Great place to live, the staff is super helpful and nice.

I usually dont do reviews but SouthGate is truly a special place I was nervous sending my son here (or really anywhere) for his freshman year but I can say after just a semester it has been wonderful! The staff have alwasy been easy to work with and have always done a great job of keeping us updated to the latest events going on. The food at the onsite cafe was very good when ever I went to visit. I'm extreemly happy I ended up sending my son to live at Southgate!!!

Southgate is by far the best place to live. If you are a freshman or just looking for a dorm or apartment to live in, pick southgate! All of my friends that live in FSU dorms wish they lived here because of all the activities and the convince of having the dining hall downstairs. It is also spotless and the staff is very helpful. If you have a maintenance issue they will be there in no time and they check up with you to make sure everything is ok. Live at southgate, its amazing!!!!!

Very good meal plan, the food is amazing and theres so much variety! The staff is so friendly and the environment is very comfortable and feels like home, best place to live your freshman year!

One of the worst places you could possibly ever live. You are forced to have a dining hall meal plan which would be no problem if the food was not raw, the workers were friendly, and the cafeteria area was kept at the FL Department of health standards. Rooms are decent besides the dust and mold in the ceiling vents. Maintenance requests get done usually after the 3rd request and complaints. The cleaning staff is super friendly, and probably the best part of this whole community (not for their medicore cleaning but for their personalities). If you are a FSU pathways student or could not get a decent FSU dorm, consider an apartment this place is no where near the almost $1200 you pay.

You would think the loads of money you drop to live here would go towards somewhat decent food but instead they spend all of your money on Xbox's, TVs, Apple Watches, Purses, and cameras to give away at raffles. I tried to avoid eating in the cafeteria as often as possible because the food was god awful. A few of my friends have gotten food poisoning from it. I also have had multiple run ins with the cafeteria workers. There was only 1 nice lady out of the entire staff. All of the others would try to get our phone numbers or snapchats and made us extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention nothing ever works. The washers and driers on my floor have been broken for over a month now. If you do happen to find a working drier it will either burn your things or leave them damp. Then there are the multiple occasions where people have gotten stuck in the elevators. Most of the reviews on google are fake because they put your name in a raffle to win an Xbox if you write a good review.

I have lived at SouthGate for the past 3 years and it has truly been an amazing experience. It provides a great opportunity to meet new people and make connections that will last a lifetime. They have a quality meal plan and a great staff. I could not be happier with my living situation.

Humbling dorm experience. Easy access to campus and an endless meal plan was pretty nice too.

I would highly recommend living here! The staff is super nice and all the amenities they offer make my college experience the best! My favorite is the cafe they have, it makes my mornings a little easier and its super convenient!

If you live here you have to get the meal plan and there s no way out of it. It s literally so bad and so expensive

Best dorm hands down!!!! The food here is awesome, the staff and RA's are incredible, and the amenities are here at your leisure to keep you occupied anytime you please.

I love southgate and I really like how they always have things going on and my favorite part is how you have your own bathroom. I have had a lot of fun here so far and can't wait to live here for the rest of the year!

Southgate bribes students for good reviews (see attached). Food is nasty. I have to eat out all the time. Kitchen closes at 8 pm. Facility is fun but plan on eating out and or cooking in your microwave. Southgate sniff web and removes all negative reviews so you only see one side.

Living here was everything and more I wanted and more. The amenities that are offered are great! The gym has to be my favorite! Also the staff is always very friendly and helpful with all of my needs! I would recommend this to everyone.

I have been living at Southgate for almost five months now and I could not be happier. The facility is so clean, the staff is always friendly and the food is good. All of the amenities make the experience even better. Southgate is truly the best option when searching for the complete Freshman living experience.

The best way to put southgate is it s the best worst time you could have looking back I had a great freshman year with fun socials great location close to everything and met some of the best people I could of asked to meet by living there but your also living pretty much in a master bed room sharing it with another person with a mediocre food plan I found my self eating out a lot because of getting tired of the food in the dining hall it s very repetitive and some of the workers aren t the nicest the ra s are chill for the most part as long as you mind your business and interact with them they ll be friendly back but while living there I found a lot of people my self including complaining about living there but now that it s over I find my self wanting to be back I think it s great for freshman year to meet people and get used to being on your own but I could only do this for one year but also everyone who lives here are mostly tcc students who are done with class by 2 and don t wake up till noon so be prepared for nonstop going out partying and music till late at night if your looking for a party fun atmosphere this is the place because it s nothing but Freshman guys and girls with too much times on their hands in the best town to party in the state along with being walking distance to all the best bars in Tallahassee

Everything is so tidy, its so easy to contact the housing advisor, and the desserts are amazing!

Southgate is simply the best place to live in Tallahassee. Facility, Location, Parking, Dining, Fitness. Very well Managed by Mr. DeFeudis & his team.

I ve heard a lot of positive things about southgate so I had high expectations coming here my freshman year. Southgate definitely did not disappoint! The staff is nice and welcoming. You can see they put their best effort to make southgate a clean, welcoming, and safe environment. I will definitely recommend future friends and family members to stay here.

Good place for pathway students to live, right on FSU's campus. Don't even worry about the "Freshman 15" because you're going to avoid the dining hall at all costs.

