Took a mint condition Subaru there for registratio...

Took a mint condition Subaru there for registration. Tried to tell me it had an oil leak and that it was on the side of the Boxer engine where it had to be taken completely out to replace the gasket before they could green slip it. There was only a slight pressure weep, and they wanted to charge me $4000.

I pointed out there was no oil leak that would disqualify registration and I would take it to another shop for registration.

Then they got back to me and said they would sign it off so long as the box was ticked on the green slip the car was not for sale. They should have said that in the first place, but tried to push the work through first.

I got my green slip and took it to an independent Subaru specialist to fix the gasket. Not only did they do the gasket AND the timing belt for $1100 less than what Southside wanted for just the gasket, they identified that the leak was on the side where they did not have to take out the engine.

Southside was either lying outright or completely incompetent.

Have purchased 2x new and a demo vehicle over 2 years from Southside Toyota Woolloongabba and having a number of issues on the 3rd (new) vehicle. These guys are everything, but helpful. All they care about is getting a sale. Even after complaints through Toyota guest experience still nothing. Stay clear of this Carzoos lot!

Had our Prius car towed to Southside Toyota Servic...

Had our Prius car towed to Southside Toyota Service after it broke down. This was 3 months after it had had a major service there at a cost of over $1000 ($500 for all 4 new tyres). This time they had the car for a week before giving a diagnosis that the inverter, the small battery and everything around it needed replacing at a total cost of $5000 - over $900 of which was labour. We decided to have it towed to another mechanic. Southside Toyota charged us $360 for the diagnostics they'd done, and didn't even hand over the full diagnostics sheet - said it was propriety IP of Toyota. Our new mechanic said when he picked our car up it was still in pieces (appalling) and he spent hours putting it back together. He sourced a good second hand part with long warranty within hours and is charging us $1000 - including all diagnostics, labour and parts. The small battery is fine. He will have the car fixed in a day. We will NEVER use Southside Toyota Service again. You're paying for a lot of middle men and not much expertise. - Also - thanks for the corrections SST - makes little difference to the shameful, expensive service you provided.

I had a service and some of the work carried out that was not up to scratch. However, Toyota corrected the issues alongside refunding the costs of the work carried out, refunded some fuel costs (as a result of my multiple visits) and detailed the car. Thanks for taking such a professional approach and rectifying the issues.

Reasonable service cost by professional staff using genuine parts & quality lubricants eg fully synthetic oil. The service desk is manned by qualified consultants ready to assist you and manage the progress of your treasured Toyota. DON T GO THERE!!!
They don t know how to fix a car I came in for them to fix my toyota prado 3 weeks ago and they can t do it properly... because they don t know how to fix a car... So after 3 weeks I picked up my car that is still making the same noise but they don t even know where it s coming from.. somewhere in the engine they told me. Haha what a joke is this place... please find an other proper garage for your car.

I live quite far away but used Toyota Southside twice for my old 2003 Rav4 car.

A few years ago I had taken it to a local mechanic as it had transmission issues. They told me it needed a completely new transmission, and it would take up to two weeks to get all required parts from Toyota and get it all fixed. Wanted a second opinion I took the car into Toyota Southside to see what they would say, and see how quickly they could fix it, given they would have the parts there.



A few weeks I had the same transmission issue again. Before they even did the inspection I discussed the issue with their engineer (TW). He was up front before they started doing any work on it and told me, given the history of the car it would now have to get the transmission changed, there was no other cheaper fix. Given it was an old and tired car, I then decided to give to finally scrap it and get a new one.

My rating above is based on the fact they managed to bring life into my old car the first time even though they had said it was likely not to work, and the second time around they gave me full advise before charging me anything, instead of taking my money for an inspection and then giving me the bad news afterwards which a less reputable service garage might have done.

Full marks to TW and the team at SouthSide Toyota.

My car went in under the Takata airbag recall and ...

My car went in under the Takata airbag recall and my car came back with the dash lifting. I took it back to be told my dash is warped and will cost a couple of grand to fix. The dash was fine before I took it in now it is rooted thanks to these guys. The young girl at the front counter could also try smiling and welcoming clients. DISGUSTING TOYOTA - STEER CLEAR AND GO ELSEWHERE

Prior to service I made a specific request not to ...

Prior to service I made a specific request not to rotate tyres as this had just been completed. This was noted on service sheet. During service tyres were rotated - they are now back to where they had just been moved from. Now I have to move them again. I would not return the car to let the service center have another go! This is typical of my experience with Toyota service - for example the cargo barrier that was installed backwards. Based on these experiences I have serious concerns about whether critical service checks and actions are adequately completed.

