. We were told our paychecks were ALREADY in the mail on the way to us.. then a couple days later she had texted saying we needed to do some type of paper work that she had sent to our email in order to get our pay cards .. but yes I thought they were already in the mail THEN a couple days later I got a call and she told us to come in the following Monday Feb 15th to come pick up our paychecks in the office... it s not Monday Feb 15th and I ve been trying to contact her for our paychecks but she s been very rude. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM. The whole staffing place is a scam!!!

I ve worked 52 hours for the week of August 3rd 2020 & was supposedly able to receive my check via Email since the last paper check didn t come to my household. It s been 14 days & I haven t received any update as to when I can actually receive my check or if my check has been cashed or not. I ve been ignored for too long about something I ve worked very hard for & not gotten. Plus, I pay rent weekly & I almost got evicted out of the place I was in.

They owe me money for orientation from this month and I was supposed to get this wk and never received it and I m in texas because they sent me to a Walmart warehouse job with hundreds of people there and was told we all get paid for 7 hrs of orientation at the warehouse that took 8-9 actually not 7 they said!!!

This is a great company to work for! I've never had any issues and everyone has always been very helpful and professional. I would recommend working here to anyone who's looking for a good reliable job.

This place is the worse recruiting agency there is. They will tell you different things than the employer such as show up at 7:30 for training days and the employer actually wanted you there at 7. Also they claim to charge you $200 if you decide to quit without notice, which is entirely illegal so DO NOT let them do this. They won't even tell you who the employer is until you're on board. I asked them who I'd be working for and they told me they couldn't release that information. Last but definitely not least they will hold your checks hostage if things don't go their way. If I don't get those on Monday there will no longer be a sovereign staffing. Staffing agencies are all normally not the way to go but this one is a new level of low.

Never been paid, it is a fraud and scam agency!!!! They owe me 5 months for a paycheck. Definitely will sue and I m sure there s more people that are being robbed as well for their hard work. They will tell you they paid you and enter incorrect information without your consent.

I went in and they had excellent customer service and they found me a great job making more money then I've ever made at a staffing agency. I started working the next day. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a job fast.

After working for this company for nearly 4 months I can confidently say it has been a phenomenal job and experience. Dallas (my recruiter) answered all of my questions even after I was hired on and helped me with any problem or question I had. Just do your job and be a good worker and you will not have any problems at all. I haven t had one problem with the checks I ve been receiving. These people become very rude and angry once they can't get you to work. When they want to work. They hang up phones in people's faces and are always pushing 11hr for every job they offer. They seem to always be looking for people to work at Jet. I would not recommend due to the type of customer service skills the recruiters have. Being in more professional people and maybe you all would be able to keep people.

Scam company. It's been 3 days since payday and nobody I know has recieved their payments. Legitimately starving because of this company and their unethical practices.

I work with Sonya, and she's been absolutely gentle with me, yet fierce with finding me employment. She's not missed a beat.

And the other staff, when I come in, are smiling and attentive.

I know others have had issues with Sovereign Staffing Company, but I've not encountered a one...not in treatment by staff, not in finding employment, not in payroll...no problems here.

That might depend on each individual who comes in, and THEIR attitude, bit Sovereign has treated me well.

I would continue to recommend Sovereign (And Sonya) as a great employment agency to work with.

If you want to get paid for your hard work dont choose this agency. My wife worked for 12 hrs and 2 hr orientation but she found better job that worked with our families schedule and its been roughly a month and still hasn't been paid for her hard work. Every time she calls for her pay she gets the run around and still hasn't been paid. Also everything she calls they call her a liar very unprofessional and rude to her even though she has her punch in and lunch out card that proves she worked.

This place is horrible. They are completely incompetent and rude. After a few phone calls and submitting my resume, I was called in for an interview for a position that "desperately" needed to be filled. When I actually arrived at the office, I was suddenly underqualified and "not a good fit" for the position. I suspect the obvious. I never heard from this ridiculous agency again. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Dana Jensen is the best recruiter out there! She is constantly available for help throughout the day and truly cares about each individual she works with. She definitely deserves a promotion or raise of some sort if she keeps it up!!!

My recruiter is Josh Hartman. He s amazing to work with! I ve never used a service like this before. Before I was done filling out paper work he came to find me and bring me into his office to jumpstart me into the position that best fit my needs. In less than an hour I was at a company interviewing for a position. I had a few concerns that would hold me away from finding a new position due to my past history. Working with Josh, he put my mind at ease and got me a job, no problem! I have to leave 5 stars after working with him! Thanks again to Sovereign Staffing and Josh! I would recommend to anyone in need of work with a good rate of pay.

Unprofessional, unorganized, managers and office assistants don't know how to communicate with each other. I went almost two months if not more without receiving my $1 per hour for working S5 Shift and still haven't received anything. Now I found out that they took $25 out my last check.. Theo excuse was that it was taking out my check for not working 90 days and once they found out I worked over the 90 days now the excuse is I didn't give a week notice. Who would want to stay with a company that has all these problems and can't get your pay correct. It's a lot of confusion and they want you to email payroll if something wrong with your check and play this waiting game with payroll. They have you drive 30-40 minutes away to pick up your check from a hotel room.

It has been a week since they mailed out my check and I have still not received it. There is absolutely no urgency or give a damn to trying to help fix the situation. The might fight to get ya but they sure don't care about you once your in their system.