Great place for high school seniors to transition into the lifestyle of college living seamlessly. Great amenities and staff make you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in the door! Would definitely recommend to any high school senior going to TCC if they're not sure where to live or an upcoming FSU freshman who wants to live and share a bathroom with one person and doesn't want to live in the dorms with 4 suite-mates.

I love living at southgate! The study rooms are very nice and it is convenient having a cafeteria and gym in the building. The mixers are also very fun and have great prizes

The dorm is close to campus and has a dining hall on the first floor which is the best part about the dorm. The food is 10/10

Very rude cafeteria employees who hate their lives. They act like they are doing you a favor by giving you food that you paid for. Called the manager one time to complain and he never called me back.

Southgate is a great home away from home. The RA's are very helpful and the rooms are nice and they get cleaned every Tuesday by a staff member which is very helpful and nice! Also there is a meal plan with great food down stairs and there is always coffee which is nice for when your trying to study! There are also 2 gyms so you don't have to drive somewhere to workout which is awesome! Southgate is very comfortable and is making my freshman year great! :)

Living at Southgate has been by far the best choice for housing i could have made for my freshman year. I've been saying that Southgate dorm live is better than that at an FSU Dorm and my FSU friends agree with me. There is not a single thing to complain about: every week my room gets cleaned by a professional cleaning service, every month there is a social where I compete to win insane prizes like tv's and X-boxes, at any hour of the day or night there is someone at the front desk if i have any questions or concerns, the food is always delicious and enjoyable, and every employee genuinely cares about the well-being of the students living there.

I would not recommend staying here if you can stay somewhere else. They charge you way too much and most of these reviews are fake because they did an xbox giveaway if people gave them five stars. They do not spend their money wisely because they would rather spend money on new Fat heads for the ball room than fixing the elevators that break every week. They could not pay me to stay here next year, and if they did they would just give me a fine and take the money back

Southgate is the premier freshman living experience. From tasty and healthy meals to involved RAS, Southgate is the right way to start your college career at FSU.

Lots of smelly college students... Not my thing. But if you are an FSU student, it seems like a decent dorm. Just bring your own lighting. It's ridiculously dark in the rooms. They must have 5 watt bulbs installed.

Cafeteria workers are horrible. not to mention the food is disappointing and nasty. Poor management etc. It s not worth it. Definitely wouldn t recommend.

One of the best places to stay for an FSU student. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is great. SouthGate's events are so much fun to be in and get to know new people. A great place to start off freshman year.

$1185 a month for broken (and expired) elevators, poor management, rude cafeteria workers, and very limited (and not even good) food choices. If you have food allergies, be prepared to only eat cross-contaminated salads and smoothies. The fruit is obviously from a thawed freezer bag, and the grapes have been moldy on multiple occasions. If you ask any of the workers for help, or you order something at the hot grill, you ll most likely get answered by attitude, even if you re polite. The workers all seem miserable and take it out on us. You also can t take food or drinks out of there (you can take smoothies but not coffee... explain that logic please), so if you re in a rush, don t eat there.

The only good thing about Southgate is someone comes in and cleans your room once a week, which is nice during flu season, and the cleaning staff is nice.

If you can t get into an FSU dorm, just go ahead and apply for an apartment. It takes weeks to get a reply from anyone when you email or message them (or even put in a maintenance request... it happened to my friend). You can t get out of anything (not even the meal plan, which only works at Southgate and nowhere else, unlike the FSU meal plans), and if you can, I applaud you because it s hard. It is nice to be close to campus, but this shouldn t be your first pick when looking for places to live around here. Also, I wouldn t trust the positive reviews because we re bribed with gift cards if we leave them online. There are way cheaper and better options out there!

I love living here! The staff is very friendly and always willing to help! The gym they have is AMAZING! Would recommend this place to everybody!

It was a great place to start college for me. Food at the cafe was nice and the events were fun. RA's make a good effort to connect with you.

Best dorm living experience. So close to campus and so convenient having the dinning hall and gym in the same building, where as living on campus you have to walk a mile to get to both.

Southgate is such a great way to make friends, there are tons of socials planned throughout the year where you can win prizes(!) and have some fun. The staff is incredible, from housekeeping to the dining hall - all friendly faces. If you opt for it, and you should, there is a parking garage connected by skywalk which is super secure and convenient since safe and close parking in Tallahassee is hard to come by. There are 24/7 gyms which most residents use and they even bring in a personal trainer. Great place to experience your first years at FSU.

I recommend Southgate to all students in Tallahassee who want to live in a dorm with a great meal plan, many planned activities with prizes, comfortable living, and a great environment!!

It was an Okay stay at best, I had roaches in my room and no exterminator was ever brought to take care of the issue. The team there was not helpful and treated me like I was just money to them. The soundproofing is bad, the room I had smelled musty. I had an awful fall season there.

I would definitely recommend this place to any incoming freshman. The food is great, and there are plenty of opportunities to make friends. It really is a family!

I've just recently started using the ballroom, and I'm so happy I did because I've already made a ton of friends.

My experience at southgate has been amazing so far! The socials are a great way to make new friends and to have fun! The gym and cardio room have made it easy to stay in shape and get rid of stress from school. They also have study rooms on every floor making it a great environment to study for your exams or do an essay. Last but not least they always have so many great food options between the daily meals to the great salad and fruit bar!

Decent food if you're hungry, all you can eat! Great relaxing/gaming room next to the dining hall to rest your food!