My car makes noise in speed bumps and also I have to do service also, I left my car ,after few hours later they called me and said rear brake pad need to be change, I said if that noise came from that changed it, they charged 550 dol, but still noise was not fixed,they told me to bring car again and they will have a look, after few minutes road trip they said that noise came from front, they said if I want to fix that again I need to pay 90 dol labour charge plus money for what I need to change, not recommended, bad experience,

My family and I were staying in for the weekend in Brisbane when the air con on our car (still under warranty) died. We were headed home on the Monday and rang ahead to see if there was any chance we could get it looked at so we wouldn't have to drive the almost 6hrs without aircon. I was told we could bring it in and they would look at it asap. Great! We drove across town hoping it may just be a simple, quick fix only to be told we would have to wait about 3 hrs for them just to have a look and would cost $165 just to plug it into their computer. So why tell me you could do it for us straight away when clearly you couldn't care less about me and my family? I was furious!

Not satisfied with the experience. Guy named Paul took my car for the service ,and said that couple of things needs to be done including rotation of the wheel with an extra charge of $70 , which then they agreed to do it for free when I asked them few Questions . Later , in the afternoon just before my pickup time they told me that the battery is flat. I was surprised because the car had no such issues in the past , neither it had given me any warning . Two days before in the Uber inspection, they told me everything was fine . Now I think that they tricked me to get money from me .Never going back

Usually this place is pretty good, been taking my car here for a while. However tonight I get a call saying that I ve got 10 year old tyres on my car. Considering the car is that old, I m unsure how it has 10 year old tyres still on there. I ve had all tyres replaced in the past two years, so someone is lying or someone has put old tyres on my car. Also in my last service I told the guys to replace the brake pads because they were low, I get a call tonight saying that they need to be replaced. I explained that they were replaced last service but the guy tells me only the front brake pads were replaced and that I would have to fork out another 350 dollars to replace the rear brake pads. I m sorry, but I m not happy with the boys there tonight. Just because I m female doesn t mean I don t know about cars. I also don t like being lied to nor do I have the money just to fork out on things that should have already been done. I will be checking my receipts from last services and be taking them in with me for the boys to explain to me what is going on and what I ve been paying them for.

Southside Toyota woolloongabba have great customer service, the brake calliper on my wife's corolla come loose they fixed it free of charge, the guy who does the shuttle bus mick is a good bloke too. All in all very happy with thier service.

I had my Prado serviced here several times. I bring it to the Woolloongabba location because it is between work and home. Service hours are extended till 11pm. I find this very customer focused for my needs. I have picked up my Prado at 10pm on occasions. Staff are very professional and friendly. There is a large well appointed waiting room. Location is great. I've never had a problem with additional work been done on my Prado, only what is asked for. I ad a brake problem recently and the service dept machine the disk's and installed new pads. Drove like new afterwards, some places would have bought new disk's and installed them at a huge cost. I trust Woolloongabba Toyota to give me the best service. Highly recommended.

Absolutely discussed with the abysmal service provided. This is not service. A simple oil and filter filter change turned into a 5 hour wait for my vehicle. Despite being assured to bring my vehicle in at 7:00am and it will be first in line, the service personnel will be notified that you will be waiting for your vehicle so they will attend to it straight away. What a joke. Zero care and unable to provide any semblance of commitment to a timeframe. Just empty promises. Your car will be ready in 2 hours, make that 2 1/2 hours, actually we need another 30-40 mins, the guys are nearly finished, another hour later....... How long does it take to change a blown lamp in a bullbar. At least 2 according to Southside Toyota Woolloongabba . What a joke. Will never waist my time or money here again. Setting the bar really low here.

They just tick the boxes or bring the piece of pap...

