Horrible customer service, they deny ALL claims and you have to call in for almost every SINGLE claim, not to mention the wait times for their customer service department are horrific. I have been on the phone for over 15 minutes on hold and I haven't even spoken to someone yet. All your hear is a recording saying "your queue position is first" over and over again. Their service is so bad that our local union actually had to have a separate hearing/meeting for everyone that wanted to voice complaints. Reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as they are basically scamming customer's out of the coverage they pay for.

Beware!! I cannot wait to start to gather my fellow Union Members together to Stop this company from handeling our Pension Fund!! The Customer Service people are Rude! They say they don t have enough help to handle the load of Union Members requesting their Pensions. I will right to whom ever I have to & I will gather signatures asking them to Stop using this company!! I ve been dealing with them since February, this is June & still No $$. Absolutely Unacceptable!!!
Website is always down and you cannot speak to anyone without an audit number from their website or fax. Never got any of my 7 fax requests and cannot reach a Rep.
Awful insurance.. Switched over to these guys after union changed from jas. I would highly recommend not dealing with swsa if you have the opportunity. I have sent multiple of the same papers they are requesting by fax/mail and somehow they never get it. Wait time for customer service is always a long wait. They have you call on almost every bill and you have to force them to take care of it. But there's also always a 3week review period so you have to call back again and hassle with them. Very disappointed, if I could I'd go back to JAS insurance because they were always helped and quick to answer.
TERRIBLE, claims get sent back undeliverable, and they refuse to answer the phones to let providers know what the patient benefits may be
I wish I could rate this company as a -(NEGATIVE) Trillion but I have to give it a star just so they will post it. This company is the worst at claims, customer service, and extreme not so prompt payments to my providers. They have denied every claim and come up with excuses why they cant pay it. Lie to my providers about why they wont pay. And I have to call and re-submit documentation when I have been "insured" and I use that term sooo loosely for almost 2 years. I sure hope the Teamsters 104 wise up to how bad these people treat their workers and their family's. My dog has better insurance and her policy covers more than this slap in the face joke of a policy.
I would strongly discourage patients and providers from being contracted with this company. As an employee for a providers office; I have come to discover that there is no customer service or integrity. The provider's line; does not return calls. The escalation line; does not return calls nor address the problem at hand. I've even gone as far as contacting corporate and was told by the operator that they would have to transfer me to the claims department because "corporate does not handle these type of calls; it is not in their job description." I have tried multiple times to reach someone to solve problems with claims for multiple patients and have gone months without a resolution. As a result, it brings our office to close the claim and submit a bill to our patients to have to deal with themselves. As a contracted provider; it's frustrating to have to make our patients deal with the hassle when there should be a customer service department to rely on to handle these issues. What is the point of being in a contract with a company that does not want to help their partners? Their members? I hope that if this matter can't get solved through the providers line or escalation line that at least a member of the board can read this review and know that the company isn't addressing the issues at hand and making not only their members feel un-easy, but making their providers have to go in circles and get no where to help their patients. I hope this company finds it's integrity again and can become professional in matters to be able to be equipped to have a stronger customer service department.
The service they offer for dental providers is terrible. The online web portal is a joke! and then after you go thru hoops to talk to some one, and the "audit number" they are still NO HELP, the customer service rep couldnt even tell me anything and then when I asked to speak to a supervisor she said that they couldnt tell me anything different!!!!!! total JOKE no help at all.
Horrible company. Still hasn t processed a pension claim that was applied for 7 months ago, well past the 90 days they said it would take. Every phone call results in a version of the check is in the mail lie! What can I say that hasn t already been said about lack of customer service, lack of integrity, lack of professionalism by so many reviewers? Simply horrible. I also suspect they are having their own people seed positive ratings with NO explanations in order to boost their pathetic review score!
It administers insurance programs for unionized organizations. The system for checking in to seeing someone is long and dated.
Southwest Service Administrators provider portal is the absolute worst, it rarely works. Their system for obtaining ANY information is absolutely insane and extremely inefficient for Dr offices. You are forced to go through a trudge of questions only to receive an audit number and THEN you can call and be on hold until you can talk with a representative. This is by far the worst Insurance we deal with for provider service and support. The only reason for the 1 star is I have to at least enter 1.
Very unprofessional employees when you are trying to follow-up on a claim. Rep refused to let me speak with a supervisor by telling me my situation didn't warrant a supervisor. Once I demanded she placed me on hold and what do you know she transferred me to a voicemail that was full! Horrible customer service for medical providers
I have been trying to get my Pension, that has been owed to me, for over a year! I'm now taking it to the Union President, and BBB. Have attempted 3 times to speak with a Supervisor, and she is ALWAYS "Unavailable."
I no longer get to use my doctor because you decided to change a great insurance company to cigna which my doctor is not on. I hate going to the cattle call doctors. Cattle Call doctor " I am sorry we can not see you about that spot on your foot we are only covering the cough today. Please make another appointment for that." Why should I have to go to a place like that ever. I didn't ask to change from blue cross you are making me. I shouldn't have to pay more to go see my regular doctor or make him join cigna cause of you guys. This is another reason I hate obama care!!!!!!!! Not feeling like our best interest is being looked at. My husbands work went to cigna and now they are back at blue shield blue cross. Why are you doing this?????? It is not good and you are not working for the people who support you. You are just like the government.