They just tick the boxes or bring the piece of paper to the customer to show this has been done... but that is just pre-prepared format in the system that they print for customers but don't do anything...
- they didn't check and change burned bulbs, but ticked "Yes"
- they didn't check and repair steering wheel's whine noise, that going worse... ,but they ticked "yes"
-they didn't top up washer water ,but ticked "Yes"
- they didn't check and clean battery electrodes or terminals ,but ticked "yes"
- they didn't check and repair the seat belt buckle ,but ticked "yes"
- they didn't touch the parking brake, but ticked "yes"
-after service fuel consumption goes 7.8/100k to 10/100k...
- after having second visit to them nothing done except battery terminals, washer water, and bulbs...
- in second visit they changed brake pads and did router machine, and resultant I got noisy, jerky , and vibrating brake paddle...
- they keep my car around 7am to 2.30pm just for normal service, I got a call at 1.36pm for brake pad authorisation, and they asked for more time until 4.30pm but I denied, and again I got call around 2.06pm that my car is ready to pickup...wondering how they did service within half an hour... did they do service first and inspection after that? ... resultant have to visit again
(they were supposed to give my car around 11.30am as per the appointment...)
- all these were just visible things that I could inspect as a non- technical/mechanical person, don't know they even changed the engine oil or not...
-and we need to mention every small to smallest thing whether it is on logbook, like bulb( however I mentioned while booking but lady said anything apart from logbook needs to mention...)
- it was totally disappointing experience that I used to hear...

First time taking the ute to be serviced and it was a super smooth event. Friendly staff, prompt and professional. Dropped it in at 4 pm for a log book service was completed by 9pm same day. Extreamly happy with the service and recommend to any toyota ower.

Excellent customer service for the most part especially from the morning front of house staff but the mechanic's have missed some minor stuff during service twice now which were both quickly rectified asap.

Really bad experience. I only drove a little since last services in here. However I still paid 710dollars to do the new service. They changed my new wiper and did wheel alignment again after my previous service, which already cost me 550 dollars to do the same thing. The only difference is to change a new brake. Do I have to change a new one next time?

Staff were lovely, and car feels so good after its service. The customer waiting are was clean (although a little noisy as there were a number of small children with their family also waiting). I was able to work while waiting.

Took my car in because I was having problems. They said they did a full inspection and found no problem at all. Problem continued and I eventually saw a different mechanic who found several very basic and obvious reasons for the problems I was having.

Gave my Toyota Aurion for service, guess its a mistake ! they make more trouble rather fixing. after wheel alignment, now my car just always go left when i keep the steering wheel strait. Ask them to fix my window glass switch , as it works sometimes but sometimes it doesn't. They said they did not find any problem and and now its just dont work anymore. Good fix! terrible service ever.

I have had my car services at this dealership for ...

I have had my car services at this dealership for the last 4.5 years and the experience has always been first class. But tonight they removed the baby seat from our car and did not re-fit it properly. In fact we found parts of it in the boot of the car. We have called the service manager - Tonny Brinkmann - and he has said he will call us back and arrange for someone to re-fit it at our home this evening as we have plans to take our little girl away this weekend. Many thanks Tonny. We look forward to your call.

We keep on getting recall notices from 2012 - Power master window switch. Fifth one last week. Called Southside Toyota a couple of years ago and they said it had been done during a regular service. Wanting to get to the bottom of why Toyota Melbourne continue to send letters called Southside. The lady I talked to eventually realised that the VIN we have on the letters is different to what they have in their system (last number out by one) - she suggested taking it up the the Dept of Transport implying it was their mistake as they 'often get it wrong'. Seriously? Common sense told me to just go check the plate on the inside of passenger door. Letter correct, Dept of Trans correct. Southside Toyota WRONG. Called back, explained to new person on phone. He couldn't say if this had been fixed. Have to now spend more of our time going in to get this checked tomorrow due to their error. No apology!

Not good service at all not recommend to any one book appointment for my new hilux for 10k service and had issue with tub liner from first day. And I was busy with my work and I booked appointment for my services and told them to fix permanently tub liner and after pickup my hilux they told me to fix your tube liner from which dealer you bought it take back there they able to fix it for you really disappointed

The service was great - fast, friendly. However, the right hand doesn't speak to the left hand. I never found out what caused my punctured tyre, or any feedback at all about my vehicle, because the lovely gentleman who handed my car back to me didn't have any paperwork or information.

Took my car for an airbag recall and when I got it back, they hadn't plugged the dash back in. No dash lights, no speedo, nothing. Should have been obvious, it was after dark and they drove it through dark areas of the complex to return it from the service centre to the reception. Sloppy work. Hopefully they remembered to plug the new airbag in.

Edit: subsequent to this review, they tried to call me 4 times at work after looking up my contact details in their system. They had no record that they screwed it up and that it was taken back for them to fix. Obviously no incident reporting or quality improvement processes in place. I would have thought that would be a given for a company of this size. I'd avoid them if you value your safety.

Always find the staff friendly and give you accurate information. Like the way they also keep you updated whilst waiting for your vehicle and love the fact the courtesy bus doesnt just do set times to the various stops. Hope they keep up the good work