They have taken months to process my claim and give me my money. *update* They finally "processed" my claim to send it to further review. I don't understand why they can't process two cavity fillings! I am convinced they are trying to keep my money. I ask them why it's taking so long and I can't get a damn answer! If I don't get one on Monday, I will be going up there and I better be leaving there with a check.

I came to check out the reviews and I'm not surprised at how BAD they are. This place is the worst. Nobody has answers, they'll direct you to another person 2 or 3 times and no manager or anyone will talk to you to find out more information. I was denied a claim recently because my "Briefly describe the incident" portion of the paperwork was apparently TOO BRIEF compared to the doctors note submitted. I have a broken dominant hand and I literally described the incident BRIEFLY and they directed me to about 3 other people to tell me that my claim is denied without asking any further questions. I spent about a month and a week trying to solve all of this paperwork. I've submitted fax after fax after fax and they keeps telling me that such and such needs to be submitted and I'm like I DID THAT ALREADY. "OH. let me transfer you to this person who also has no idea what they're doing"..... I get a call back with the most b/s excuse I've ever heard because my "Briefly describe the incident" portion wasn't 100% to what the doctor office clerk wrote. Ridiculous. In 2016 I had a kidney stone and I jumped through thus many hoops only to be denied last time. I'm writing a review this time because these people have no idea what they're doing.
When I've taken proper steps with my healthcare as instructed on forms or notices, I've never had an issue whether it be my claims being processed or questions needed answering.
Trying to collect my pension which they are now the administrators of. The staff is rude not helpful. They will not talk to me by phone told me in a letter any correspondence will be done by mail and they will respond within 30 days. Wrote them a letter over 30 days ago and still no response . Call today on hold for 15 minutes only to hear that there s nobody available to help me. I asked to speak to a manager there are no managers available. I asked to speak to somebody above manager was told there s nobody here available to talk to you leave your number will call you back within 24 hours. Not acceptable. IBEW 769 bad move going to this group.

Terrible company! I have been trying to get on my husbands insurance for over a month now. Turned in all the paperwork over a month ago and called to make sure it was all there. They said it was. Two weeks later I called again to make sure we had everything because I hadn't heard anything from them. They said everything was taken care of. The first of the month rolls around (which is when my coverage was supposed to start) still nothing so I called again and they said it hadn't been processed yet but they would get to it quickly. Another week and a half goes by and I called again and they still have not processed it but this time they cant tell me any other details because I am not on the policy. So my husband calls and evidently we didn't sign one spot on the paperwork. So, instead of letting us know so we could get this taken care of before my coverage was supposed to start, they let it lap for two weeks and we had to call several times before we got an answer. Don't even waste your time with them.
I can NEVER get a hold of a customer representative. Longest I've waited to be spoken to was 45 minutes, even then I couldn't speak to anyone.
I was working there and found that they dont know how to train people and when they do train they rush to put you on the phones. When you get one call that gets miscommunicated they start to train you again with all different people that teach and train different ways. I think this place would be a good place if they just had a way to train there reps the right way.
This is the worst insurance company I ve ever had being in a union. No one knows what they are doing and say I m going to send it back to be processed because they don t even know what the codes mean. I hope the union gets together and find a different company because these people are incompetent. They never call you back and I never receive any documents explaining why they aren t paying my claims. They charge me copays that shouldn t be charged for dental cleanings for my child! I wish I could give a negative review they don t even deserve 1 star.
Southwest Service Administrators is a third-party payor. However, they act like it's all their money, so they take FOREVER to process claims! They stall, they say that they have not received the claim or some document, even though you have proof that the fax went through. The only way to get their attention is to go in person. I'm so glad we no longer have to deal with them!!
